ONE-derland finally reached!
Drum roll please.... I am ecstatic to announce that today I weighed in at 199!! It's been about a good 30 years since I had been under the 200's!! I was sleeved almost 4 months ago, have lost as of today a total of 55 lbs and feel AMAZING!!!! I want to thank God for giving me the courage to get WLS, my amazing surgeon, Dr. Goyal and his team from NJ Bariatric Center and my super supportive friends!! 34 lbs more to goal! YESSSSS!!!!!! I am sooo happy!!
-
Today is the first day of the rest of my life...
Good Luck!! You're going to be soooo happy in a few weeks....!!!!

Best NJ doctors list? And why?
I too went with NJ Bariatric Center -- Dr. Goyal! They are the BEST! i TOO have had zero complications, an awsome smooth recovery and couldn't not have been happier with their services!!!

Stall every 10lbs ish...
Yeah me too -- and now after more than 50 lbs, I've been stalled for nearly 3 weeks, only losing about 1 lb. Ugh, frustrating but hey, at least I'm not gaining. I'm told to eat "real" food, treat myself a bit for a few days then go back to strict dieting - mostly Protein and it starts to rapidly come down again...
-
Hardest thing i have ever done !
In less than 2 weeks you won't remember this phase. You'll feel really good and 3 weeks from now, you'll feel TERRIFIC! This too shall pass and you will feel like this WLS is the BEST thing you've done for yourself in your life! Trust me! I am almost 4 months out, 53 lbs down, energy levels ridiculously high and feel AMAZING. I am the happiest and healthiest I have been in over 30 years...!! Just get your walking in, your Protein and your Water. Good Luck!

Finally!

4 days Post Op and I feel like poo :( insight, please!
OK --- it gets better....much sooner than you think. First of all, the "bad pain in your chest" is GAS. You HAVE HAVE HAVE to walk it off --- it's the only thing that really helps. Try Gas X strips -- but honestly, they did nothing for me, the walking helped TREMENDOUSLY!!! Walk every two hours --at least! Walk during the night also. take small sips of Water constantly and think Protein first. By day 7 -- IF you follow my lead and walk walk walk, I guarantee you'll feel super great!! WALK WALK WALK WALK WALK WALK WALK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck, let us know how you're doing.

several week stall
Sorry to hear of your problems sweety, hopefully all be ok. I'm (thankfully) not having any personal issues at the moment, I am almost 4 months post op and have been at a stall for over 3 weeks now, barely losing a pound here, a pound there. Frustrating... good luck!

One week out whats "normal?"
It's normal -- it's gas and you need to walk it off. Gas X helps but the only thing that will ACTUALLY TRULY help is walking! Walk walk walk walk walk --- even in the middle of the night, if you feel discomfort, WALK! I ate pureed after 2 weeks because I actually felt hungry, I ate it very slowly and it sat very well with me. Try eating home-made oatmeal, it sat super well, as did the fat-free plain greek yogurt (lots of protein), also Protein shakes. Good Luck, this too shall pass and you'll be feeling great very soon. But remember..... walk, walk, walk, walk walk!

Dehydration
sugar free pops help with the fluids intake -- but sip on Water constantly. Once you're hydrated you'll feel great!
-
Gas
walk walk walk walk walk walk walk walk .... I can't stress it enough... WALKING is really the ONLY thing that will help. Walk walk walk , even overnight, get up and walk.

Patience is key. At about 3 weeks out it begins to creep back and at 5 weeks out, you'll feel like running, never tire.

So you can get fat again?
Getting sleeved is not a magical solution to weight loss -- it's a tool -- a great tool to get you to change your eating habits, from huge portions to smaller portions, from bad foods that are not good for you to healthy foods and make a lifestyle change. It's a "forever" lifestyle people! When you get sleeved and lose all this weight so soon it's a huge incentive to want to stay this way, lighter and healthier so you use that "tool" which was your WLS to stay eating right for life. Your mind will still want the huge portions and the food that's not healthy for you but it's up to you to say to your mind, nope, I went through surgery, I lost all this weight, I will keep being good and keep the weight off and stay healthy and happy and fit! I'll tell you from my own experience, I've lost 50 lbs, I still have about 35 more to go and I will never gain the weight back. I love how I feel, how I look, how others praise me all the time, and yes it's not easy and yes the wanting all the bad foods is still there but I will fight it endlessly and continue to enjoy the new me! Good luck to us all... let's fight this and stay healthy!

does anyone else feel that nothing else matters?
I can totally relate, that's how I was months before my WLS! I was super focused, super excited and I looked forward to it like looking forward to an important event. The day of the WLS I wasn't nervous at all, I was excited and could not wait to get it done and looked forward to my future with happiness and anticipation. Well, now 3 and a half months out, 50 lbs LESS I know why I was so excited, because it IS! I love my new me, my new outlook in life, my new energy and not to mention new much small sizes in clothing (I went from a size 22 down now to a size 14)~~!!! This forum is amazingly helpful and incredibly informative so keep on it, read more and more and stay away from the few negative ones -- stay positive and go for it! It's amazing and you're going to feel terrific and look gorgeous! I've already talked two friends into WLS and they say I should be a spokesperson for it lol, I love it! Good Luck!!
