I am struggling. No loss for several months. Had a gain of 8 pounds and can't seem to get rid of it.
I am so happy that you girls have had your plastic surgery. I am hoping that I can take 20+ pounds off and then have surgery. I've learned a lot from your posts. It sounds like a very painful surgery. Can I ask you how much did it cost? Does insurance help? I would love to see pictures if you would share. I am hoping that the idea of surgery will help motivate me to get me back on track.

So, today marks my first month surgiversary as it has been four weeks since I underwent RNY.
I have lost 25 pounds since surgery and with another 15 pre-op, that brings my grand total WL to 40 pounds. I don't know why but that number disappoints me (in me head) but my heart tells me I should be stoked. My head and my heart have never had the most compatible of relationships but they are working on being more cordial.
I don't have much to complain about. I went back to work ten days post-op and have no issues with energy or GI problems. I did have some inconveniences with vitamins/timing/fluid intake/protein goals after going back to work. But as of today, I have worked out those kinks and am hitting my fluid/protein/vitamin goals with much ease.
I feel great. My incisions haven't been a source of discomfort since about five days out and I have more energy, better sleep quality and less physical pain than I have since my 21st birthday. It does get better everyday and for those of you struggling, please, please, please keep that in mind. I know it sounds cliche but truly believe that it does get better everyday and the discomfort you are feeling now will dissipate. One day you will wake up and look back on the hard parts and think "it was worth it to get to the way I am feeling now!"
It is normal to feel emotional, frustrated, overwhelmed, scared and "not complete." It is normal to question your decision and it's worthiness. It was a major life changing event and it will sometimes feel like it was a mistake. It only feels that way because sometimes the most rewarding, most challenging and most powerful decisions in life are the hardest to get a grip on. They also happen to be the ones we will never regret and make our lives better in ways we never thought possible.
For those of you feeling lost or don't have a lot of support, while I maybe "new" in my journey, I'm a great listener and don't want anyone to feel alone in theirs. Reach out to me and together we can be each other's support. Sometimes all we need is an ear to bend to feel better.
Good luck to everyone in their journey; rather ten years in on two weeks pre-op, we all deserve a pat on the back!

Girls I will try to find some non discreet pictures to post. I'm not a fan of posting pictures of my naked body with me in it! LOL.
AS far as cost, the 3 procedures came to about $27K.

WesTan2014...Thank You...I run alot now so my legs are not that bad, and although i have wings on my arms i am not looking to have surgery for that. As for my "apron" i wear compression shorts or spanks. I will be looking into getting that removed after July. I wanted to be a year and a half out from surgery before i started looking for surgery.

I'm not sure if I qualify as a success story yet but I do believe I experienced a life changing event. It took me years to pull the trigger on surgery. I've gained weighed steadily over the last 10 years despite doing what doctors had advised me to do. A myriad of reasons and overall giving up led me to where I was. Oct 7th I weighed in at 248lbs. As a 5'2 woman I was a size 20 comfortably. I realize now how in denial I was over where I had got too. Do you have that one picture that made you cry? I do. I never took any pics until my husband and I celebrated 10 yrs of marriage in Puerto Rico. This before picture was what made me get surgery a month later. The now pic is from today after playing in the snow with my girls. I'm not even at goal and unbelievably happy. Just thought I'd post the pics bc they were my motivation from others.

I am 9 weeks out and have dropped 50 lbs and 2 pant sizes! I feel the difference and it is wonderful. I can see the difference in my face, but maybe not so much the rest of my body yet (at least in these photos). I picked up my 30 lb niece the other day and could not believe I used to have more than one and a half of her on me all the time. So excited that the numbers just keep going down. I am walking my first ever 5k next week and am so proud of myself so all I have achieved so far! Best decision ever!

Just think...it is much more natural for you to get these cravings now, especially because your body is losing weight so fast. And you will have these cravings as time goes on too. We all have different food issues but most of us were addicted to certain types of food or all food. For me it was simple carbs and sweets. I still have the cravings. Fortunately for me, I have bad dumping. I have eaten stuff and gotten really sick more than a few times. But, thankfully, after I get sick, it does get easier to not do it again. It seems like I forget how sick I get after awhile. Still, I never eat as much sweets as I used to...and I am down to goal pretty much. I would like to be 10 lbs lighter, but where I am now is easy to maintain. I am 2 1/2 years out from surgery. I now know I can do this long term!!!! It's not "easy" but I know I can do things to reduce my sweets cravings. Keep carbs low, keep active, exercising, keep doing my creative stuff which makes me feel more whole. It's definitely a journey that keeps going and growing.
