When Strangers attack ....
That is unbelievable!!! You handled that way better than I could. It takes a lot to get me really angry, but when I do, watch out! I am just shocked that someone would do that!

Starting Atkins induction Diet Anyone want to join me????
Hey everyone! I've been really busy trying to get everything in order for my son's birthday party Saturday. Renewed, yes, I definitely think you should start a new thread because I am done with atkins too, at least for now. I have no idea as to what the thread should be called though. I would still like to talk with you guys every day and maybe talk about our food choices for the day. Maybe we could still log our food and share ideas and recipes? I think it's a great idea! Bloo, renewed is right, you have done such a good job on atkins! You should be very proud of yourself!

Mia- I am so glad you are starting to feel better about the procedure. You have done such a great job and congratulations on exercising! I haven't been exercising as much as I should, but I am going to start doing better. I'm so glad you don't have to wear that zappy wrist thing, LOL. Keep your head up and stay positive, you're going to do great!

Whole wheat pasta with spinach tomato sauce
Here's another whole wheat Pasta recipe that is soooo easy, my sister made this with ravioli, but I just use plain pasta. 1 box of whole wheat pasta (spiral) 1 container of store bought pesto or you could make your own Parmesan cheese Cook whole wheat pasta according to box instructions. Drain pasta and put it back in pot it was cooked in. Add pesto (add small amount and mix, keep adding until your liking). Add whatever amount of parmesan cheese you want, mix well and serve.

Whole wheat pasta with spinach tomato sauce
If you can tolerate Pasta, this is a good healthy recipe you can feel good about eating. 1 box whole wheat pasta (spiral shaped) 2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil 1 small onion, diced 2 cloves garlic, finely minced or grated 1 can diced tomatoes, drained a little 2 cans tomato sauce tomato paste (optional) about 1 cup of spinach, thaw and squeeze liquid out with a kitchen towel dried parsley and dried basil Parmesan cheese Cook pasta according to box instructions and drain. While pasta is cooking, in a sauce pan, heat oil and sautee onions until almost translucent. Grate in the garlic and let cook for a few minutes. Add diced tomatoes and tomato sauce and stir. Add squeezed spinach and stir together well. Add dried parsley and basil (to your taste) and stir. Let simmer for about 10 minutes. You can add some tomato paste if sauce is not thick enough. Add pasta to sauce mixture and stir. Add parmesan cheese and stir together well. Enjoy!

For those who have PCOS
Bandster 1007- I've been diagnosed with PCOS for about 8 years now and no doctor has ever told me I needed a hysterectomy. I also have a child that is almost 2 years old and I believe he was a miracle. You are still young and have plenty of time to have another baby one day. I would definitely get a second opinion and I also recommend going to an Endo. I started seeing an Endo back in November and she has really helped me. She also found that I have other hormonal problems that are not related to PCOS, so it would definitely be a good idea to have more test run because you never know, there could be something else going on too. I've been on Actos plus metformin for a few weeks now and it has helped with my weight loss, but unfortunately I'm noticing that I am starting to stall again. She prescribed me Spiro something or another, but I've opted not to take it right now. I have heard too many people say that it never helped them and it also can make you more susceptible to pregnancy and I want to wait on having another baby until I'm finished with my weight loss. The metformin can make it easier to get pregnant to, so both of them together may help you have a baby if you that's what you want. I'm not on birth control because I'm having regular cycles and she didn't want to mess with that! Anyway, good luck to you and I hope you get a second opinion, my Endo has really helped me.

Starting Atkins induction Diet Anyone want to join me????
Renewed, that is just crazy! I posted on the Sweetheart Goal thread last night that I suddenly had more restriction yesterday. We definitely have a lot in common! I'm gonna call you my Soul Sista! LOL! Your comments and scripture about pressing forward reminds me of a song by Selah that I love, it's called "Press On". Your right, no matter what we decide to do, we have to press on and continue with the weight loss. Good luck today and hopefully we will find what works for us soon!

Newbie from Georgia
Buttercup, I'm so sorry hear about the death in your family. I will definitely be praying for you and your family. It is soo hard to lose weight when you don't have decent restriction. I hope this next fill does the trick for you. It's so good to hear from you and please do keep in touch. Take care!

Biggest Loser
I hope Gillian can come back again and do the same thing. She got the last pick again and I really want her to kick butt! I guess I'm a sucker for the underdogs. At first I wasn't really liking this season, but it's getting more interesting and I like that they are changing up the game too.

