missblonde20 got a reaction from LisaAdams50 in What's your experience been with alcohol after surgery?
Let me say, I saw my surgeon at 5 weeks post op (I am now 7) and I am in Australia (where it doesn't seem as hardcore as the US rules) and he was so easy going about alcohol. I said I have a wedding in October and he was like 'enjoy it, have a drink. See how you feel - if it's not agreeing with you then OK, you should stop. If it's fine, then it's fine'. So I'd just ask your surgeon and then go from there

I am loving my sleeve! The band was just vomiting, starving, reflux and pain. I just love the sleeve; no reflux, no vomiting, no pains. I can EAT real food, just smaller portions, and I have lost 33 pounds so far. I want to get at least another 45 pounds off, but I know that it might take a while. I had my sleeve in mid July, so I hope that by January I have shed most of it!

Y'all need to erase this "only" word from your vocabulary! I lost just under 40 lbs in the first 3 months and I thought I was doing great, as did my medical team. So maybe technically slower than any of you -- and yes I was a heavyweight -- but I still managed to lose over 200 lbs and get to my goal weight. It isn't a race, and comparing your weight loss to other people is generally a recipe for unhappiness. To quote Teddy Roosevelt, comparison is the thief of joy.

I usually do egg with toast - and it goes down Ok. Wraps are also fine for me! I was never told to keep away from bread....and I eat grainy or wholemeal pieces, not white.

My nut actually pushed me to eat bread (as toast) for Breakfast and has no qualms about it. The reason being is if I eat anything runny or mushy, especially liquids or yoghurt, I get SO sick!! It goes straight through me, so she said do some toast. I never eat the whole piece but it's just adds substance and I tolerate food that way.

Gosh, I love nothing better than eating a banana....some people on here really demonise foods that aren't quite chicken or cottage cheese.
I love to mix banana with egg to cook Protein pancakes, or even smoothies!
If you're posting about pizza, take away and ice cream, OK, you might get some nasty responses....but a banana!? Sheeshhhhh people. Leave the poor gal alone!

If you search up posts like this, you will see that due to being so fresh out of surgery, your body is full of fluids, has gone through a huge shock, and you are definitely at the time where you need to rest and just let your body do its thing. Don't be so hard on yourself, you will lose!

I'm 7 weeks out as well.
This is my usual routine if I don't eat out:
Breakfast: 1 fage greek yogurt or a Protein shake made w/ fairlife milk
Mid morning snack: a small piece of cheese
Lunch: 2-3 oz of grilled chicken breast or more cheese
Afternoon snack: usually another small piece of cheese If I have more chicken I'll have another 2 oz or so
Dinner: often 2-3 slices of boars head turkey rolled up with cheese
When I eat out, which is at least 3-4x a week I stick with Protein. eggs for Breakfast, sometimes an omelet with turkey bacon baked into the eggs (and cheese), grilled octopus, salmon or tuna, sometimes lamb for lunch and dinner.

If I need a late night treat I have a sugar free popsicle...or a piece of cheese.

    6 months post op.
Breakast: 1 weetabix with skimmed milk, flaxseed and dried Raisins
Morning snack: small apple and low fat rice pudding
Lunch: usually leftover Chinese e.g. beef curry with rice (less than 1/2 cup)
Afternoon snack: 100g high Protein yoghurt
Dinner: 2oz meat of some description with veg
Supper: 25g of pretzels with 30g cheese
This week I have cut out the morning and afternoon Snacks. As I've reached 6 months my surgeon has told me things will slow down

    Ten months out.
Yesterday was a workday as is today.
Breakfast: Premier Protein banana shake + two servings of mozzarella string cheese
Lunch: A serving of chicken salad from our cafeteria
Dinner: Two golfball sized meatballs that I'd grilled on Friday. A couple spoonfuls of marina sauce over them.
Snacks: I don't do Snacks. I don't need them and they only contribute to thinking about food. I'd rather just space out my meals and call it good. I still have a good deal of body fat to burn. Staying low carb is keeping that going. Once I hit my maintenance level.....then I'll start including Snacks if needed (nuts, cheese, fruit and crunchy fresh vegetables ).
Lots of Water (120+ ounces) and 4 cups of coffee throughout the day, too.

Yes, i actually thought the same.... its like wow i have a normal tummy only smaller... this is awesome!
I actually allow myself to have treats, i am a big believer in everything in moderation, but i do balance it out.
Eg. I brought myself a box of my favourite expensive chocolates, i allow myself 2 chocolates every Saturday. Thats my reward for behaving from Monday-Friday & Sunday.
I allow myself to have popcorn at the movies, and if i am eating out i am a little less strict with the carbs.
So i basically do the right thing 95% of the time, but during the "bad" 5% i don't feel guilty, because i don't binge or go nuts with portion sizes...
I think the key is allowing the treat but in a measured amount.
Popcorn - recommended serving (child size) and thats all, not the whole box.
chocolate - 2 pieces and thats it (not the whole block)
This way you never feel deprived and it teaches you good habits and relationships with food.
But, i will add this disclaimer.... i can do this because i am close to goal... if i had 50kg or large amounts of weight to lose, i probably wouldn't do it too often till i was nearish to goal.
