  1. Hey everyone, Was led to this site last week and I'm very thankful for all you bandsters and to-be banded bandsters for all the information and support that's here. I am having my surgery in 2 days (wednesday 9/26) and I wish I found this site much sooner. I chose to go to the local hospital in Winchester, and my surgeon is Dr. Sandor. He is such a compassionate surgeon and has a wonderful bedside manner. (And he specializes in laporoscopic surgeries). Has anyone had him? At the next support group I go to, I will definitely share this website with everyone. The boards will definitely ease any concerns I may have after surgery too. I volunteered to drive some friends to Logan 8 days out of surgery - after reading the previous posts - I'm thinking maybe I should tell them to have an alternate ride? My surgeon restricted driving for 1 week - I thought it was just so the airbag didn't deploy in the case of an accident... but now I'm having second thoughts. It's only a 20 -25 minute drive each way and I would NOT be picking up their bags. Good luck everyone. Brenda
  2. Hi Angeleyes! I also live in Mass! I'm having mine done wednesday @ Winchester Hospital. My girlfriend that had it done in August kept telling me she couldn't feel the "full feeling" for a while either. She didn't actually feel any difference until she had her 1st fill which was a month later. So hang in there - everything I read about the weightloss is much slower than the gastric bypass. They say to expect 1-2 lbs a week which is a nice healthy way to loose. I'm hoping if I can keep walking and be a gym rat I'll stay ahead of all the loose skin. Are you on a liquid diet now? or mush food? Brenda
  3. I like To the nines - It implies looking our best (she's dressed "to the nines") It's like tipping a hat, or raising a glass of champagne everytime I hear it - and saying, "Here's to the NINES" (meaning "CHEERS to all you wonderful people having surgery in the NINTH month of September). Just has a nice ring to it.... Brenda
  4. I'm luv2laugh and my surgery is sept 26th in MA.. Please add me to the Sept bandsters... Thank you... and good luck to everyone! Brenda
  5. Hey woowoo... How's it feel to be 3 days out of surgery? I'm going in this wednesday! Any tips? Brenda
  6. Hey Kellymovingon - good luck monday - let me know how it goes! I see we are similar ages (I didn't post mine originally) - love to hear how your progress is doing - Are you on a pre-op diet? My doc wants 2 meals liquid/day and 1 regular meal. I had a few parties to go to, and I was so surprised how I was able to not snack! I didn't sit AT the table where all the food was (which was where I normally would be). I just mingled everywhere else. Getting into the mindset of not "what can I eat now" has been half the battle. I can't wait to surprise people at my weightloss during the holidays this year!! Good luck to everyone else getting banded next week : Kellymovinon, legalmandy,supermamaof4,marywalker20,rachel1972,libby,chelle, and say a prayer for me too - luv2laugh.... Brenda surgery date 9/26 - gettin' nervous!
  7. Hi everyone! My cousin just told me about this site and I am soooo glad to have a place to go to ask questions, and go through this journey with someone! I'm scheduled for surgery THIS wednesday ( in Massachusetts) and I'm so excited - but getting nervous! Brenda
  8. Hey Christina, I share the same lap band date as you - getting a little nervous now that it's right around the corner. I'm getting mine done in Winchester, MA and Dr. Sandor is my surgeon (I love him!). I'm on liquid diet right now, but have been eating some food (he said I could eat 1 meal/day). Are you on a special diet prior to the surgery? Brenda
  9. I just heard of this site from a relative and wish I had found it sooner. I'm due for my lap band THIS WEDNESDAY, the 26th of September. I am getting a little nervous, but also quite excited! Would love to talk to people that are also going in around the same date - Brenda
