  1. I have a desk job. I was off for a totL of 8 work days and I was fine, except for being very tired at the end of the day. I would have been very bored if I'd stayed home any longer.
  2. I took off a total of 8 work days
  3. Obviously the "rules" vary from program to program..I have been permitted grains since puréed foods. I have opted not to eat them, but if could. I do use other sources of binders, but I have been low carb for about two years.
  4. You can also add twice the amount of powder and blend with soy milk or ff milk.
  5. I made ramen without the noodles. Sometimes I added tofu that I whirred in the blender. I thought the unjury was a waste.
  6. I'd like to hear some responses to this question as well.
  7. I detoxed myself from coffee pre op too. I didn't want to deal with withdrawal from caffeine after surgery. But to answer your question, my doc was ok with coffee pre op.
  8. The psych should be evaluating to make sure you understand the risks and benefits, have an adequate support system, are willing to so whTever is required to be successful and that sort of thing. He/she should also be checking to make sure you're not psychotic or manic or suicidal.
  9. If you mix it with soy milk you count thT protein too. My surgeon recommends 60 gr of protein as a minimum. You can only metabolize so much protein at a time.
  10. Well this gives me something to look forward to!???? I'm 5 1/2 weeks out and I am dying for real veggies! I am supposed to wait till 2 months post op.
  11. Water and walking a lot working for me, finally
  12. I have the same concern about the skin but I will cross that bridge when I come to it.
  13. Nice to meet you Keith. I had my surgery 6/25. I'm really glad I did it and sorry I waited.
  14. I went to decaf after a few weeks. Now I drink half caf a few times/week, and one cup of real coffee/week. I am afraid of coffee as an irritant. I don't believe I will ever go back to my old caffeine habit.
  15. Yes! I find it frustrating too, and I wonder whether these folks are getting no guidance from their providers or they go into this blindly or are just not paying attention
  16. You can google it. For five days per week you eat a reasonable diet, and for the other two you don't eat more than 500 calories.
  17. That would be the cooked weight.
  18. For about three or four days after surgery I had the same thing. It was the body's way of working on getting rid of all the extra fluid from the surgery and IV.
  19. I had made. Sorry
  20. I hat mDe a list of things I really like that are high in protein and low in carbs. Some I can't eat yet until I start real foods. But my list is SHORT. A lot of fish and veggies. Occasional chicken. Rarely, fruit because it has to be exactly ripe and perfect! Of course I love grains and breads but they're not on my list. No sweets. So yes, it's a little limiting but at least I'll enjoy my meals.
