  1. My husband has gone through ready4achange and his surgery was scheduled for monday. We were just told he has a new surgeon. Anyone have eperience with this. Information is vety hard to get from them
  2. I am almost one year out and have gone from 234 pounds to 145. I am thrilled with my weight loss but not with my very flabby stomach. Has anyone done surgery to repair the loose skin? I will have to pay and don't know if I should or not. Any advice ?
  3. I was sleeved in Mexico on July 1st. I lost 18 pounds before surgery and have lost 50 pounds since then. I am feeling discouraged with myself. I know it sounds like lots of weight but I am afraid of this slow down in the last few weeks. Has anyone else had experience with this? I have been tracking my food and going to the gym and I work full time. I am 58 and want this to work. How long will the weight loss continue? I have heard a year or six months. I am confused. Any advice? Anyone going through the same thing or has gone through the same thing?

    Stalled for 6 weeks!

I feel so discouraged by my stall which has been six weeks. I am noting that I can eat a lot more and am tending to go back to my pre surgery habit of eating my stress. I feel so down about it. Any words of wisdom?

Make sure you are getting enough protein and liquids AND increase aerobics and weights.

Why is my Pre-op diet so long?

I was sleeved on July 1st and chose to do one month before on a liquid diet. I felt great going into surgery and had no complications. I was told it was a head start on weight loss and I am glad I did it that way.
  8. I am four months out of surgery and am having a terrible time with constipation. Any suggestion? Any one else having this problem? What can I take and what can't I take? Thanks
  9. I have gone back to work after the summer break and people are shocked at how much weight I have lost. I have been honest with the people I work with and told them I had surgery. I have noted a complete difference in how some people react. Some are so supportive and some openly sneer. It is so frustrating that some people think obesity is just a matter of eating better and getting exercise. It is not. I am not a stupid person and if it was that easy I wouldn't have gotten obese in the first place. I wish there was more education and research on obesity and it wasn't a blame game. Thanks for the rant.
  10. I am loving my jiggly bits. They remind me of what I am losing and where I was.
  11. Can we take Advil after Gastric Sleeve surgery?
  12. Thanks for the candid photos. I too am from BC and was sleeved on July 1st. I am noting skin in my arms but still have a lot of weight to come off. I am really pleased to here from other BC weight loss surgery people.
  13. Nice to talk to a fellow July 1st sleever. I have lost 26 pounds since the day of surgery and 44 since June 1st when I started the presurgery diet. I am still thrilled with the surgery but it is hard to follow the food rules when family gatherings are going on. I haven't hit any stalls yet but am waiting for one to hit. How are you?

    gastric sleeve

I went to Mexico as self pay. I went to Tijuana and had Dr. Garcia. I had a great experience and would recommend him to anyone. It was not an easy decision to make but I am truly happy I did it.
  15. Yesterday I posted about feeling hungry. I reread my packet from the surgeon and noted that I was on week three and tried the diet suggested. I cut out the yogurt because I bought it with added sugar and stopped the premade protein drinks. I ate an egg, cottage cheese and refried beans and had no hunger. I think I was using too many premade things and they have added sugar. Hope this will help others if they have the same issue.
  16. Hi July sleevers, I was sleeved on July 1st. I am down 39lbs including my pre surgery loss. I have a lot of pain in my upper stomach and was wondering if anyone else had that problem. I am having a down day for the first time since surgery and wondering what the heck I did to myself. I am sure it won't last but just want to hid today.
  17. I am 11 days out from VSG and have felt great. Today I woke up feeling headache and belly bloat. I feel tired and sick. Anyone else have this experience? Yesterday I had family things so I did a two hour car ride and lots of standing but remembered to drink lots of Water. Any suggestions?
  18. So nice to see so many Canadians on here. I am from BC and was sleeved on July 1st in Mexico. Good luck all
  19. Hi everyone, how many calories are you eating a day. I am six weeks out from VGS and was eating 500 to 600 a day. Then I re read my instructions and realized I wasn't drinking my protein drinks. Then I added them in and I am now eating 800 to a 1000. I am gaining weight [2 pounds] in the last three days. What should I do? Anyone had experience with this problem. Am I eating too much, I am on mushie foods. Scrambled egg, half a piece of toast, tuna and mayo with 4 soda crackers, and Chili with beans for supper. Then two protein drinks. I measure the tuna and It is 1/2 a cup and the chili is 1/2 cup too. I would appreciate anyone else who was sleeved on July 1st or there about helping me out with this problem. Thanks
  20. I too am the fat person at the skinny gym but I have been going for two years. I had to get over being afraid of being judged for my weight. I have started back after my surgery [July 1st] and it is so much easier to do everything. Keep going , it is worth it
  21. Hi there, I am 57 years old and 5'6", I weighed 230 lbs June 1 which is when I started the pre surgery diet. I had my surgery in Mexico on July 1st and am 40 days out from surgery and weigh 191.6 pounds. I have lost about 2 pounds a week. I won't tell you it has been easy but it is worth it. I would remind you to follow the food guide you are given . It is important, I messed up and got ahead and suffered for it. Good Luck and you are taking a great big first step to health. Go for it
  22. I have not been following the diet plan. I thought I was doing everything right but when I went back and looked I wasn't. I have been moving too quickly and am now paying for it. I have pain in my stomach. I will do better now. We do harm when we think we know what to do.

    Portion Control

So glad others are having this issue too. I just started real food . I put it off because I was so afraid of over eating. Was I surprised to find I couldn't over eat. I finally am starting to trust my surgery and listen to what my stomach is telling me. I am one month today and tried a chewing food for the first time. I thought well I will mix tuna, mayo and cottage cheese. I got three bites down and had to stop. So glad I did this because I really can't trust myself to limit what I eat, I needed this surgery. I haven't had a weight loss stall yet and have lost 2 lbs a week for the last two weeks. I was feeling sad about it but realize I am still going down. So happy I finally did it.
  25. anyone have some ideas for good recipes . I am assuming it is low carb , high protein. Is there a book or site that has good ideas. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
