  1. I have not been filled yet (I go on the 8th) but could there be some swelling that is preventing you from getting anything down?
  2. I paid $9785.00...luckily we had some stock $$$ that we could use!
  3. This is the exact reason I didn't tell very many people...I dont need anymore judgement... Brandy
  4. What a great feeling! Congrats!!
  5. Happy New Year!!!! I am so excited that we will all be meeting our goals this year!!! :clap2::clap2: Mona~ HOW SCARY for you, I am glad to hear that your doing much better...my dd almost died last year, it is worth every penny that I am paying to have her fine and ok. Good luck to bahot, hope everything goes ok and without a hitch! Brandy
  6. My little sister is thinking about the band (I was banded on 12/12), she asked if you could stretch the pouch before your first fill and I couldn't answer her. Can anyone help? Thanks!!
  7. I was told that I could bathe after the bandages came off... Brandy
  8. I was on Phentermine about 6-7 years ago and it was awesome (at the time) I lost 45 pounds in 5 months, however, as soon as I stopped taking it, the weight just kept on coming back on!!! I think that if you work out with it, and you do the majority of the work, you should do great with it! Brandy
  9. Welcome bahot! You have found a great forum! I bet your counting the hours until your surgery!!! MAL: I have been eating pretty much mushies...some soft foods mixed in here and there, but 98% mushies. Thanks for the info regarding drinking and PB'ing. I had no idea that it could make it worse... LA: I am with you as well, I only have told my family (NOT my husbands, and I probably never will) and a few friends. Your doing great with your pre-diet so far...I really had the last supper syndrome bad! Now I know that I could still have what I wanted, just in very limited quantites... Hope everyone is having a great day!! Brandy
  10. Congrats LA!!! You will be so happy to be in bandland!!! Where in AZ are you? I will be visiting the in-laws in Mesa in Feb and again in March for a baseball tourney. Maybe we could meet if your close by... Again, Congrats to you. You have made a good choice!!!
  11. Thanks Marcy and Mal!!! I did eat mushies (inside of stuffed shells) this is the first real signifigant food that I have had and it was so great!!! Although, I think that I ate to fast and/or to much because I feel really tight. Like something isn't moving quite right. So I am drinking trying to push it through... I will keep listening to my body and (try) to obey it!!! We all know how hard that can be! Michelle~ I can't believe you tried to go to the gym! You rock, girl!!! I am getting ancy to work out too, I actually enjoy the gym, it gets me away from my kids! Ha!! Thanks again girls!!! Brandy
  12. Tarheelluv~ I went ahead and posted both of our questions on the other Dr. K forum...I hope you don't mind, but this question has been bothering me for a few days.... Brandy
  13. :help::help::help::help:This is from Tarheelluv... Hi all. I have been reading all the new posts on the whole lapbandtalk forum for a few days. It really freaks me out to see that other surgeons require 4 and 5 weeks of liquid diet after the surgery. And people will flame you big time if you post anything to the contrary. They say you will ruin your band if you eat this, and this, and this. I talked to Natalie about 5 days after my surgery and just casually mentioned that I was hungry and she said I could go ahead and advance my diet as I felt comfortable. I read on Dr K's website that he wants a day or two of clear liquid, then add soups and protein shakes through day 5 then advance slowly and finally go to soft foods for the "immature lap band" (meaning before 1st fill). Dr K's info seems to indicate the goal is not to vomit. But other than that, as long as we advance the diet slowly- WE CAN ADVANCE THE DIET. What is going on with all of these other people saying only liquids for 4 or 4 weeks? Am I going to ruin my band by eating mushy foods and soft foods within the first month? This one is for me...I know you experienced bandsters can help us!!! I am worried about the same thing!!! I am at week 2, my first fill is scheduled for 1/8. I am eating "mushies" and protein shakes...I am worried!! I hope that I don't stretch the pouch or worse, slip the band! I would love to hear from others about this...have you posted on the other Dr. K forum? There seems to be a little more traffic there.... Brandy
  14. Congratulations!!! I was completely out of it, so I really didn't care one way or another if I had company or not!! Again, congrats!!! Brandy

  16. I am getting all the Protein in. I use 1 C skim milk (9g) and 3 scoops of powder (54 g). I know that I am still healing, but I just am not hungry!!! And I love that!!! Brandy
  17. :clap2::clap2::clap2: YAY YOU!!!
  18. Is it better to get your Protein (I am on mushies and still doing the shakes) all at once, or spread out through the day. Yesterday, I just was not hungry, so I drank my protein all at once and was completely satisfied with that. Just wondering!! Thanks so much for all the help!! Brandy
  19. I was also self pay...it was a HUGE decision, but I am only 2 weeks out and feel happy! Something that I have not been in a long, long time... Since I was self pay, I interviewed several doctors. I just went with my gut, who I felt the most comfortable with. I ended up going with Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum in Aurora, CO. He is very reasonable (comparable to Mexico). Good luck in your search!!! Brandy
  20. BUMMER!!! It is dumping snow here, I have my 3 out of 4 kids here PLUS 2 of my neighbors kids!!!! Pray for me, usually I would be stuffing my face by now...instead I am on here! "Be strong...Be strong...Be strong...Be strong!!!!" Brandy
  21. I am 2 weeks out and would kill for a Diet Dr. Pepper!!! It was really hard over Christmas seeing everyone drinking something "bubbly"!! But I did it.... Brandy
  22. I am so sorry that your having such a hard time deciding. I agree, that you will know in your heart which is best for you. No body says that the decision needs to be made today, when you decide and know, you know. Then go for it! Good luck in your decision!! Brandy
  23. Hi There~ I was banded on 12/12, I am now at the mushies phase. My question is do you eat when your hungry or eat because you know that you need to...I am gagging at the Protein drinks, but am hardly ever hungry. I have been eating because I think I should, do I need to be waiting for hunger? It is 4:00 pm here and I have not had a bite yet, because I just am not hungry! Thanks everyone!!! Brandy
  24. I was up for a while too (I was banded on 12/12). For me once I started drinking good ol' Water and was up and moving it came off. I am now down 18.5 pounds! Brandy
  25. I was told no bath until the bandages came off... Brandy
