  1. Hi starlings. Homemade soups and chili are great for freezing. I bought some little tupperware containers that hold small amounts and I freeze chili all the time. I just take it out when I'm ready to eat it and let thaw, then microwave.
  2. Thanks guys! Ya'll are the best! Leslie and I will be running like the wind in the morning, lol. Renewed~ I posted on the other thread but I'll say it again....You look ABSOLUTELY FAB!! What a transformation!! Welcome mominflorida! Good luck with the program. It has really changed my life for the better.
  3. WHOA!! You are smokin' girl!! You look absolutely FABULOUS!! I can't get over how tiny you look. What an inspiration you are. Thanks for posting the pictures. You look absolutely gorgeous girl!
  4. I'm taking today off. I am running in my first 5k race tomorrow, so I'm taking it easy today. Have a great weekend guys!!
  5. Maggie...the support group meeting is at Palmyra. I am going to definitely try and make this one. I'm anxious to hear the speaker. Sounds like great topics.
  6. WHOOO HOOOO! I can't wait to see pictures!! I'm glad your appointment went well and glad that the little problems can be fixed easily. You are going to be a knock out!! You've been such a trooper through all this. You rock!!
  7. Thanks ya'll for all the encouraging words. I'm starting to get a little nervous about the race, but excited as well. I ran today and IF I run tomorrow, it will only be a mile. I may just take the day off, dunno yet. One of the trainers at the Y recommended that I get a Clif bar from walmart and eat it about an hour before the race. So, we'll see how it works. I'm going to strive to run the whole thing. That's my goal. I jog REALLY slow, so I wouldn't be surprised if I come in dead last, lol. That's okay though. This one is all about finishing. Renewed~ So glad you are still doing well. Can't wait to see pictures!! Congrats on being cleared to walk. I know you are excited about that. Keep healing well!!
  8. Hey Renewed! How are you feeling?? Hope you are still doing well. Good luck with your appointment today and let us know how it goes.

  11. Today: Pilates~ 45 minutes Zumba~ 45 minutes Ran a 5K outside for the first time (YAY)~ 43 mintues
  12. Hello my C25K buddies! I have good news and bad news. I'll give you the bad first. Bad news is, I finally mustered up the courage to weigh this morning and I gained 6 pounds!! TOM is still with me, so I hope the majority is due to that. Good news is, I just ran a complete 5K outside!! WHOOO HOOOO!! It took me about 43 minutes and I think I was going a little slower than I normally run on the treadmill, but I DID IT!! The last time I tried to run outside I could only go for about a mile. I had to really focus on staying at a slow, steady pace and that really helped. I really appreciate ya'lls support. I couldn't have made it this far without you guys. I remember my first day of the C25K. I couldn't even complete day 1. It amazes me how far all of us have come. Let's keep this up!!
  13. Jeannie....87 lbs is AMAZING!! Don't let the 100 lbs mark bring you down. Be proud of what you have accomplished in a year. I agree with Brina, go back and look at your before pictures and you will see how well you have done. It works everytime for me. Start new right now...you can do it!!!
  14. YAY Leslie!! Good for you!! I am going to Pilates and Zumba this morning and I am probably going to attempt to run outside today. Have a great day guys!!
  15. Renewed, glad you are recovering so well. And yes, I am shocked that you call yourself impatient, lol!! JK. I do hope you get all the staples out so can get moving again. I would be miserable just laying around too! What a difference a year makes... Keep resting, you're doing great!
  16. Took the weekend off. Today: Treadmill~ ran 41 minutes straight, then walked for about 10 minutes Strength training~ arms for 20 minutes
  17. WTG Fanny!! I went to the gym this morning and ran. I ran the full 5k at a speed of 4.5...took me about 41 minutes. I have never been able to run the full 5k outside but I am going to attempt it tomorrow. I will take Friday off but until then, it's full force! I am back on track with my food! I am logging my food at TDP and I hope to drop some weight soon. I still didn't weight today. I'm terrified to see how much I've gained. I will probably weight tomorrow though. Hope everyone is having a great day!!
