  1. Neither am I, and I checked my blocked list...LBT isn't there. It's come and gone the last couple of months.
  2. I feel like I'm in a winter wonderland. And, I hate the snow.
  3. Over the weekend DH wasn't feeling well, so I let him pick. and we ended up watching a Saw marathon. Ick. I don't mind the actual plot of the movie - it's actually well written. It's just...well...ICK, EW, GROSS with a little OMG & WTF thrown in.
  4. I'm on new version, the Snowy White Weirdness theme. Thanks Donna...I emailed my ex (the neurotic CPA who categorized his money) and he fixed me up with a wicked formula that I never in a million years would have figured out. Yay for nerds. And, where have you been? (Need I ask... Mob wars?)
  5. I had a friend who would work the night shift and driving home he'd have the windows down (in freezing weather) and ad/dc playing as loud as possible. I had forgotten that! It definitely seems to get the adrenaline pumping!
  6. Friday - went to gym, despite almost talking myself out of it. ended up beating my mile time, and went 1.5 miles! I was surprised! Sat, went for walk (about 2 miles) w/the dogs, Sunday vegged at a festival and at home.
  7. WTG JuneAct! I really didn't want to go to the gym on Friday. I had talked myself out of it by the time I got to the house to pick up DD, but when I got there she was already dressed to go. So, I didn't even say anything to her about not going. I just got changed and went to the gym. I ended up beating my time, and was really into it. Saturday, we woke up early and went for a walk with the dogs. That was about a 2 mile walk. We walk to a park, then around the lake, then back home again. Sunday, I walked around a festival, but I did split a funnel cake with my mom and DD, so that may not count towards weight loss! :tt2:
  8. I'm trying to find something to listen to while running on the treadmill. I have a very old mp3 player and a blackberry that I can download music to. Any suggestions?
  9. Anyone an excel guru? I need help badly. I have two columns of information. One example is: H091234UIN, and in the next column it will say: ECCN123. Next row down I have H091234 that doesn't have anything beside it and I have to copy ECCN123 into the column beside the second number. (Make sense?) I have to do that for 50 spreadsheets that have about 6,000 lines on it, with different numbers and combinations.
  10. :w00t: You make me jealous! I'm from the DC area (NOVA) and really miss the zoo. We used to go all the time, since my friend was a live-in Nanny in Georgetown, right near the Uptown theater. I miss ALL of DC, really. In Houston, the zoo and the museums cost money to get into! Can you believe that??? lol That zoo is very hilly! You'll get a good workout there!

I have always been tight in the mornings, no matter what restriction I'm at...even when I was completely unfilled once for a month. I just usually drink a slim fast shake. With good restriction it takes me about an hour to get it all down, with looser restriction maybe about 10 minutes. I used to worry about it, but now not so much. I have to watch in the evenings though because I can normally eat more. If I eat more in night time, then in the morning my restriction is usually worse.
  12. I have no idea what patchooli smells like...or maybe I do and didn't recognize the scent? As a former stoner, I do freak my friends out because I like the smell of skunks. Shaving: I'm lucky enough to have fine, soft non-noticable hair, so I only shave legs like, once every 2 months during long pants season. Shorts weather means more frequent, just 'cuz. Pits, though? Every other day, cause ew! PJTP: Didn't move a muscle yesterday. Came home after appraisers left, and considered a nap. I laid down in the bed and then DD joined and talked about her day, which I'd never NOT listen to. Getting her to talk at all is a blessing! Then dogs joined, and that was the end of any nap I'd been thinking about! Had late dinner, watched recorded shows (Hells Kitchen, Survivor, The Office) and went to bed.
  13. Um, okay. So no gym today. Came home and two men were here appraising the house (it's currently on the market). They're supposed to tell us when folks are coming, since DD usually comes home by herself. Luckily today she stayed late at school, and wasn't there yet. I picked her up we just went to my mothers. I had my work clothes on so going to the gym wasn't really in the picture. Am home now, gym is still open but we're cooking dinner and doing homework. So, today I just got the work walk in and that's it. Okay....now go on and tell me about your 5 hour sweat-outs.
