My name is Rose and I finally went to my consultation to meet my Dr for my lapband surgery which by the grace of God should happen in Apirl... He was telling me that I will ONLY lose about 1 lb a week. Sometimes if I am lucky 2 lbs.. He said I should do the Gastric by pass.. I was so devestated and sad the rest of the night. I hear all you talk about how much weight you all are losing and it sure is more than what my Dr said... Also My lower back is bad and it makes walking very hard. He said cause I cant do a lot of walking I wont lose the weight.. Is this right??? Do you only lose 1 - 2 lbs if you excercise or not????? I dont want to have the Gastric by pass I want the lapband ...

Hi all I'm Rose and I am with BCBS of Alabama.. I am done with everything but my remaining 5 months of Dr. visits. I am unhappy with the 2 different programs I have gone to. I am working on going to a 3rd Lapband program. I havent been able to see the Dr's who will perform my surgery at the last 2 lapband programs. They both said I would see the Dr 2 weeks before the surgery.. I said NO. I want to meet them now.. They also want money out of pocket for certain things and my insurance covers what they want me to pay in cash. Anyone have this problem at all? Also I dont know how to atach the ticker to my posts..Can anyone tell me how to do this? I am 46 yrs old and my BMI is 44..

Here is a piece of the by laws for BCBS....READ the word OR below..Its what your looking for.. a friend, Rose At least one attempt must occur during the one year prior to request for surgery or date of surgery. Documentation must support participation in the program for six consecutive months. The following criteria must be met for this participation: ▪ Documentation of participation in a physician supervised program of nutrition and increased physical activity (including dietitian consultation, low calorie diet, increased physical activity and behavioral modification). Documentation of program participation must appear in the medical record by the attending physician. Documentation should include comments by the physician regarding patient progress or lack of progress. A letter does not meet this requirement. There must be medical records to document medically supervised weight loss attempts; OR Acceptable with medical record documentation of medical supervision are: Weight Watchers, LA Weight Loss, Jenny Craig, EatRight etc. Not acceptable are self-directed programs such as joining a gym, Atkins’ diet, calorie counting, low fat, cutting back, internet programs, etc. 4.

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama and they cover alot.. I can send you their info on what they pay for if anyones needs it.. You also need a Psy. evaluation.. Have any questions? My name is Rose and I live in NC.. I have been to Asheville & Hickory Doctors and they are driving me nuts with wanting money from me. My Insurance ( Blue Cross Blue Shield) covers everything . But these Doctors with their so called programs dont want to report to insurance companies they want the money out of your pocket.. Like $758 for a Psc.evaluation..That is crazy when my insurance will cover it . But they use a Dr that wont take insurance.. It's a scam.. I am looking for a better program if anyone can recomend one to me.. Has anyone out there had the Lap-band done in Asheville, Hickory, or Charlotte North Carolina? I have checked out Asheville and Hickory and I think most of what they do is a scam to make money for the Psc. Evaluation Doctor and charge big money for the Medically supervised diet.. HELP!!! I hear that Blue Cross blue sheild covers the lapband and gastric by pass.. As long as your BMI is 35 or 40 and over.. 40 and over you dont need comorbestitys... Rose
