Tomorrow is my day...I can't wait. I've gone thru the I can do this without surgery talk with myself and know that without the surgery I would just lose weight, like in the past and regain it again. I'm so happy to know that I will always have this little tool with me to help me keep my weight in line. It has been a rough 6 months but I have finally arrived. And arrived 40 pounds lighter,I might add!. I'm am so happy that I have followed everything I've been told to do. Now for an uneventful surgery and a quick recovery!

I haven't posted here for awhile. I've been approved. My surgery date is April 8th.:confused_smile: I can't wait to be on the losers bench! Now I must attend a three hour education meeting. :thumbup::thumbup::tt2::thumbup::eek::thumbup:

Today was weigh-in #5. Lost another 3 pounds. Much slower weight loss since I'm not walking on a daily basis. I can't wait for the weather to clear up just a bit. The Dr's office will mail my packet after my next weigh-in on March 3rd. I really thought that 6 months would take sooo long, but the time has flown by quickly. Total pre-op loss is now 22 pounds. Yeah!!!

4 months supervised diet done, 2 to go...

I weighed in this morning...down 2.5 pounds for the month. I guess that's not bad considering the holidays were happening.
I'm a bit disappointed, but at least I didn't gain. YEAH! So now I'm done 19 pounds. Oh well, I still have 2 months to lose another pound. I was told I needed to lose 20 pounds during this 6 month period. Any pound gone is one less I have to carry around with me.:whoo:

I haven't updated this for awhile. I've lost another 8 pounds! Total 16.5 pounds lost! YEAH!!!! :whoo:I thought I'd never get thru 6 monthly visits with the doctor. Three visits down and three to go. The fourth one is 01/03/2008. The Dr's office has all my paperwork in their hands. . My supervised diet is half done! I don't feel that I have been as successful this month as I was the last two. Oh well, it is what it is. I'm trying very hard to stay within 1200 calories, but some days it is harder than others.:faint: One day at a time.....one day at a time.....It's also the holidays. I know I shouldn't use that as an excuse....I still feel like I've made great accomplishments. I no longer drink pop....wait to drink after my meal....still trying to eat slower and to practice chew, chew, chew. One day all of these things will be second nature. I hope anyways! With the weather changes it makes it harder to walk daily, but I can use On-demand and get the exercise channel to continue working out.

Had my appointment with the pulmonologist and the cardiologist yesterday! Yeah, they are done.:clap2: The pulmonologist said he will send a letter to the Dr. giving his approval! Yeah! :clap2:The cardiologist said I have to come back one month before surgery for a prescription of beta blockers. He wants me to take them for a month before and after surgery. Yeah! Now I just have to work on the six month supervised diet. Next appointment is
11-01-07. :whoo:Trying to keep on track..Walking almost daily and really watching the calories. At both of these appointments I weighed in 2 pounds less.:whoo:

Well, I've gone to a nutrition class and got lots of the same old information on diets that I've tried plenty of times before. I'm doing these diets again because if I don't I won't be able to get approved.
Had my psych evaluation last night. I think it went well. I've been walking almost daily with my neighbor. We take a diffent route so that the scenery is different. Will probably join a gym by the end of the month, yeah, I get to spend more money that I don't have...:car:..just
to improve my chances of being approved. I don't understand why the insurance companies make us jump thru the hoops. I have my appointment with the pulmonologist and cardialogist for 10-17-07. Once I get my appointments done then I can start looking for another job. I know I sound discouraged but I'll be damned if I'm going to let the insurance company discourage my getting healthy. Well today I had my first visit with Dr. Joyce. I will go to a class on 10-02-07. I will make appointments for my visits with the pulmonologist, cardiologist and the psychologist. I will wait for insurance approval and hope that all goes well. I know it may be at least six months before I can become a "bander" I can't wait!!!!! My new life as a healthy person is only just beginning! Sounds like a song!:whoo:

I'm on my way!

I'm on my way to a new life! :clap2: I took my first step on 8/22/07 and went to a seminar. My first Dr's visit is on 9/28/07. I can't wait to complete my journey. I'm excited to find this web site and to learn more about what I will be doing in the future. I will learn about the trials and tribulations that you are going thru and I will learn from them. I've struggled forever with a weight problem. The fat kid no one wanted on the team in a gym class. The fat teen who didn't date. The mother who gained more and more weight with each pregnancy. I remember weighing 170 pounds when I got married and thought I was fat then..now I'm over 280 pounds and find it hard playing on the floor with my young grandchildren. I want to play and run with them without being out of breath and taking a break. Of course I regret not watching how much I ate before and I thank God my children do not have weight problems. This site will be an additional support for me, and believe me I need support. I will do this and I will do it well! Look out world, a new me will emerge!
