I would recommend the 5 day pouch test (google it). Also, eating all the junk typically leads to more hunger.
As for capacity, your anatomy could play a large role in that, or if you are eating/drinking simultaneously that's pretty much making the food go through faster. Pretty much everything you listed are slider foods for the most part. We can drink and eat at the same time, we just aren't supposed to do it.
Just because we can, doesn't mean we should. And, unfortunately, there has to be some personal accountability when it comes to "what' we put in our mouths. I can eat quite a bit of food, nothing near 3 burgers, but I can eat more foods that are sliderish/mushy. Get your focus back on Protein dense foods.

I am getting concerned about being hungry all the time. I am almost 3 months out from surgery and can now eat too much! On 5/9 I weighed 320 and had surgery on 5/23 and on 8/10 I weighed 263. I went on vacation on 8/10 and on 8/18 I weighed 270 - a 7 pound gain!. During vacation I ate burgers, pizza, Pasta, chips, etc. I can eat large portions, too! And I'm hungry! I can also drink and eat at the same time with no issue. I didn't think we were supposed to be ABLE to do that. I do get uncomfortably full - but not until I've eaten 3 McDoubles from McDonalds and being uncomfortable full is a very familiar feeling. Now all of this crazy junk food eating has only existed for the last 10 days - but I'm finding it hard to put it down now that I know my govenor isn't as strict as I thought. What do I do now? How do I fix this?

I am 14 months out and have lost 104% of my excess weight. It is very difficult at first to get everything in. I know you are anxious to eat real food, but it is better at this point to go for the better nutrition choices. The Liquid Protein does double duty, so I recommend that you choose those for the first month-2. Also, things like Greek yogurt or low/non fat cottage cheese, where you get more Protein in less food. I did not try to eat 3/meals 2/snacks at first. I put Protein Powder in my Water and sipped it all day. Try walking early in the day. The commercial that says " a body in motion tends to stay in motion" is actually true. Getting your circulation going early in the day will help create more energy! Hope this helps. = )

I'm about four weeks post op and I swear I feel hungry every couple hours. But I'm also still pretty laid up from recovery so it might be head hunger/boredom/grazing.
I feel a little bummed out how easy it is to get over 800 calories for me already. But it's true the sleeve isn't a miracle and I have a lot of years of bad habits to break.
Hopefully once I'm back to work and able to move around again I'll be less "hungry". And I'll keep working on the mindful eating stuff. Even though I got this surgery I am still planning on attending an upcoming mindful eating workshop.

I find that I experience "head hunger" when I am bored. I do not get hungry as a general rule but if I am bored, I find I cannot stop munching. I try to choose Protein (cheese or cottage cheese with yogurt, nuts or jerky) when this happens and then I look for something to do so I will not keep eating. There have been times (usually in the evening) when I realize I have eaten several hundred calories of food and still feel "hungry". Then I get anxious that I am not feeling the full feeling and may be stretching my sleeve. This just feeds my anxiety which frustrates me and I try drinking Water to "fill me up" till I feel that full feeling.
I know what the problem is but still struggle with the emotions and boredom. Trying to avoid boredom is hard, just as hard as avoiding food.< /p>

About 50% of people lose hunger after the Ghrelin producing stomach is removed. However, Ghrelin is also made by the pancreas and the brain - and I guess my brain and pancreas work overtime to compensate for the removed stomach! I got my "real hunger" back on day 10. I could've eaten my arm by the time I ate soft foods at 4 weeks.
For the lucky ones who lose their hunger for a long period of time: IT'S JUST NOT FAIR!

I was in your shoes about a month ago. My nutritionists told me that I have to eat to loose weight and that 500 calories a day is not giving our bodies the proper nourishment it needs to run. I told her my worries, and also my doctor and he said its all in your head. I was diagnosed with a eating disorder as well a few years back, and I fight it everyday. I would see your doctors to see what kind of foods you can get in to up your calorie intake. It took me a month just to get up to 800 calories a day, and my god let me tell you it was hard to do. Sending lots of support your way!

My Tummy Tuck was completed on Thursday and I feel great! I had very little pain and was up and moving in no time. I was able to shower on Saturday and remove the bandages, and I cried when I saw my stomach. I am so glad I had this done, and I would choose to do it over and over again if it would go as well as it did this time. There is still some swelling and I still have my drains in, but neither are too bothersome for me right now. I go back on Thursday afternoon for my week follow-up, so I hope to get some good news then! For anyone thinking about having it done, I HIGHLY recommend it!

