  1. I was sleeved on 9/17/15 starting weight of 242. I am currently at 164. I did my first 5K in August. I feel fabulous. I still have 14lbs to go to my goal weight and have been stalled for about 2 months. I meet with my doctor and nutritionist in 2 weeks. Hope they have some suggestions. I need to get back to the gym on a regular basis as I have been slacking through the summer. Great job to you all. I would do it again in a heartbeat
  2. I was sleeved on 9/17/14 and am down 61 lbs. My nutritionist said that was pretty good. We must all give our selves credit that we made it through the very stressful holidays. Take a deep breath and get inspiration as spring is on the way. I have been using my fitnesspal.com and find it very helpful especially during stalls. I am noticing a trend with my weight loss, the reports section gives you a graph and that helps me. I find if I record what I eat it is when I have the most success. I have upped my work outs and am doing weight training 2 days a week with a trainer, I have also found that I love Yoga (never in my life dreamed I would even try it) . I would like to see the weight come off faster, but I am just so glad it is coming off and it feels so good to feel healthier in the long run. Keep up the good work every one....remember it is a journey.

  4. I am just so excited and I can't think of any other person or people to share with (as most of my friends and family don't know about my WL surgery). Yesterday I went to see my Oncologist for my 3 month check up after battling Breast Cancer all Summer. Not only was she so happy to see my weight loss and life style changes, as this is essential to the cancer not returning, but my blood pressure was 124/77. I haven't seen those numbers in years. I have been on the high blood pressure border line, and some times over that borderline, for quite a few years. It feels so good to be healthier and be inspired to make better choices. I am exercising and eating so much better. I feel like the surgery has made this so much easier. Also, last night I went shopping and bought 3 pairs of size 14 jeans. I can get them on, but they are still a few weeks from being comfortable....I will use them for inspiration over the Thanksgiving holiday. Has any one been stressing over the upcoming Holidays? I have. I am struggling with the urge to entertain. Nothing sounds good to cook. Maybe I will do a potluck with my family this year. Any thoughts?
  5. Today my whole office ordered in lunch from Jimmy Johns (which has nothing I can eat or want to eat). It was very frustrating. I stayed in my office and had my very delicious meal that I brought to work. I find that I feel emotional about these types of things. I know this is a choice I made and I am so happy I did, I just need to figure out how to process my feelings and what they are all about. I have caught my self doing this a couple different times now and usually it is around a situation were I don't have any control over my food choices or I haven't had a opportunity to pre plan. Last night I went to costco after work and by the time I got home I was overly tired and could not figure out what to eat. Nothing sounded good. I just stood in front of the fridge and the tears started. Has anyone else experienced this or have any tips? I was sleeved on the 17th.
  6. I had my surgery done by Dr Kauffman at the Puget Sound Surgical Center. He is amazing. I only had to do a low carb diet for 2 weeks pre op. I lost 11 pounds during that time. I have found that the Premier Protein shakes over ice are pretty good. I buy them at Costco. They have 30 grams of protein. Good luck the surgery is worth it!
  7. I have noticed a slow down too. I decided to stop weighing myself every day and make sure to measure and weigh my food. Also I have read if you make sure to keep up your fluid intake it is supposed to help. Good luck, let me know how your changes go. ( I live in Maple Valley too).
  8. I am doing great. I went back to work last Tuesday and felt like I had been hit by a truck. Slowly but surely feeling like my self again. It was great to have a weekend to rest and get my pureed food figured out. Also started my Vitamins on Friday and that helped a lot. I went grocery shopping and it was weird, nothing sounded good. I had to really shop from my head and not my tummy. This was a whole new experience. I actually had to call my husband from the store and ask him what he wanted me to pick up for him. I feel like this was a good experience. Next time I will come with a better plan, but I left with no junk!
  9. Congratulations Julie, This is a very exciting time for you. I do suggest to plan a time when you can rest completely for a few weeks. I have zero regret's. Today is 8 days out since my surgery and I actually woke up feeling great today. I have been back to work for a few days and it has been a bit of a struggle dealing with the achiness and the low energy, but other than that things are great. I realized today when I finally felt good enough to put on a pair of my favorite skinny jeans that they aren't so skinny any more! I can't wait for all the swelling and incisions to go down to normal to see what size jeans I really wear now. One suggestion I do have is buy the Premier Protein shakes (I got mine at Costco), they are by far my favorite and I tried many different kinds, also Isopure unflavored protein mix is great as there is no flavor and you can add it to anything. Keep me posted as to how it is going Julie. I look forward to supporting you along your journey
  10. Hello fellow sleevers. I am looking for a buddy for my September sleeve. I am getting very nervous, but thrilled at the same time. I feel like I have everything I need for the recovery, but am hoping to have a support system set up outside of my family. They are very supportive, but I want to be able to openly talk without worrying my adult kids or husband too much. I also don't want to be frustrated with them when they don't understand. If you are getting sleeved soon or recently lets take this journey together.
