That's great @ksoslo and @@nerms! So happy for you both!! I'm just logging in today after being off this site for a couple of months. I've been doing good but staying same for this past month. I'm down 23 lbs. I am getting better focused on what I'm eating and getting in walking to get back on track. I probably need another fill soon as well. Let's all keep in touch here. I need it!!

Hi there and congratulations! I am feeling so much healthier and happier -- loads of energy. I will be 53 in a few weeks and am grateful every day that I had the courage to get WLS. It felt like a drastic step but I knew dieting didn't ever work for me and that this was my chance at a healthy future I never considered anything except for the band and I love this lifestyle. If any one had told me I'd be a willing exerciser -- that I'd wake up wanting to do it -- I would have laughed in their face. But somehow that is what happened. I walked and walked even if I didn't want to and now I want to. Magic! And as for food, it's so simple: I eat when I'm hungry and I don't eat when I'm not hungry. The first part is harder than the second because I was so restrictive, always on a diet, now I'm not in a diet and I've lost sixty pounds. I still have a ways to go but I feel normal now. I'm unfurling my wings, speaking my mind and having a lot of fun being myself. Before I was so self-conscious -- now that I'm out of food jail I feel so free. Good luck with everything. I'm so glad I took this step. I'm down about 15 lbs and already feel such a difference. I too always went to WW without lasting success.

This morning I had first adjustment. 1.5ccs added to what was my empty band. Dr did under ultrasound and I was able to watch. Very cool. I had to drink something kind of nasty and watch it go down and through the band. I'll go back in six weeks just to his office to check adjustments from there. Loving this band so far. Hope to have some more weight off before my next visit. I can start doing some weight lifting exercises now so that should help too!

I cannot believe that I am finally at goal. I'll be honest, after my surgery I didn't even believe the band was going to work. Crazy thing is that I was a self-pay and was having those thoughts! I was so wrong! Today I am down 90 lbs, and loving my new body. It's not just the way you look in the mirror but how you feel when you are lighter. I just turned 30 this year and feel as though I restarted my life and am so motivated to continue to challenge my body. I've included my before and after pictures.

I'm 10 days post op and it's finally today that I feel much less bloated and swollen. Getting in the walking is making the difference.

I've been having soft scrambled eggs- one egg and one serving egg beaters with cheese mixed in. I've had some mashed potatoes, tuna fish and some crab cake. I'm vegetarian so I've mixed some refried Beans, hummus and salsa for lunch. I'm staying full and my strength is starting to grow. I'm looking for some more options to start adding. I'm getting about 850 calories a day. I hope I'm doing the right thing. My Dr has monthly meetings at his office with a nutritionist. I'm def going to take advantage of those!

Congratulations nerms! The third day was the worst for me but each day since has gotten progressively better. 8 days out feeling really good

In 2007, my 46 yr old husband of 19 yr passed away suddenly (a perforated colon). I was devastated. Thought I'd never again be happy.
It's now 7 yrs later, I've been remarried for almost 3 yrs. It took a good 3 yrs before I was even ready to start dating again. Losing 70 lbs definitely helped with my self esteem.
I can't believe how happy I am right now. I was so depressed that I spent 2 weeks in the psych hospital while they worked out my meds, fearing that I would harm myself...
Everyone has a sad story I guess. I can't believe all the stories I've read here today. Sad

Happy to be home resting on meds. Got the Clear Liquids I need. Had to stop at 7-11 and bombarded with donuts and cupcakes and junk at every turn. So happy to have this ability to start a new life. Like a re-boot.

Thanks everyone for sharing your experience! It's really helpful in preparing for surgery. I had to switch surgeons (long story) but on plus side my surgery is moved up two days to the 22nd finally!!! I am so looking forward to moving on with this area in my life. Please continue to keep us updated. So happy to see everyone making out so well!