  18. Hey everyone! I just wanted to post an update on Renewed. She overdid it Thursday and was very swollen and tired on Friday. She's pretty much been in the recliner ever since. She said she feels much better today and the swelling is better too. She's gonna take it easy for a few days and probably won't be posting much.
  19. Kathy....you're not the only one that has given in to the halloween candy! My son still has a ridiculous amount of candy and I'm very tempted to just throw it away. I find myself munching on it all the time....UGH!! I am getting back on track tomorrow. My eating has been terrible lately....I think I've gained some weight but I'm too chicken to weigh myself because I don't want to know. TOM is also here and that's not helping either. Oh, and the weather is much warmer now than it was last week. Not too cold and not too warm....perfect! I'm hoping it stays like this until Saturday because it feels great!! I just wanted to give ya'll an update on Renewed. She overdid it on Thursday and was very swollen and tired on Friday. She's pretty much been in the recliner ever since. She is feeling much better today and the swelling is better too. She said she is going to take it easy for a while and probably won't be online much. Feel better girlie!
  20. Good to have you back Nip! I can kinda relate to you. My doctor sent me to a surgeon to check out a lump on my breast. They don't think it's cancer but they are keeping an eye on it. I go back in December to see if it has grown or changed. I'm soooo glad you don't have cancer. I haven't been doing too hot in the food department either. Time for us Bandits to get back on track!! Oh, and the race is next Saturday. I'm really excited!!
  21. I got this recipe out of our local newspaper years ago. I love this soup!! It's very chunky and hearty. (The recipe calls for elbow noodles, but if you are carb conscious you can leave them out. I've made it with and without and it's great either way.) EASY VEGETABLE BEEF Soup 1 lb. lean ground beef 3 (14.5 oz) cans of chicken broth 4 cups Water 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix 1 (16 oz) pkg. frozen mixed vegetables 2 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon pepper 1/2 cup dry macaroni elbow noodles (optional) In a dutch oven, brown ground beef and drain. Put browned meat back in dutch oven and add chicken broth, water, and onion soup mix. Put heat on high and bring to a boil, lower heat to medium and simmer for 20 minutes. Add frozen vegetables, diced tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Cook for 15 minutes. If desired, add macaroni noodles and boil for 10 minutes. Serve immediately and refrigerate or freeze leftovers. Makes about 9- 1 cup servings. This is my favorite soup! Normally, soup goes right through my band, but this soup is hearty enough and makes me full.
  22. Lyn~ Good to hear from you! Sorry your toe is still bothering you. Hope it heals soon. Oh, and good luck with the new job opportunities and the new house! Fannie~ LOL!! Hmmmm....depends on how long each activity lasts. HA...can't believe I just said that! Well, we went trick or treating tonight. My son was sooooo cute in his little mail man costume. On a bad note, he has a ton of candy and it's calling my name....YIKES!!
  23. Cool! She is great! She's not a "typical" preachers' wife, lol. She's crazy....not in a creepy way, but really fun! I really miss them. I hardly ever see them anymore :smile2:
  24. YESTERDAY: Treadmill~ ran 2.5 miles and walked 1 mile (50 minutes) Strength training~ arms and legs (45 minutes) StairMaster~ 10 minutes.....yikes!! TODAY: Zumba~ 45 minutes Treadmill~ ran 15 minutes, walked 10 minutes Ab workout~ 20 minutes
  25. memom~ congrats on the weight loss! That's fantastic!! Kathy~ great NSV!! Feels great doesn't it. Sugar~ I have only ran once outside when it was cold (a few days ago) and it was a lot harder. Hopefully it won't be too cold on Saturday. And you WILL get there. Hang in there. I would love to have a treadmill at home. Fanny~ that's great!! Keep up the good work!! Leslie~ my son is looking forward to halloween too. He's gonna be a mail man. We are going to get some pictures of him in the mail truck. It's gonna be so cute.