-breakfast is either an egg and a morningstar sausage (vegetarian) sausage patty, or chobani simply 100 vanilla yogurt with 1/4 c high Protein kashi Cereal (usually not able to finish the second selection). Have some P28 high Protein bread but I have not tried it yet (14 grams/slice).
-lunch is usually 2-3 ounces of grilled chicken, grilled fish, steak, or a small hamburger patty cooked on the GF grill.
I try and add some veggies-wilted spinach is packed with nutrients in a small serving-or asparagus tips a couple times a week.
-dinner is pretty much the same thing as lunch, or I have sliced chicken/turkey deli meat roll ups with a slice of sargento thin cheese.
-snacks (try and get in 2 a day)-cottage cheese is a go-to for me (2% Breakstone in the 4 ounce cup), baby bel cheese, or half a small apple (peel included) with PB2. Guilty pleasure is Pork rinds 1/2 an ounce <ducks>
The only Protein Drink I can stomach is Chike's high protein coffee drink when I need the caffeine in the afternoon (I work swing shift into the evening hours) and I drink it only once or twice a week at work. The thought of eating a Protein Bar or a different shake makes me gag...my hat is off to you guys who can still tolerate them
Calories average about 850-900. I am trying to increase my protein to 75-80 min with my increased exercise, and carbs, well, I try and keep it below 50, some days I do better than others but I am trying to keep a variety in my diet so I do not get bored. I drink crystal light, iced tea and coffee (no carbonated drinks at all-stopped about 4 months before surgery)...not enough fluids but I am working on that as well.

Hi Fellow Sleevers and Sleevers to Be!
I pray all of you and yours are Happy, Healthy and Enjoying Life!
To start with I am 8 weeks Post Op, I have lost 30lbs so far (Yay ) and I do wish I could done this sooner, but, I didn't know how much I was going to start hating to eat. LOL! I guess my brain has not caught up to my sleeve and I know my dietician states 4to 8 oz of food per meal but it seems that after 3 bites of food and right when I'm really enjoying what I'm eating I can't eat another bite or I start spitting up, I think I need to go back to the baby spoon .. (Yes, I know that was the whole point of having surgery) I just can't get in all the Protein in I am supposed to and the only protein I can digest with no issues are eggs which I am getting tired of, I am taking a break from the shakes for a while and any other food (even mashed potatoes) feels like rocks in my stomach. And my weight loss has went down to only about a pound a week now, I guess its either I am not getting enough calories or just the way I am losing it, thats okay I guess cause at least I lose something every week I just thought that I could lose at least 40 the first 3 months as I see others lose amazing amount of weight but I'm good with it.
Please know I am not complaining I'm just venting a bit and wondering if anyone else is having any of these issues and if they did does it get better I don't want to eat alot I am just concerned that I can't eat enough to stay healthy. I will confess though I do eat two hershey kisses every day cause I am still a chocoholic, this surgery did not change that but me only eating one or two and being good with that is a miracle for me.
God Bless you All! And Thanks for all your testimonies!

    Normal!
I couldn't hit my Protein and liquid intake goals for several months. Everyone is different but I went through exactly the same experience as you. I hated to eat for months, actually. It was a chore, which was a huge turnaround! My favorite food was cottage cheese...but then I developed lactose intolerance and spent day after day eating scrambled eggs. Trust me, I feel your pain.
I wouldn't drop the shakes. I'd try to find either a new way to prepare them or find a new shake that doesn't bore you. I'm nearly two years out and I still drink a shake each day! If I want to eat 90+ grams of Protein but still get in plenty of carbs I need one. They are just about the only source of real protein in the beginning. You need protein!
So my advice is to relax about eating enough protein in your actual food for a little while. Eat what you can but don't beat yourself up too much. Get back on shakes! One a day - mix it with coffee or tea or juice or whatever it takes to make it palatable for you.
It does get a lot easier. Hang in there.
Oh, and don't worry about ups and downs and slowdowns on the scale. We don't get to lose at a consistent (or even fast!) rate but we do lose.

Woah! Slow down! What? You are a week post-op and should be just transitioning to the full liquids stage at this point, unless your post-op guidelines are different from what mine were.
You may be able to nibble tiny bits of different foods but please remember you are still healing and will be for several months. You have post-op swelling internally and can't feel the full sensation yet. If you continue your self-sabotage you risk serious complications not just weight regain. So STOP IT!!!!!
Generally speaking the sleeve doesn't cause dumping syndrome but some people do experience it if they eat something excessively fatty or sweet. If you wanted dumping syndrome then you should have gotten the bypass. You can ask your surgeon about having a revision to the bypass but IMO you might want to consider seeking therapy to help you get control of your issues with food and eating. Any WLS can be eaten around eventually and the weight regained. you don't want that to happen I'm sure or you wouldn't have cried out for help here.
Take a deep breath and step away from the kitchen! I have to do that all the time!
