  1. Jodie- i don't have anything else to say- I was not putting you down- and I have read the posts on this thread- I wish you the best- please keep your negative statements about Asian-Americans and other members of this board to yourself. Your negativity is toxic. The band will not change that for you.
  2. Barb- I hope things are getting better- I will continue to keep your family in my prayers, Take care of yourself
  3. Tall- with a more petite but please....(thank godness for my band- i just may get my wish) granny panties or thongs? couldn't resist
  4. exercise and H2O I eat on small plates- I even went and bought a fancy, tiny side plate for my beautiful tuna salad with crackers!
  5. iwtbl I want to be lighter! JGRWQ
  6. Did you apeall to Aetna? I have Aetna and they out right declined it- but with the help of the surgery center and my primary care physican- we appealled with letters and a few months later they reversed theri original decision. I know all groups are different- but it's worth a try. Best of luck to you.

  10. thanks guys for your help- not to be too graphic- i finally was able to release it. It wasn't my dinner- just slime (I know too much info!) I've never PB'd before and it was a little scary- the first time. I think my band is tighter at night- has anyone experienced this? When I eat lunch and breakfast- I chew and eat pretty normally- oatmeal or slimfast, turkey on 1 slice wheat with tomato and lettuce for lunch, and dinner- Protein and veggies. It seems at night- either I get too hungry and eat too fast or I don't chew well enough- I'm learning though- this second little fill is great- I LOVE MY BAND- I feel like I've been given my life back. Thanks to you all for always uplifting me and others on LBT.
  11. Jodie- The band doesn't work for everyone. I'm very new to it- but, I know from others that it takes focus and determination. Your negitivity will keep you from success- with your weight and your life. You can decide to give things a chance- but if you continue to negate everything everyone says- you will not succeed. You say 'life is beautiful" so- look for the beauty- don't deny it. If you are apporved- and I hope you are- your attitude will have to change for the weight to come off- are you prepared for it? I've lost 29 lbs. since 6/5- but it hasn't been easy- and it is a total mind shift- the pre surgery liquid diet- the post op 2 weeks of liquids- it takes positive thinking and serious control. You have to believe you will succeed- otherwise this band will not help. Life, indeed is beautiful.... your words- remember them. Take care of yourself.
  12. Hey- anyone out there with some ideas- I just ate some halibut and green beans and now I think I'm PB'ing- burbing, hiccups- acidity pain in throat- tight espogus feling- can't seem to get it down...hurting---little scared- any thoughts on what might help

  17. Congrats to you! How exciting..... :Bunny
  18. Wannabeskinny- I hear ya- I felt no restriction before my fill- I felt hungry most of the time- I started walking almost everynight and my new treat is Crystal light lemonade in the blender with ice cubes- like a lemon slushie- I drink it all the time- The fill didn't hurt at all---I mean it- I didn't even feel the needle prick- they sprayed some numbing spray, located the port with the x-ray and that was it- the worst part was the barium swallow! It was quick and easy- don't be worried about it at all. Good luck- be sure to post after your fill.
  19. Hello All- I had my first fill today 4.5 cc's, I believe- I think they said I had the 11 size band or something- Anyway- it was a piece of cake---I wish it was really cake! No- it was quick and painless- I was anxious over nothing! So- we'll see how the next few days go. I need to update my ticker....down 25 lbs so far- 10 pre-op and 15 post-op.

  22. I hear ya -lljpaisley- I do get full faster- but on mu nutriton guidelines it says to have 1-2 oz protein and 2 oz green beans for dinner- and 1/2 cup cottage cheese for lunch. I can't wait for that fill....
  23. Hi- My dr. had everyone do 2 weeks pre-op liquids and 2 weeks post- op liquids- the first week post op is clear liquids, week 2 is full liquids, weeks -4 are mushies and week 5 starts soft foods- My fill is scheduled on 7/20 and not a minute too soon- I have no restriction and am hungry.....I try to eat small portions- but I know I eat more than 4 oz, sometimes... Last night was pan seared Tilapia with lemon, olive oil, gearlic and capers- and green beans YUMMY. My nutrtionist said it's okay that I haven't lost since I stopped the liquid phase =she just said don't gain- I haven't- it's tough this in between stage. We can do it!!
