  1. Good luck Renewed! I'm praying everything goes well. Let us know how it went as soon as you can.
  2. Okay okay...I didn't. LOL. Pink eye is better so I will hit the gym this evening. Carol...accident prone is a good word to describe me, lol. I've had 3 different injuries from running outside....a twisted knee, and 2 twisted ankles. I'm givng up on running outside for now. Although....I am thinking of doing a 5k this month, so we'll see.
  3. Sorry Whosya...took yesterday and today off. I have pink eye. Didn't want to risk spreading it at the gym and we all know what happens when I run outside, lol. I promise to hit it hard tomorrow.
  4. Kathy....Have a good trip! We'll miss you. Carol...I second what Kathy said. Even thought you didn't get the time you expected, I'm very proud of you! Don't be so hard on yourself! You finished and you improved your last time. That's what it's all about. Congrats!!
  5. This is my new favorite meal! I used the cinnamon roll flavored oatmeal and added some creamy peanut butter and sugar free maple syrup....DELISH! I eat it all the time, usually more than once a day, lol.
  6. Today- Treadmill- 3 miles (run/walk intervals) StairMaster- 10 minutes 45 minutes strength training- arms and legs (will do some ab stuff later) Ceradad- Hope your mom heals soon. Whosya- It's AWESOME that your daughter is interested in fitness at her young age! You must be so proud! Luluc- Looks like you are doing great. I'm glad you are cleared to workout. TQUAD- Hope you feel better soon.
  7. Like TQUAD, I do cardio first. Cardio is my main focus right now. I find that if I do weights first, I don't have near as much energy to get through my cardio. I always stretch, then run, then stretch again, then do weight lifting. I dunno if I do the "right" way, but it works for me.
  8. Renewed...I used to be the same way. It HAD to be all or nothing. For me, I had to deal with my need to be perfect. I always felt like if I ate one little thing that was bad, I had ruined everything, so I would just quit dieting and exercising all together. I guess it was the perfectionist in me (I get it from my mom, lol). It was a mental game for me. It has gradually gotten better, but it's something I battle with all the time. I think you are on the right track by giving yourself a schedule and sticking to it. Just be sure you're not over doing it, so you don't get overwhelmed. If you find that your new schedule is too much, adjust it from week to week until it's right. You have done soooooo well! You are so close to goal and you look absolutely FABULOUS!!!
  9. Yes, I've tried it and I really like it! I go to the class when I can, but I don't go religiously since I mainly focus on running. It's a lot of fun! It may take you a few classes to learn all the moves, but it's soooo fun. They don't expect you to catch on your first time. Give it a try and just do what you can.
  10. I was about 260 lbs when I started the couch to 5k. I did have some knee pain at first. I had to start pretty slow, taking plenty of rest days. Eventually I was able to run without the knee pain. I think I just needed to build up the muscles around my knee. I still run pretty slow, about 4.5 mph, but for now I'm just trying to focus on endurance. Don't let your weight stop you. Just take it really slow. Best of luck to you!
  11. Thank you! I get my inspiration from you and others on this thread. We are gonna kick butt on this challenge!!
  12. Today- 5 miles on treadmill (ran the first 4 miles, then walked/ran the last mile) DH and I are going to play tennis later tonight too.
  13. WTG MacMadame!! Great job!! Hello C25K buddies!! I took yesterday off (I soooo needed that, lol) and I felt refreshed this morning. I went to the gym and I ran 4 miles straight!! That is the longest straight run I've ever done!! Then I ended up walking/running one more mile. I won't be able to do that everyday, but it was nice to push myself and know that it's possible. Have a great day everyone!
  14. Thanks. The cardio kickboxing one sounds like something I would like. I'll look into it. Good deal! My body is feeling pretty tired today, but I was debating on whether or not to run. I think I will rest today. Glad you had a good b-day!
  15. Renewed...your new plan sounds great! How is Dylan's foot...still healing well I hope? Which Jillian video do you have? I've been thinking of getting Jillian's Wii Fit game, but I dunno.
  16. Thanks Whosya! Today- 5.28 miles on treadmill (ran 2.5 straight then intervals on the rest) 45 minutes of strength training (legs and abs)
  17. Happy Birthday Whosya!!! Hope you have a great day!! Leslie.....it's good to hear from you girlie! I've missed you! Carol gave you some great advice. You have done a wonderful job girl, don't give up now! You can do it! If you don't have a fill appt scheduled, I'm thinking of giving mine up on Feb. 3rd if you want it. Just let me know. ttyl
  18. scalingdown....don't worry about your speed right now. Just focus on endurance. Your distance will increase each week as your running time increases. You can work on speed later. Keep up the good work!
  19. Carol...it's a Nike+ challenge. You have to have an ipod nano and the nike+ sports kit to participate. The nike+ sports kit is only $30, but it's only compatible with the ipod nano. The challenge is about distance....who has the most at the end of the challenge. Walking/running counts. I highly recommend it to anyone who is serious about running. It really keeps me motivated!
  20. Thanks! Ahh, you earned the bragging rights. Congrats!!
  21. Renewed...I'm glad Dylan's foot is going to be okay. Do you know when you are going to have your revison done yet? Well, today I weighed and I lost......(drumroll)....3 lbs! I am very happy with that because TOM came last night, so I was a little worried about it. I hope this is the beginning of some major weight loss!
  22. Saturday and Sunday- nothing Today- 5 miles on treadmill (ran the first 3.5 miles and did intervals for the rest) 30 minutes strength training (arms) DH is going to the gym tonight, so I will probably end up going with him and doing some sort of cardio again (probably either walking or stairmaster)
  23. Oh, and I am excited to weigh in tomorrow! I really feel like I've lost some weight this week. 5 lbs would be wonderful, but I'm shooting for at least 2....surely I lost at least 2 lbs...
  24. Boy am I regretting taking the weekend off!! Congrats to you though. That is GREAT!! Welcome back Mama! I've missed you.
