  1. @@FATBGONE - I'm the same way! I still have hunger and my sleeve let's me eat almost anything! I'm losing slowly but I think that's a good thing. I have a really hard time remembering to get my protein in. I get busy and just drink some flavored water to shut up my tummy from growling. I've got to start doing better. I can definitely tell the difference with my weight loss when I get all my protein in. As for going back to work, I went back to work 10 days after my surgery. I felt really good. I work a desk job from home so that made all the difference. Plus I just think I'm a fast healer and bounce back fairly quickly.

Forgive me for I have sinned

My doctor told me that the pouch won't stretch that much because when they cut part of the stomach out it's the part that stretches the most. So, I wouldn't worry about stretching your sleeve.
  3. What did you eat to cause that?
  4. I just had my sleeve surgery with Dr. Quinones on October 23, 2014. His staff is great and I love the nurses! I didn't have hardly any pain afterwards and just a little gas pain. One of the staff even took me for a walk outside so I could get some fresh air. I went alone and was well taken care of from beginning to end. I do recommend Dr. Quinones and his staff.
  5. Dr. Quinones sutures over the entire staple line.
  6. No, I can't say that I do... Not yet at least.
  7. Well the main person in my life that I didn't want to tell is my mother and I'm not able to dump her. ???? The reason is that she would worry herself sick. I mentioned it once and she started sending me information about different diets. i mean lots of emails! She wouldn't be very supportive but that's just who she is. She's 5'0 and maybe 125lbs. She's never had much of a weight problem so she doesn't understand what I'm going though. It's OK, I'm the type of person who really doesn't need a support system. My husband has been there for me and that's really all I need.
  8. Peek...I need to lose 150 lbs. I currently have lost 14.2 lbs since October 23rd which was my surgery date! It's not moving super fast but, that's about a pound a day and I can definitely live with that! ????
  9. I didn't tell anyone but my husband and he's been my support through these past two weeks being sleeved. He tried to think of different things i can drink so I don't get to bored. I have 6 grown kids and I just stayed away for the first week so I could adjust. We lead a very busy crazy life so it wasn't suspicious at all that I was gone. Although I think my daughter in law is suspicious... She will ask me what I'm allowed to have and how I'm feeling. She would be totally supportive but she would tell my son and I don't want him to worry. Like others have said, this is private and if you don't want anyone to know then you don't have to tell them.
  10. Peek... That's exactly my situation! I had a hard time getting my liquid in for the first few days but when day 5 hit I was able to get all protein and liquid in without much of an issue. If I didn't have my little xray of my swallow test showing my tiny tummy I wouldn't believe it either. I also haven't had any problem with gerd. I was worried about that before surgery even though I didn't have a problem then either. Im grateful it's all gone smoothly and I'm trying to keep it that way.
  11. OK thanks peek! After the fourth day it's been pretty easy and it makes me paranoid... Lol. Silly, I know. I'm really looking forward to mushies!!! ????
  12. Good morning fellow October sleevers! I've got a question... This Thursday will be my 2 week surgi-versary and I am able to take a pretty normal swallow of liquid. I don't take more than one at a time but it doesn't feel bad at all of I take more than a little sip. Is this normal at this point?
  13. I had surgery October 23 and today was my first day back at work. I haven't had any issues but, I work from home at a desk so that makes a huge difference! I really think everyone is different so whatever works for you individually is what you should do! ????
  14. Hey all! It's been 7 days since my surgery (if you count surgery day as day one) and I'm doing great! I'm down 5.6 lbs since my surgery and am super happy with that! I'm honestly surprised how good I feel at this point. I have no pain to speak of and I have no problem getting my protein in every day. Tomorrow I get to start on full liquids and I'm excited to have yogurt! I'm getting sick of sweet but have been adding protein to my broths. The shakes aren't bad at this point but I'm looking forward to not having to drink them anymore. Has anyone tried Kefir? If so, what kind did you buy and what did you mix it with? Or did you just drink it plain?
  15. Just find a surgeon that you're comfortable with then email or call them to start the process. Most of the time they have a form you fill out on their website and then they contact you. It happens pretty quick when you get it started. Let me know if you have any other questions!
