  1. Ooh no. I hope I don't. My surgery is the 15th. The day before I will be at work all day. I do not poop in public so this may be a problem! LOL
  2. Girl, I am in the same situation. I have surgery on the 15th and have some kind of sinus/allergy stuff going on. I was hoping to start walking everyday leading up to surgery, but today I came home from work wiped out from feeling bad all day. I've been loading up on Benadryl and some sinus stuff. I start my preop diet on Monday- 2 Protein drinks and one meal of lean protein and a small vegetable. I just hope I get rid of this crud before surgery.
  3. @Pepper123-I have humana for Kentucky state employees. It is amazing. I have a little bit if a deductible, but my total out-of-pocket for the year is $2500 so that is the most I'll have to pay. I'm so excited but just a little overwhelmed that it is happening so fast. Thanks everybody for all the encouragement. I love this forum
  4. So l had my first appt with the wls clinic this past Monday (24), nut the next day, and yesterday the psych eval. The drs office just called me and said my insurance has already approved me. It only took one day! I am SOOOO in shock. So depending on when my husband can get off work, I'm having my surgery on April 15 or 17!!!! It's a good thing I've been on here for hours every night for the past month researching.
  5. Good luck today! Praying for a speedy recovery! Congratulations
  6. So glad I saw this post! Would have never had thought to get one. The Laurenshope website has so many pretty bracelets. Just need to decide what to put on it.
  7. Thanks guys. I just needed to be babied for a minute. LOL
  8. Yay for you! Good luck tomorrow. Prayers for a safe surgery and speedy recovery!
  9. So I went for my 1st appt today to get the metabolic test, meet the surgeon, and talk to the insurance lady. I waited for over a month to get in. the while time I've been researching and been in here every night reading. So I have tried to prepare myself. tomorrow I have my mnt appt, pcp appt to get my referral letter for insurance, chest x ray, and EKG. I have a swallow study next Wednesday. The only thing left is the psych which they do in house so I find out when that appt is tomorrow. If insurance approves me, I will be having surgery in April. I am so ready for this, but now that it is happening, I'm feeling very overwhelmed. I haven't had an appetite all day (go figure lol). I guess I just need a little reassurance.
  10. Good luck to both of you! I go for my 1st appt on Monday. So excited
  11. I go on Monday (24th) for my first appt. I went to a seminar and after I turned my new pt packet it, it took a whole month to be able to get in since the dr. only sees new pts on Mondays. My insurance is supposed to be pretty good and quick (4-6 wks) so I'm hoping I get approved and can have surgery the end of April or middle of May. I'm so excited, but a little nervous because I've only had surgery once (sinus). I've been on here for several hours every night reading. I do not think I would feel as prepared and ready for this if it wasn't for this site and everyone being so open, honest, encouraging, and helpful.
  12. Congratulations! Good luck tomorrow. Praying for a speedy recovery!
  13. You look awesome! Congratulations!
  14. Hope your surgery went great and you are feeling good. Congratulations!
  15. Hey Angi! I'm also in the beginning stages of this journey. I went to the seminar last week and have my first appt with the doctor on the 24th. I am super excited but also super nervous. This site had been so wonderful. Everyone is so nice and encouraging plus really honest about their experiences. They are great cheerleaders. :-) I can't wait to hear about your journey.
  16. I just want you to know I think you look great in these pictures. I wish I was as skinny as you! I know you are doing this for you and your health, but don't be so hard on yourself. Good luck on your journey and keep us posted. :-)
  17. I'm one of those healthy fat people. Awesome blood pressure, cholesterol, sugar so I have to make sure I'm at least 40. That's why it's horrible, but I'm trying to gain a little extra just encase.
  18. You look awesome! Congratulations!
  19. I go for my first appt on March 24. I am boarderline at 40 and deathly afraid I will drop below it so I confess I have been eating everything to gain a couple of pounds. My paperwork the office sent me said they weigh without shoes or coats. Once I get that first weigh in, I'll start back on Water and eating better.
  20. Born and raised Kentucky girl. You're right-basketball is a religion here. :-)
  21. Omg! Looking at you most recent pic, I would have guessed 170, not 205. You look great!
