Thanks for posting this. I put something similar as my status. I was more or less called sensitive.
Those people have problems with themselves so much that they cut others down in a minute.
It's not like the post they tear people up on are about going on alcohol and drug benders. Mean people.

I agree. I would imagine quite a few of us are insecure and are looking for moral builders and positive support. Thanks for speaking out.

I've been trolling for a little while and posted a few threads. I've seen others get verbally attacked and bullied on this site and all I want to say is don't be a bitch to folks here. Most of us already have suffered some type of abuse in some form or another and it isn't necessary.
Is hurting other people making you feel better about yourself? I thought this site was to build people up ...let's be positive to one another and not hateful there is enough of that in the world already!!!!

I think I must be literally the only person on earth that doesn't like the premier shakes. I tried once but it was too thick for me. I do like the EAS which taste really good.
I've been using the GNC Lean shakes in strawberry, which are really thin. 25 grams Protein, 170 cals.
Is that 7 days with only shakes, no food at all?

It is a wonderful thing that you are doing for yourself. You will feel better very soon. Just start walking as soon as they let you. That really helps.
    Good luck!

I'm using the GNC Lean shake Swiss chocolate one.
It's pretty damn good! And very, very filling and satisfying.
You know you CAN do this.

What impresses upon me the most is, I believe whole-heartedly that you already know every single piece of advice that has been given to you. So, what is your intent to come on here and be told what you already know? From Lipstick Lady's comments, this is a habit of yours. From your own admissions, this is a habit of yours.
At what point are you going to realize that you need help? You are clearly demonstrating out of control behavior that has nothing to do with getting the majority of your stomach removed. Body builders don't even eat 5,000 calories a day. You didn't discover costco, you went looking for costco. You are the poster child for why ill-prepared people should not have weight loss surgery - delusions of a magic bullet.
Don't you understand that non-compliance is non-compliance? You are PURPOSEFULLY and INTENTIONALLY gaining weight. Why? Why are you doing this to yourself? GO GET HELP. You don't need a nutritionist, you need a therapist and to quit wasting your time and everyone else's with these posts. You're fat because you want to be. You're drowning yourself and medicating yourself with food, and your treatments are 100% effective. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
You were a poor candidate for surgery and did an excellent job of bullsh!tt!n your way through that Psych eval if you had one, and convincing a nutritionist and surgeon that you had the capacity, desire, and drive to change your life permanently.
This is a joke to you and it always was. You were too young and ill-prepared to give up living life the way you see fit. 'Cause eating a freakin case of tamales washed down with diet pop is what fat people do that want to stay fat; not a person with full mental capacity who understands that they didn't need to butcher their body in order to eat that way.
That high GPA you have in school won't mean a damn thing if you're dead from a heart attack or stroke; and yes, those things do happen to young people too. Stop lying to yourself and get help from a psychiatrist / psychologist so you can quit with the slow death that you have prescribed for your life.

1st - i am happy to hear your husband is getting better...
2nd Appeal! In Oct of 2013 I got sick with bronchitis and I couldn’t shake it… I was put on steroids for almost 4 weeks… (we all know what steroids do…) anyway I gained about 15lbs and come Nov when my doc office sent in my paper work, I was denied due to the weight gain. My doc office appealed before I even knew about it and got approved. My surgery was Dec 11th of 2013.
DON’T GIVE UP!!! Write a letter, make phone calls… DON’T GIVE UP!!! KEEP APPEALING till you get a YES!!!!
    Good luck!!!

BarntruckCutie reacted to Bob2013 in Why hide it?
I have been seeing many threads on here about people keeping their surgery a secret and it really puzzles me. I understand its a personal choice but whenever someone makes a post about it they never really give the reasoning behind it.
I personally do not hide it. If anyone is curious I gladly tell them and when the questions pop up I am pretty well versed as to the facts behind the surgery so I educate them. The way I look at it is if it wasnt for people being open about it I would have never looked into making one of the best decision I have ever made. To me, it seems that keeping that secret would be more harmful mentally than whatever benefit keeping it a secret would do.
So what are the reasons? Is it being embarrassed that you had to have the surgery to lose weight? Do you want people to think you did it on your own? Is it being afraid of "What if it doesnt work"? Or is it "I just like keeping secrets"
I am not judging anyone, I am just curious.

You are not selfish, I just think its unrealistic to change everyone elses eating options. I feel it may be more difficult for you with those tempting foods around but its not fair to say they can't have it because you choose wls. You and me too just have to discipline ourselves and make changes that are good for us. You can do it! Stay strong and remember there are tons of us out here going through this too! Best of luck to you!

It really is one of our toughest challlenges at the beginning. WE are the ones who have to learn to change our old eating habits in a world where we are CONSTANTLY surrounded by junk food and the people who are constantly eating it. And that includes right inside our own homes. Maybe they can compromise and be more aware of not leaving it out all over the place and not eating it all the time right in front of you. And you can be starting to find substitutions for the junk food that are healthier choices that you can eat while the family is having the "traditional" junk food.
It took me well over a year to not be bothered by seeing the junk food and others eating it. Now I can see people eating it, or I can just see it sitting there and I say things to myself like, "I don't eat that anymore," or "I choose to eat healthfully now." If you work hard on changing your habits in that first year, the junk food loses its power over you, or better yet--YOU gain YOUR POWER over it! You can start making these changes little by little, because the rewards will be for the rest of your life!
