    Realize Band and nausea

Well I finally had my band taken out because after going to the GI Dr and having several tests done and everything coming back negative I thought the only thing it could be is my band. Well I did feel better after but still had some of the diarrhea but not as bad and eventually I have gotten back to normal. I just don't think my stomach was happy with something restrictive around it. I have kept my weight off and am still eating like I have the band and have also cut out flour, pasta, rich desserts...I do still eat rice but lots of vegs and protein. Feeling normal again and so happy about it. Unfortunately, still paying on my band....oh well.

Anyone have chronic diarrhea a year after surgery?

I have had my band in for 21 months and have also had terrible bouts with diarrhea....have had several different oscopys and ultrasounds....Gastro Dr. found nothing. Have decided to get my band out...don't want to have to live like this anymore.

    Need some information...

I'm having the exact same thing going on...if not diarrhea then very soft stools every day...so far I've had a colonoscopy, endoscopy, gallbladder ultrasound and everything came back normal. I do think it is the band. I'm going to see my lapband Dr. this Tuesday to schedule to have it out. I can't live like this anymore. I carry Immodium in my purse because I never know when the diarrhea will strike.

    Realize Band and nausea

I started having the same type of problems 21 months after being banded...have had colonoscopy, endoscopy, gallbladder ultrasound...haven't found anything. I'm thinking about having my lapband removed. Has anyone else had this problem?
  5. What were your symptons? I'm been having alot of diarrhea and nausea for months now. My gastro Dr. can't seem to find problem. I'm wondering if it could be my band.

    Diarrhea and stomache ache

I've had my lap-band for 19 months now and for the past 2 1/2 months I have been having diarrhea/stomach aches everyday. So I went to a gastro. Dr. and am to get a colonoscopy and an endoscopy in 2 wks so went to my lap-band Dr for a total unfil for my endo. Well, that very day I did start feeling better after my unfill, I only had 5.5 in my band so I didn't think it would make such a difference in how I felt but it did and now I don't have the stomache aches anymore and the diarrhea is gone. I really think it's my band that was making me feel this way. Has anybody else experienced this??? Thanks, Alice

    Delayed Menstrual Cycle

Hi Everyone, For the ladies, I was banded 1 month ago today and still have not started my period. Did any of u have a delayed menstrual cycle? I heard after surgery, which is considered trauma to your body, this can sometimes throw your cycle out of whack. How long does it take to come back regularly? Thanks, Alice

Although I haven't been banded yet (2 more weeks). My doctor says ginger tea will help with nausea. Hope this helps.

    Cymbalta??

Does anyone who has been banded take cymbalta? If so, how do you take it whole, or open it and sprinkled on applesauce, etc.? Thanks, Alice

    Cymbalta??

Yes, it is an anti-depressant. It's newer and also works on aches and pain in your body associated with depression. Also for me it hasn't made me eat everything in sight like other anti-depressants.

    Cymbalta??

Hi Dolly, Yes, they are the blue/white capsules 30 mg. Do you have to drink something hot like coffee or tea when you take them? I heard drinking something hot opens up the band. Thanks for the info. Alice
  12. Quick!!!! I'm being banded on the 25th and I need the list for stuff to buy and bring before I get banded. I just went this morning to Dr. Spivak's seminar and surprisingly got scheduled for surgery this friday. I thought I'd have more time to get everything ready. I really am soooo excited I can hardly type fast enough. I'd appreciate any advice for this soon to be newbie bandster. Thanks, Alice

Had Lap Band 2 days Ago

I went to a seminar today and the booklet I was given stated that left shoulder pain is caused from irritation of the muscle that separates the chest from the abdomen cavity. Pain should subside in a few days or less intense as the weeks go by.
  14. Jennifer, Did u ever make it to the seminar today? How was it? I go next Saturday.

6 months pics of the Junies (June 07 Bandsters)

Simply Me, Thanks for replying. The reason I asked is because I'm 5`8 @ 215 and have been turned down by a couple of Dr.'s for not having a high enough BMI. Although, I did find another Dr. today who will do my surgery. But of course it will have to be self pay which I expected.

    Hi from TX!

Hi JenniferZ, I'm also from Katy (fry/clay) area to be exact. I've done quite a bit of research myself for lab band Dr's. Trying to find one close to Katy so I won't have to drive so far for fills. I'm planning on calling tomorrow and get pricing from several Dr.s I found close to Katy, since I'll be self pay. I know there are at least 2 Dr.s with good credentials at the North cypress hospital who do LB surgery.

    Researching a doc

You can check the medical board from whatever state your from or the ASMBS American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