  14. 2pm went for walk around center. Not sure how far distance-wise it is, but I put on my tennis shoes and we weave around the parking lot at a fast pace for 20 minutes. About to leave work and head to the gym for my regular jog/walk/pant workout.
  15. :rolleyes2: Okay, here's my duplicate posting of exercise yesterday: -walk at work 20 minutes -jog/walk on treadmill at gym for 30 minutes (more walk than jog last night) -rode bikes with dogs (around block 3 times.) I was also under 1000 cals yesterday and that with the exercise I lost 2 pounds. I really needed that - I'd been at a plataeu forever.
  16. :rolleyes2: Yesterday walked around work for 20 minutes. (Got a sunburn, dang it.) After work, went to the gym, did my walk/jog for about 30 minutes. I did walk more than run yesterday though. I just couldn't get through it mentally. After the gym, went home and took the dogs around the block. I take the boxer first, then the lab (2 at a time may prove dangerous.) The lab (a.k.a. Crazy Eyes or Big Dumb One) is the one that is uncontrollable scared of everything, so once around the block took us by a kid on a big wheel, a man blowing leaves and 2 kids on bikes. She was very scared and I nearly got tossed off the bike. But, then I kicked it into a faster pace and she either had to keep up or die, so she chose well. I took her twice around the block and the 2nd time went by smooth sailing. I figure, I can't run that fast or that far with them and this is great exercise for them, as well as me. So, double bonus.

I haven't heard of those...where do you get them? I got a fill last Monday and that does help with how much I eat, but I am still trying to jump start a huge number like I used to have right after being banded. Just got back from the gym, as a matter of fact. I feel much better AFTER going...it's the getting there that I drag my feet.

I haven't tried Alli, but a friend did and lost 27 pounds and kept it off. This was a year ago. I have been thinking about it, just for a few weeks to kick start a weight loss. I'd ask my doctor first, but wanted to see if any lapbanders have taken it. Anyone take this after banding? If so, what happened? Anything good, or bad side effects? Thanks.
  19. Donna, I'm in! I don't HATE exercising but I really don't love it. If there is a distraction to be had, I'm there! I tend to make excuses (they're sometimes good) but I really don't like it and would like try to like it. I've been good the last couple weeks going to the gym in the afternoons after work. I'm only there about 1/2 an hour, though, but it's all my mind can take! I plan on going today, and doing my same old same old, which is run/walk on the treadmill. Actually, if I'm being more honest it's more of a jog/fast walk on the treadmill. I've read those super exercise posts too and I just feel so insignificant. But, like Lulu was saying, they all started somewhere, and we can use where they are now as inspiration. So, maybe one day I'll love it. Right now...not so much.
  20. yes! ordering out is hard. I see what others are ordering and think, "I could cut mine in 1/2" and then I get 2-3 bites into it and have to stop. Especially when in a group becuase I talk and for me, talking and eating don't mix.
  21. Okay, so a little birdie - or two - suggested that the weaker exercise enthusiasts come and post...so here I am. Again. The last few weeks DD and I have been going to the gym in the afternoons. We'd been trying for 6 months to go in the morning, but it wouldn't happen with her - at all. Ever. She's almost 12, so I really didn't like waking her up that early anyway, even if she could be awakened that early. For myself, mornings hate me and would kick my butt if I even thought of getting up without hitting snooze 3, 4, or 23 times. I didn't think about the afternoon because I'm a dork, I guess and it just didn't occur to me. I guess because it's more crowded in the afternoons and I'm still a little uncomfortable being that sweaty and gross in front of strangers. I don't remember why, but we went one afternoon and then DD and I went every day that week. As a reward we got our nails done. I didn't go yesterday because we had to clean up the house for the inspector to come today (we're TRYING to sell our house and have a good contract right now. I never count that until actually closing though, when everything has been signed.) I did take the dogs for a bike ride around the neighborhood, because I'm trying to train them to do that. I took one out, and then the other. I'm trying to work up to having both run along side me, but that's a ways off. Other than yesterday, DD and I have been steady going Mon-Fri and then we usually ride bikes or do yard work on the weekends. DD's routine is the bikes. She loves them and can go for miles on them. I hate them because the pedals make my feet sting. I'd rather be on a real bike. I do 5 minutes on the treadmill at a fast walk for a warm up. Then I alternate 2 minutes running and 1 minute of walking. The first 2-3 times of running feels really good. Then that last 2 minutes of running feels like HELL. I am sweating, huffy, puffy and breathing HARD. Including the warm up, I do 30 minutes. Part of me feels like an athlete, and the other feels like a blob of fat bouncing up and down. I guess I'm a little of both right now in my journey. I was lifting weights, and I know I should get back to it, but 1) I really don't know what I'm doing on them, and 2) I feel silly because all the "jocks" use them and I don't feel comfortable walking over to that section. (eGads, I know that sounds stupid, but it is what it is. I'm comfortable on the treadmills, so I stick with that for now.) Oh, and this week ladies and I started walking at work. It's just a quick, 20 minute walk around the complex, but I feel like it's something to keep me going mentally, even if it doesn't touch the 100 pounds I need to still lose! Okay, that's my "catch-up". Future posts will be shorter, with just the work out details.
