  1. My surgeon told me before hand that if I had a hiatal hernia he would repair it while doing the VSG, which is what happened. I was shocked to see they billed my insurance $40k for each item. Glad I didn't have to pay that much. I didn't have any after effects due to the hernia repair. Good luck on your surgery.

  12. Scheduled for August 21st. Trying to juggle around my son's schedule and hoping I have enough time off from work. I was hoping to only be off for a week because I don't have that much sick time. Good luck everyone!!

  14. I am glad to see all these responses. I too have very little sick time and need to be back to work within a week. I love this forum! It has been so helpful with all my questions that come to mind.
  15. Thanks everyone. I am really trying not to overthink it and focus on the end result. You are all inspirational.
  16. Scheduled for August 21st. Definitely excited and nervous all at the same time. I find my mind trying to talk me out of it, but then I remind myself of all the long term benefits. Good luck all!!
  17. Awesome! Thanks for the inspiration.
  18. I don't know why, but my mind is messing with me and keeps trying to talk me out of the surgery. Every day I realize all the benefits of having the surgery, but this little nagging voice keeps trying to talk me out of it. Has this happened to anyone else?
  19. Thank you for your post. I have gone back and forth with the decision to have surgery. When i told my mother she didn't seem to approve of the idea. Heck, I think to myself, "Why can't I lose the weight on my own" I have tried all the diets you mention above and nothing works long term. I see that you are post surgery 6 months and it looks like it is working for you. Despite my mother's raised eyebrows I am proceeding. Every test is done, insurance approval complete, just waiting for approval from surgical board. I am excited and scared all at the same time. Thanks for the inspiration!!
