For anyone looking for a new meetup in Dallas please PM me..
  5. I’m looking to find people for a new meet up group that meets in Dallas and Mesquite.
  6. I still have a hard time digesting salads. In fact, I hate salads now. I like cooked veggies but some I can't eat (bell peppers don't agree with me anymore). I had a hard time with nuts, but now I can eat them again. I wish I knew veggies would hurt at first but it gets a lot easier. That and spicy. I used to love spicy but now I can't do spicy at all. I'd still get the sleeve though!

    Cute workout clothes?

I like athleta.com But it's expensive. But I also refuse to wear clothes that doesn't have a skirt covering the crotch. Lol

    Aspirational shopping

I wish my stomach looked like that!
  9. It's normal to feel like a mess. The mood swings are normal. As your body loses the fat, hormones in the fat gets released. FOLLOW your program! You are in the honeymoon phase and you need to make the most of the weight loss that comes off fast now because it gets a lot harder. If you follow your program, you are doing what you should be doing and you won't mess up. When you cheat, you only cheat yourself. You can do this!
  10. I've been in a plateau for a month and a half. Am I done losing? I'm pretty happy with where I'm at. I'm technically in a healthy range, but I wanted to be at the lower end of the range (vaniety lbs maybe?). Do I just need to put in more effort at the gym? Or should I just be happy with where I'm at?

    Don't hate on fluffy people

Let's face it. Some of us become weight focused (OCD?) post op. Any comment I make about weight is in regards to me only. I critize myself way more than what's probably healthy. Don't take their comments personally. Sadly the only weight they can/can't see is only their own.

    Dating after Weight Loss Surgery

I've been single for 3 years. I'm down 25 lbs now. I feel better, but I'm not ready to really DATE yet. I went out with a guy from work that wanted to buy me lunch. I asked him to split a meal. He obliged. He knows I've lost weight and am really trying to get in shape. I definitly want to make sure the guy I do date is totally okay with sharing meals. Although they better be flexible since I'm a picky eater being a vegetarian and all.

    Giving Up your favorite foods

For me, another big factor is how much my tastes have changed post op. Stuff I was worried I couldn't have (Like Starbucks Frappiccinos) I've tried and they taste gross now. I DON'T want them. EXCEPT for Puffy Cheetos. Those go down WAY too easily and they are delicious. So I know I kind of need to avoid Cheetos and eat them rarely and portion out what I eat. I can't eat a lot of rice or bread. But 2 bites becomes satisfying. You chew and savour. You should be able to describe the taste, texture, etc in detail after a meal. Chew and eat slowly or you suffer later with discomfort. It's a pretty reliable system, in my opinion.
  14. I've also had an issue with textures in addition to taste. I ate an avocado yesterday which I loved pre-op but I kept feeling those fiber strands and pulled them out of my mouth and started to dry heave. One I experience a weird texture (happened with eggs too) I avoid the food. Pre op I loved spicy foods, post op even bland foods can be too spicy. Lol. It's a pain.
