  2. 7900 for Alverez that was for an Inmed band the Johnson and Johnson may be less
  3. I have a low bmi and I can not feel my port it is right above my belly button.
  4. Most of the Whey proteins today are engineered to be a kind of time release so you don’t get the entire 30 or 40 grams all at once. Protein is important to weight loss because it produces gasses when being broken down by your body to be utilized; these gasses burn tons of calories and render a lot of the carbs consumed less potent.

  6. You should tell your DH that the band is not the answer but a tool and you are ready to learn how to face your fears but need help. If used properly the band can help to change the way you think about food. There are neuro transmitters in our stomach just like there are on our skin as we get bigger we develop more neuro transmitters. What that means in our stomach is as it stretches and gets bigger we develop more transmitters that read HUNGER and it takes more food to feel satiated. With the band if you eat solid protein first and do not drink during a meal and up to an hour after the neuro transmitters in the small stoma pouch report back to your brain and you have a since of satiation. Mushy food, liquids, and carbs do not stay in the stoma long enough to register and you will feel hunger faster. Knowing this has helped me so much I just last week had a fill that gave me proper restriction. I can eat anything in small amounts with out any problem. But if I eat protein with no liquid I feel so full for 4 hours I can’t ever think about eating. Hope this helps
  7. I told my Husband the day I got home on friday December 14 I had my second fill total of 6cc from fills and 2cc the doc put in and I am now properly restricted!!!!!!!!!!!! one egg fills me up for 4 hours I had a slime issue once (eating chicken too fast) I have lost 2 lbs and am happy and hopefull
  8. I had another fill yesterday 3cc so I have a total of 6cc from fills and 2cc Dr A added when he put the band in. I ate today and everything was fine went right down (chicken and peas). So my question is maybe I don’t know what I am looking for is it a fuller feeling? Also how would I know if I have a leak? I think I did fill up faster and as a result ate less is that the “sweet spot” I know throwing up is not good and I have read about a lot of symptoms of being over filled but there is not much out there on being filled just right
  9. I thought the VG band held 10cc is it more? I have the VG band got it in OCT had a 3cc fill Nothing so got 3cc more yesterday doc put 2cc in at time of banding. Do all VG hold 14cc as you say?
  10. did you get your fill? I have the VG 10cc band and had 3cc put in not change and yesterday 3cc and I ate fine today? It feels like I fill up a little faster and could not eat quite as much do you think that is the sweet spot? I could probably pig out if I wanted to. Guess I will get a fill next month if no change in weight. did it hurt for you?
  11. I had a second fill yesterday total of 6cc in VG band that holds 10cc I feel the same a little fuller faster but that is all. Not loosing but not gaining. How are you doing have you had a fill yet?
  12. I had my band put I Oct 11/07 I chose not to tell my husband and am glad for that choice my BIM was 31. I took my daughter with me and it was nice to have the support. When I got back I had a hard time of it the gas is crippling at times we spoon every night and he puts his arm around me. I told him I had the flu then I just told him about the band I said it was a personal decision I needed to make on my own. Turned out he was cool with it the less he knows the better. I have lost 15 lbs since I was in Mexico (I never told him I had it done in Mexico said when I was in San Antonio I had it done) I am having my first fill Dec 1 and I hope it helps I have been at a stand still for a month no restriction at all. Good luck
  13. I still fill up fast but can eat anything. I ate liquids two weeks then mush for a week this last week I feel back to normal
  14. Thank you for the support you are doing really great!!! How long did it take you to feel restriction I can eat anything I want first fill Dec 1
  15. That is what I think the local fill Doc's nurse freaked me out she said the Mexico doc used the wrong size band and I will not have anything but problems blah blah. Not giong to have my fill there.
  16. I have the VG band got it on oct 11 and I have first fill dec 1 have no restriction and when I called around to fill docs I got shock that any doc would put the VG band in someone with a low BMI 32 they said the VG is for really big people. My fear is it wont work thanks for you posts I guess with enough fill it does work just have to get there.
  17. I was banded on 10/11/07 and my BMI was 32 I have lost 13lbs gained one back my first fill is dec 1 I have no restriction and fear this wont work for me just like all the other things I have tried. I walk a mile and ride on the bike five miles three times a week some times more. I hope my body will not let me down.
  18. Thats awsome!! I have scheduled my first fill dec 1 no more lbs gone once i started eating solid food. What band did he use on you and did you go alone?
  19. I am 10 days out and today is the first day I don't have the gas pain, I do get gas when ever I drink anything. The weight loss on the liquid stage is amazing I have lost 12 lbs in 10 days and that is great for me. I' m walking a mile everyday. Hamg in there.
  20. thanks this was a great web site
  21. I was banded on 01/11 and my port site does not hurt but the gas pain is crippling my shoulder hurts so bad. Gas X does not work because the gas is in your body cavity not intestines so moving and walking will help your body absorb it. (that is what the doc said) Im dizzy!
  22. I just got the vg band because the Doc said I had a lot of fat around my stomach and the 11cc VG was the one he had to use because of that. have you ever heard that? And if it is so big the band what happens when I lose the fat around my stomach will it slip and become loose.
  23. I forgot to tell you the La Quinta has a shuttle that will take you anywhere with in five miles. There is a Walmart you can go to and a mall. And probably lots more Manda and I took a cab down town to see the Alamo and walk the river walk. twenty dollar taxi one way ouch!!
