  1. Normal to be unsure and have anxiety, I'm saying this to you because I've had to say these things to myself. You deserve this. You deserve to make peace with your life, heal from past hurts and negative outer comments that you are now saying to yourself. Part of this journey in the mental side of weight loss. Forgive and love yourself. You come first. Why would anyone want to go back to our 20's lol Be your own awesome at any age! We have your back!
  2. Seems a bit of a weight gain is normal. June I will be four years out. It took a bit of finagling for me to find where I start losing weight again. The weight loss is slower. But this is maintenance I gain a bit. I now know I can get it back down. This years resolution was not freaking out over small weight gains..lol My menu: Morning:(broke up into two meals) Scrambled eggs with leftover sauteed mushroom, onion and garlic. Jimmy dean turkey sausage Lunch: Smoked salmon salad Pre workout: fresh bartlett pear. Lee labrada homemade sweet potato muffin. Post workout: Run fast eat slow - homemade trail mix dinner: lentil stew - Ground turkey, beef broth, lentils, carrot, green beans, diced tomato, celery, onion and garlic snack: Quest cookie..It is processed but I had a sweet tooth.
  3. One week! woohoo. Your Dr will release you. He/she will give you instructions on how much weight to lift when you start to heal. Rest up after surgery!
  4. Wow I'm a bit surprised. 800 for how long? What did he give you for protein goal and carbs? Can I ask where you had surgery and what surgeons office?
  5. Wow as you can tell people on the board are opinionated and feel their way is best. He suggested 800 calories?
  6. I don't mean this in a negative way. Your BMI is 34.7 Obese. Just the health risks that go along with it. I wish you the best whatever you decide. BMI calculator below https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/educational/lose_wt/BMI/bmicalc.htm
  7. Your right. surgery is not for everyone.
  8. So many studies on stretching your stomach. It seems to be a rare occurrence. Some may need a revision. So think about it this way. Long term success is behavior change - Slow down when you eat. Stop eating when you feel your new sensation of full. Don't eat to the point you vomit. Drink 30 mins after you eat.
  9. You wash the food through your system and don't get the nutrition. Also helps you feel full and satisfied. There are many behavior changes with WLS. Drinking after a meal really is not as hard as you may think. I hope your health is a priority over having to change old habits that keep us overweight.
  10. Your restriction in the first months is at its best. It can be a challenge to get 600 to 900 calories in. Dr's instructions are all different. Most don't worry about calories in the first months the focus is getting your protein in. I eat small meals every three hours. It was work getting in 1100 calories. I think I got there at 5 months.
  11. I eyeballed and used the palm method for a while. After using a scale I realized I was way off. 3 oz of salad on a scale is very different from 3 oz in a measuring cup.
  12. Get with your dietician. They will give you good advice on getting back into weightloss mode. We are here to support you along the way. Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. Congrats on your surgery and weight loss. It gets better after you reach the real food stage. Changing behaviors takes time. When you repeat small efforts over and over it becomes habit. This will be your new normal. ..hang in there[emoji6] Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. I am still a bit clueless about gestures from the oposite sex..lol some of the guys here have been great to help me interpret men. I had to look up the makeing it rain gesture..lol Comments on your new apearance takes an adjustment. Some will be appropriate, hilarious and creepy. 15. I wasn't offended lol the emaciated comment made me giggle.
  16. lol do I look emaciated at 133?
  17. Congratulation on conquering your first goal. You are doing fantastic.
  18. The words hit hard for me too. I knew I was overweight but to see I was really morbidly obese was a wake up call. I wish you the best in seeking weight loss surgery. It's about our health and living our best lives! Keep us updated.
  19. I'm sure you see and feel the health benefits from your weight loss. You are the only person that has to good with your BMI. It does not matter what anyone else's opinion is. The goal is healthy. Whatever that may look like to you. As for the statistics you answered your own question - If you lower your weight to a BMI overweight to normal zone. It will reduce your health risks further. You fought the pain and suffering to get your 93 down. Up to you if you want to reach for the stars. Whatever you decide I wish you the best.
  20. Congrats on getting your surgery date! very exciting. Your rate of weight loss is going to be a unique experience to you. There is no way to predict how fast/slow your weight loss will be. This is not a race. You will lose weight is what's important.
  21. Congratulations on 93 down! great work! What you want to accept as a healthy weight is up to you. The goal is healthy right? Reach for the stars if you want to go further.
  22. Not a debbie downer at all. That is a major life event for you. I'm sorry for your loss. I try to show compassion daily. People hide what they are going through or experienced well. You never know who the walking wounded are. My turn to share, It's hard to let go of the people we love. My mother and father in law were diagnosed with stage four cancer with months to live. They passed with in four days of each other. This was right before my surgery. My goal after surgery was to do distance runs in their memory. I continue to do them. My weight was not only health issues. It was holding me back from living the best life I can. I feel like I'm making up for lost time. Live life like today is the last.
  23. I'm envious of your curves. Seems like the less body fat I have my curves disappear.
  24. PLOM. Pretty cute... I have days I've kicked my teddy bear. Seeing people have struggles (even small) with WLS don't bother me. Just don't wallow in it..lol Perspective: A cancer patient with a month to live would gladly trade places with any of us for weight loss struggles. So pick your PLOM up and press on! Life is to short.
