  2. I so identify with your posting @@elfnow! When maintaining weight with the band (it's a long story!) I used to weigh myself every day... probably twice a day... or possibly three or four or five times a DAY when the cravings to weigh myself got really bad!... LOL I felt that acting on my weighing cravings didn't cause much longterm harm, so better to weigh myself, than act on a craving to eat candy/sweets. Writing it now it looks completely ridiculous to be weighing several times in one day, but I only used to "count" one weigh a week on a Saturday morning and would track that one only! The other weighs in between weren't really me weighing myself, they were more like when you glance at your watch to check the time.. you know what the time is but are just checking! My reasons to weigh myself were: - weigh in the morning... start of the day and hopefully weigh less than he night before! - weigh in the evening ... end if the day, and see if any difference - weigh after going to the gym.. why not?! - weigh with less clothes on... nothing like good news! - weigh after... hmmmmm, no reason needed. But particularly when I was monitoring weightloss with gastric band and maintaining I felt a real need to keep a check I didn't so repeat weighing all the time though. For many weeks is weigh once or twice a week and not be too hung up on it. Then I'd have really intense periods where my clothes these were either getting tighter or looser and I'd want to weigh much more often.., right up there at 17348 times a day like @@elfnow

  4. Wow! Incredible progress @@celine You look amazing. What gave been the good things and bad things for you since your surgery? Thanks Betty [had a band, got to normal BMI for 10years band mechanically failed and has been removed, regained all weight now awaiting date for gastric sleeve]
  5. Great blog! The questions to ask your surgeon about complications should be recommended reading for anyone thinking about bariatric surgery. Sending for interest to @@Alex Brecher
  6. Amazing LBD photos @@LipstickLady Truly inspirational! I am just starting my journey. Jumping all the hoops , keen to get going. Reading peoples stories on here to understand the positives & neagatives better.
  7. Going to the gym 2weeks after surgery? Have you checked this with your surgeon or bariatric team? From my readings, most surgeons seem to advise 6-8 weeks no gym or heavy exercise. I appreciate walking on a treadmill might not be heavy work, but still worth checking with your doctor.
  8. Incredible progress. Really inspiring! Well done & keep going
  9. Good for you! What a great NSV. Keep going
  10. Hi @@Rena's got this did your surgeon give you any special instructions about the hiatus hernia repair postop? Are you allowed to weightlift or go to the gym? Anything else? I've been told I gave a hiatus hernia preop , so quite worried about this. Thanks n
  11. Amazing progress! And looking so happy in your fitness gear I so looking forward to getting on with my journey. I'm still preop and having assessments with dietician, endocrinologist, psychologist and surgeon before I can proceed.
  12. Wow! Great photos. You look like you're having fun in your fitness kit Keep going. Just keep going

  17. Know that feeling! I am feeling acutely nervous preop myself. Still preop, going through dietician/psych/endocrinology assessments. It's nerve wracking. Keep going
  18. I am at the very beginning still and very nervous! My journeys barely started but the emotional rollercoaster is looping already. I was very inspired by the post by @7 Bites_Jen on the emotional rollercoaster posted elsewhere in the forum. I've made my decision, I'm having a gastric sleeve (and this is after 10yeaes with a band, that hand to be removed as it mechanically failed, and I've regained back the weight having been within healthy BMAi range) I'm alternating between feeling scared about facing yet more surgery, or worse, facing more obesity. When I think about it I get that feeling of my heart suddenly sinking to the pit of my stomach, I worry about my children and husband and what I'm doing to them. Then the feeling flips and I just feel a sense of angst, which seems to be there most of the time, except when in completely absorbed by something. I've got to go through all the preop assessment hurdles. I've seen my surgeon and before I can go ahead with surgery I need to have appointments with a dietician, psychologist, endocrinologist. So that's another three big swooping twists on the rollercoaster for starters! I feel like I'm still at Ground Zero, and I have event got to stage 1 that @7 Bites_Jen described yet! Jen's stage 1 is "preop elation" when you're finally approved for surgery... so I'm looking forward to this, but almost feeling nervous bout what this will feel like. It will feel so real and final by then. Some of the waiting will be over and some of the uncertainty will be gone. But equally, the surgery will be nearer, so I'm sure I will feel another big swoop and my feelings will be doing crazy loops.
  19. Wow! Amazing photos and incredible progress! @@McButterpants Keep up the great work, I wish you all the best for further success.
  20. @@Alex Brecher it is case-sensitive on this earlier post .,. I'm using mobile phone webpage, not app.

  22. Ok... thanks @@Alex Brecher and it's case-sensitive too.... @@LipstickLady so @band2sleever doesn't work, but @Band2Sleever does!
  23. I am so looking forward to these moments. I am down to wearing: my last stretchy black dress ... bursting at the seams my last stretchy work skirt... bulging at the waistband my last pair of legging... hardly ever wear these as leggings are so unflattering and precisely ZERO pairs of jean... as I just can't face wearing super tight jeans and I refuse to buy any more as over a certain size I don't wear jeans at all Still nervously waiting preop for a date for my sleeve surgery.
  24. Nice one @@alexbrecher (are spaces needed or not @@Alex Brecher ? Hello @@LipstickLady !
