Thank you for the compliment, i try my best to be objective. And i completely agree with you, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and this is exactly what forums are for.
And i even agree with charlottekat to an extent in regards to weighing yourself frequently if you are in the right headspace.
However, personally attacking another member is not okay, putting people down and bullying them and basically being disrespectful to them because they do not agree with you is not the way it should be.
The actual person or their habits, looks, bmi etc shouldn't be part of the equation.
This is what i have an issue with, not the differences of opinion... everyone is entitled and has a different opinion... people shouldn't get mean in a personal way just because another doesn't agree.
As they say... people should just agree to disagree ????

Wow, I am amazed by how people can ignore research that proves you need to weigh daily. It takes maturity to accept the uncomfortable things that you must do after weight loss surgery. Weighing yourself is one of those things. Just because you fall apart after seeing the number on the scale doesn't mean you have a valid excuse to avoid it.
Weighing yourself daily is highly useful feedback in your long term journey. It should be as basic as brushing your teeth or getting dressed each day. Fluctuations become far more tolerable when you see them repeat on a regular basis. Identifying trends in how your weight changes is super helpful. You'll know when to buckle down and when the fluctuation is just Water weight.

Go to a nude beach and show everyone what you got!!!
In all seriousness, I just want to throw it out there that CharlotteKat is a very dear friend of mine and she looks absolutely amazing. I met her in the fall and cannot believe how stunning and beautiful she looks. I had the surgery about a year before she did and she inspires me every day to stay on the "program". She is a shining example of a success story.

I was one week into my two week pre-surgery fast and my doctor cancelled my surgery indefinitely. He "claimed" that he had some issue with another bariatric surgeon that he had to work out before he could do any more surgeries. I was devastated. When I got home, I Googled him and saw his mug shot on line. Turns out he was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and THAT is what he was dealing with. I had to find another surgeon and go through the whole process again. Three months later I finally had the surgery done by a really good doctor. Glad I dodged the bullet of having a crazy man do my surgery.

I would slow down, and start working on my relationship with food, Now!! As much as this journey is physical, the mental part will sneak up on you and it can be hard to deal with. My doctor advised against having a food funeral.. she said why? What is the point? That mentality is why we are here today. Your surgery is a tool that you have to physically and mentally work with. It isn't a cure all on its own. I started enforcing new lifestyle changes immediately. I started meal prepping... walking on my treadmill 3-4 x a week. Building my endurance and stamania.. I stopped drinking 30 minutes before meals and 30 after.. I started making better food choices if I had to eat out.. chewing my food to applesauce consistency... I took this gift very seriously up until I was sleeved this past wendesday.. and even worked harder on myself during the 2 week pre op diet. I would reconsider your choices leading up to surgery. I've seen many struggle after surgery because they didn't think to start enforcing the lifestyle changes prior to surgery. And you can still eat and drink whatever you want, in moderation. One must always be mindful of their eating or you will fail.

This will be the best decision you've ever made for yourself. I'm sure that doctor was just trying to see what kind of reaction she'd get from you. That was really uncalled for though. Stay tough and strong and know that you are doing the right thing for yourself.

I don't know, maybe you are not far enough down the road yet to experience it but easy or even easier, no way. Not for me.
I have had to fight for every single pound lost. I don't get dumping syndrome and could pretty much eat anything I wanted. I also have a degenerative spine and psoriatic arthritis which makes working out so very difficult. Yet I know I have to get up and get moving every single day.
My life revolves around making good eating choices, getting all my Water and Protein in. If I don't do these things I stall sometimes for as long as a whole month. I have to be so on purpose about what I eat which impacts my family as well. It is not simple or easy to make the decision that I don't want to cook today.
That means I have to figure out where we are going to eat because my food plan is the most restrictive. My family is extraordinarily accommodating but they can't make food decisions for me and if I let them, they would make the wrong choices and I would stall again.
Maybe it's different for me but I find this very very hard work. It is worth it every time I step on the scale and it goes in the right direction. Or every time I try on a smaller size and it actually fits. Or every time I cross my legs or sit cross legged on the floor.
All worth it but so very difficult to do, at least for me.
I have lost hundreds of pounds over my 52 years. I usually have no problem losing, it is keeping it off that never works. I am bound and determined to never let that happen again. I suspect that will be the hardest part of my journey yet. I thank god I have this tool to help me but I know that it will not ever be easy for me.

@@JLT1971 You posted this, so I assume you want some honest responses, so here goes.
I guess I'd ask why do you care what anyone else eats? Why are you keeping score? You laid out a very detailed account of what everyone else ate. How is this helping you at this point? I'd say stop judging everyone else and keep your eyes on your own plate.
I'd also ask myself why you want to "match" what they eat....all those artificial sweeteners and sugar alcohols etc. aren't that great for you. So, you trying to convince others to eat the poison...is like trying to lead ants to Aspartame or Splenda. They don't want that, they already know that's worse for them, than real sugar. They want the real thing. I don't blame them. You could have easily enjoyed a few chunks of fruit, with natural sugars, and that should have been sufficient, and would have been healthier. You are on, or "should" be on, another path. Away from all of that, and towards health.
Look if you want sympathy, someone may give it, but if you want honesty, and I think you really wanted honesty. It sounds like you could benefit by looking into food addiction issues with a therapist. Why you want those foods, and why you feel left out, and are upset about what others get and you don't, is a clear sign you have issues to work on. The only reason I know this, is because I spent a lifetime doing the same, and finally got the help I needed. That's my honest opinion. You seem to want help, and there is help out there for you. But you have to take the first step.
I wish you luck, with everything! I'm not a mean person, just blunt, and to the point. I blame my Sagittarianism on that. lol

I make my own pickles and eat tons of them each day. I just use salt, vinegar, splenda and little celery seed. That's it and they are SO good and they keep me busy eating. Love them! If anyone wants the exact recipe, let me know.

I'm eating between 700 and 900 cals a day. I'm still working on my goal weight and plan to stay eating this amount until I go into my maintenance stage. At that time I'll slowly go up in cals until I can maintain my weight.

Hang in there. It may get worse before it gets better but it WILL get better! I lost lots of hair between 4 and 9 mos, then it began to regrow. My hair is thickening once again (I'm 15 months post op). I kind of like my new shorter length - I started keeping it short because it helped disguise the fact that it was so thin! Short hair never looked good when I was huge but I like it now! :-)

Count each lost hair as a victory along your journey. If you feel you need a wig, get one for now. Forget the rogaine. Your hair WILL grow back! It's a reaction to anesthesia and rapid weight loss and it just is what it is. If you're getting your Protein or not, it's going to happen. You will be beautiful with a new hairstyle for now!!

2 lbs a week is 2 lbs a week...Where is the problem with that!? There are a lot of people who would give their right arm for that to happen.
Please do not be tied to the scale. Stay on program and weigh in less often. Like only at the doctors office.
This is about health and well being..Not about numbers or what the scale tells you.
How do you feel? How are your clothes fitting you. Any NSV even small ones....Those things tell the real story not I lost 2 lbs this week!
