  2. I have had natural hair for over 10 years. I experienced moderate loss and increased breakage. I am a year out and although my hair had thinned out it is coming back in nicely. I recommend finding a good moisturizer.
  3. I ate them around 6 to 8 weeks out.
  4. I was 32 when sleeved. I personally would not have had this surgery at 22, because I don't feel that I was responsible enough to maintain compliance. To be honest it has been one hell of a battle to stay on track. In all it is ABSOLUTELY worth it, and if you know you are ready...GO FOR IT!
  5. She might have been told to hold off if she was on blood thinners.
  6. If I order anything it is a small cup of soup. I have 2 small boys, and if I absolutely need a bite of something they generally will share with me. I ordered food once or twice, and found that I still am highly likely to overeat when a massive plate of food is put in front of me, so I pass.
  7. I am 5 months out today. I still battle with the gas.
  8. CONGRATULATIONS!!! It's really great to hear stories of success while on this journey. I really thought I was ready for this, but I am tested emotionally/psychologically daily. This is harder than I ever imagined, but if I had to do it again I would.

  10. I am 4 months out and asked the doctor for something to help stabilize my mood, b/c I know it isn't fair to my family how up and down my mood is. This is when I started my relationship with Prozac...I love it.
  11. I LOVED sushi pre sleeve, but have only managed to get 2 bites down since the . I still go out with friends for sushi but settle on a small bowl of miso Soup and edamame.

  13. I recently upped my exercise to 40 minutes on the elliptical 5 times per week, followed by 20 minutes of light weights, as well as walking 30 minutes of brisk walking throughout the day while at work. The problem is I am so exhausted that I fall asleep at my desk. I upped my intake to about 1000 calories per day and my weight teeter totters btwn 2 lbs. I feel like I am going nowhere fast. What are some of your exercise regimens and what does you r intake look like?
  14. I'm 2 months out and don't swallow any pill whole. I crushed my bp meds until I was 4 weeks out, and now I break it up in 1/4. I also open capsules.
  15. One week out I was comfortable on my side and by 2 1/2 weeks out I was on my stomach.
  16. I craved my husband's grilled Top Sirloin steak from abt the end of week 2 to abt week 6. So I ate it. pureed that is and thinned with a garlic and onion flavored beef broth...sooooo good!
  17. I had a wee bit of coke zero this weekend. I threw a pinch of baking soda in it to kill the bubbles, and had no problem.
  18. My surgeon cleared me 2 weeks out.
  19. I only had a 24 hour pre-op diet. About 2 weeks out I traded lunch for a Protein shake. At that point I also cut out coffee and struggled to cut out alcohol, I ate clean. Pretty much lean meats and vegetables only.
  20. I took Carafate every 6 hours for 3 weeks, and had little to no discomfort. I have been off of it for 9 days now and my stomach feels a little acidy.
  21. If you took Carafate after surgery, how long did the doctor prescribe you to take it?

  23. Hbg lady Sorry to hear you are struggling. I had a really hard time drinking Water up until last Thursday. I tried eating ice and that worked just fine. I bought route 44 cups of ice from Sonic( the itty bitty pieces) and chewed and swallowed. I have read that intake will get easier once the swelling in your stomach goes down. I hope you get to feeling better soon.