The Sweetheart Goal!
Hazeleyegrl, I haven't been doing so hot myself. This has not been a good week for me, and honestly, I haven't weighed since last Saturday, I'm too scared to. I don't know what's wrong with me, I haven't been posting much because I didn't want to bring everyone else down. I'm not scheduled for another assessment until Feb. 12th. If I get a fill, I will be on liquids for 3 days, so no Valentine's dinner for me. I don't know if I will get a fill or not. I know I'm not at my sweet spot yet. I was trying to hold off on the fills as long as possible, I guess I wanted to prove to myself that I could do this without relying on my band completely, but I think it's time to get one. I've been able to eat just about anything for the past week and able to eat a lot in volume. Today is the first day I've felt any restriction in the past week. I wonder why it is that some days you can anything and as much as you want, and other days you can hardly eat anything? It's strange. I hope I continue feeling this much restriction, but I'm afraid it's just a freak thing. I was also hoping to have met the goal by now, but I still think we all have done an excellent job. I'm finding that the closer I get to this goal, the harder it is. Anyway, I know how you're feeling and you're not alone. All we can do is just try to get back on track and get busy. Good luck to everyone!

Nip50 Just wondering how you are feeling? I hope you are feeling better, the flu/virus stuff can make you feel miserable. It looks like it wil be just you and me, if you are feeling up to it. I know it's a long drive for you, so if you want to, we can postpone the meeting until we can get up enough people to come. It's totally up to you. I'll be happy to meet up with you and we can chat, but I understand if you would rather wait. Just let me know and we will go from there. Hope you feel better soon!

Starting Atkins induction Diet Anyone want to join me????
Renewed, I think we are sister's separated at birth, lol. I am going through the exact same thing. I haven't been posting because I didn't want to be a downer and bum everyone out. This has not been a good week for me at all. I am craving sugar like crazy. Low carb really works for me, but the problem is, it's soooo hard to make it a lifestyle. I was talking to my husband yesterday about this, and he said I was much happier and seemed to have more energy when I was eating a balanced meal. I haven't really had any fruits or many vegetables since I started this. I'm not a huge meat fan in the first place, so it's been hard to eat all this meat. I'm also dealing with a lot of hormonal issues that my Endo is working with me on, she's trying to help me get some energy back. I've just been feeling crappy and I think that is a huge factor in the way I'm feeling. I don't really know what to tell you because I'm having the same thoughts. I'm really thinking about trying to start with the calories again. I feel your pain!

Starting Atkins induction Diet Anyone want to join me????
Hey mandi78! They taste kind of like peanuts to me. The only problem I have with them is that they make my mouth really dry and I really want to drink something when I eat them. It's really hard to wait at least 30 minutes before I drink something. They are a very nutritious snack, and very high in protein. I think they have 2 net carbs per 1/4 cup, which is really good. Good luck on the low carb diet. I hope it helps you get to where you need to be.

Biggest Loser
I never liked the orange mother and son or the brothers. The only 2 I like on the blue team are the x football players. All I have to say about the vote off is, I would never swear on my child's life not to do something, and then do it, game or no game. I hope the black team continues to beat the blue team. I think the blue team thought they had it in the bag, I'm glad it backfired. I'm sooo curious about what's going to happen next week, it's really starting to get interesting........

Teenage Lapband On Oprah
I recorded the show and just now finished watching it. I don't think Oprah was being judgemental, it almost seemed like she really didn't care one way or the other. I just wasn't feelin it today, Idk, maybe she was just having an off day! Oh, and I also noticed the audience seemed a lot more supportive of the girl who lost weight without WLS. It seemed like the ones who had WLS were trying to defend themselves a little when they were answering questions, not sure if it was the tone of their voice or the way they were answering or what, just a feeling I got from them. I do think 13 is a little young to be having WLS, but we don't fully understand everything this girl was going through and no parent wants to see their child suffering. I think the older ones were probably more psychologically prepared, I just don't see how a 13 year old could be mentally prepared for that. Heck, I'm 27 and I don't think I was as mentally prepared as I should have been. <!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) -->

watch oprah now
I recorded the show and just now finished watching it. I agree, Dr. Oz's comments were very disappointing. I don't think Oprah was being judgemental, it almost seemed like she really didn't care one way or the other. I just wasn't feelin it today, Idk, maybe she was just having an off day! Oh, and I also noticed the audience seemed a lot more supportive of the girl who lost weight without WLS.

Biggest Loser
I am always telling my husband that the women on Biggest Loser look as big, if not bigger than me, but they weigh a lot less. It's unreal to me. My husband agrees, he thinks they look a lot bigger than they weight too! My favorite person right now is Brittany, I don't know why, but I really like her. I'm not very fond of the brothers, I think they are too cocky. As for the yellow team, it's obvious he is still in love with her, I think it's really sad I really like Allison, a lot better than the last lady that hosted.
