What's the timeline for eating some of these typical foods?
Im 6 weeks out and i usually eat 1/2 cup oatmeal with fresh blueberries or 1/2 cup egg whites with cheddar cheese and mushrooms. 1/2 cup of tuna made with FFmayo or sliced turkey with salsa 3 oz chicken, cod, shrimp, or ground turkey with some green beens, or broccol I tried salad=ouch not again for a while. I liked something I heard or reAd that we should chose 21 days out of the year to do as we choose. The rest we eat as nutritionally as we can. But I did this to get healthy, so I need to work the sleeve the best I can, while LIVING.

How long until you had your first drink?
Mine said 6 weeks. Im not much of a drinker and being type 2 diabetic I really shouldn't. I like the idea of moderation in all things.

Not even been to the appointment yet.....
I read as much as I could about all 3 options. My decision came down to this. I didn't want for an object my body so no lap band and I also thought the idea of messing around with my small intestines was nasty from what I read about bypass a lot of the negative was the malabsorption of nutrients and so I decided I want to keep my small intestines just limit the size of my stomach so sleeve it for me I'm now almost 6 weeks out I still do get hungry but nothing near as bad as I used to I am cutting down on high blood pressure medicines on type two diabetes medicines and I have so much energy I love my energy.

Anyone going through True Results Houston?
I went through them, had Dr. hollis, my insurance would not cover my sleeve but covered my herrnia. So im paying them 6900. I liked the dr. And the nurses were fantastic. I was the only sleeve on my day so I got to stay in their surgey center by myself with 2 nurses over night. It was 1 st class service. But i feel like ive been cheated out of a lot. I never met with a nutritionist, i has blood work and a ERG and thats all the preop they did. And the post op has been minimal to say the least.

Type 2 Diabetes?
Great thread. I have been type 2 for 2 1/2 years now. I am 5 almost 6 weeks post surgery. I had blood drawn Friday and go in next friiday to discuss. I am hoping that some of the meds will go. I am on Metformin (1000 twice a day) and Januvia (100mg in the am) and I am down now to 1/2 my HBP meds. I have cut down my Metformin at night to 500 because I was waking up jittery with a low sugar of 55 3 days in a row. Since cutting it in half I am waking up to a fasting 70. My BP on 1/2 is 95/60. So hoping to drop that soon. Losng almost 40 lbs these last 2 months has been nice but I did this to be healthy