  22. I'm kinda in between. I really like jogging/walking on the treadmill. I like riding my bike. But, after 30 minutes, I'm done. My mind wanders to all the things I need to be doing and I shut down.
  23. One thing that helps me is to know all the exercise gurus here (Mac, Lulu & Ceradad, just to name a few) used to be fat. Ya'll used to be overweight and not exercising (right?) and look how far you've come. So that does inspire me. But, posting: "Hey, I ran/walked for 30 minutes today" right after ya'll post: "Hey, I ran a marathon, then came back and swam for 5 million yards, then I wanted to take it easy so I just jogged for another 45 minutes before doing weights. Trying to go easy today." Yeah....I'm feeling a little insignificant after that! Even though I'm not at goal, I realized that I need to be thinking about eating the way you're talking about. Even if it means a slower loss for me, I want it the right way. I still eat until I'm full and that needs to stop. It hit me the other night that even though I can't eat the volume that I used to, I still eat until I feel like I have. So, I really need mental toughness for this part of my journey. I have 100 more to lose and I'll never get there if I continue the way I've been. Um, no. But, I am a need to feel it and see it kind of person. I get the basic theory of what you're saying, and it does satisfy me somewhat, but I'm still going to weigh in (more often than I should) and scream and cuss at the scale. Logic abounds... I do notice that pictures of me 5-10 pounds lighter look fatter than the ones now. Back then I wasn't exercising, so I was probably fattier than I am now. I do weigh every day, twice a day, before the shower, after the shower, with one shoe on, one shoe on my head...etc., but I only record it once a week at the same time of day. That keeps me a little bit sane.
  24. I think that Mike will suprise himself when they get home. He's still so young and he'll be going to college soon. He'll probably always love his dad, but I think those strings will be cut very soon. He's getting really cocky right now, but I think that is because of his age. I think they were smart, even though Ron's an asshat - Mike can still not become that. Ron's too old too really change, though, so I'm hoping Mike can push through. I did notice the similarities though when Mike dropped out of the challenge because he was scared of heights. That was very Ron-ish. I thought Kristen's speech was very bitter and childish. HELLO, yeah they're taking out the challenge - IMO they should have canned her last week, so at least they had a chance to redeem themselves with that. They were probably kicking themselves for keeping a big competitor in the game. Plus, who gained weight? I just hate whiney stupid bitchy things like that. You're in it for yourself, and Ron and Mike are father and son. Who in that house thinks that they'll break that? I mean, really...Just bow out with grace...YOU LOST, KRISTIN. Shut up and go home.
  25. That's that whole part about weight loss that I don't GET. How can 500 extra calories from Sat cause me to gain 2 pounds, that don't go away until somwhere in the middle of last night? I had dropped 7 from last Monday, over the weekend had 1500 cals on Sat instead of the 1000 that makes me lose weight and I had a 2 pound gain from it. WHY? & HOW? I've proven to myself that if I stay at 1000 I can lose or not gain. Anything above that (nearing 1200 - 1500 cals/daily) then I GAIN. WTH? :crying:
