I am doing great no problems at all , 8 weeks also down 40 as started weight 250 when I get to 200 then I know am on my way , am doing aqua fit , and wii , and walking machine , I go march for my 3 months! We will see '

Love to hear everyone's stories. I am 8 weeks as of today and down 40lbs and feeling pretty great. I had a stall at around six weeks which was discouraging but I know it's part of the process. I am able to tolerate pretty much anything. Still learning on eating slow though. Here is my progress this far :

I can officially and comfortably fit a size 6. I know own 4 articles of clothing in that size. Hahaha it just amazes me. I just got this skirt from express on clearance. I'm so ready to rock it!

I live in south Texas, in between San Antonio and Laredo. My family has lots of rental properties and are always in need employees to fill the cleaning staff. There is a BIG oil boom too. Lots of companies pay very, very well for all sorts of services, from cleaning staff to management. More than 20 hotels have gone up in the area, all short staffed. Message me. I can help you find a living situation and there is plenty of job opportunity.

I had surgery on 11/20/13 and have lost 33 pounds so far! I'm already getting off some of my medication and I no longer have sleep apnea. I'm looking forward to the future - the first time in a long time!

I had no problem losing 20 pounds, it was keeping it off and not being able to lose more then around 20. I also had health issues from the weight. Not possible to lose 90 pounds in three months a regular diet. This 'tool', the sleeve I got three months ago has been a total life changer. Nearly 90 pounds gone since surgery date, and 20 from pre op diet :-)

Whoop woop I am so proud of myself. I NEVER thought I'd see the day! It's definitely been a challenge but it's been soooo worth it! Things were progressing really well that is until New Year's Eve when I had emergency gallbladder surgery. Although things are fabulous now. Got clearance to return to the gym today by my doc. I've been having rowing machine and stair stepper withdrawals! I cannot believe I actually miss the workouts. It's such an amazing life transformation. Any and all obstacles to over come are completely worth VSG!

I have a guy friend that I have been seeing, and he doesn't want me to have surgery. He told me that if I lose a lot of weight, then he won't like me. I think that's code for "I'm afraid you're going get skinny and leave me for another man." I told him that he could do me a favor and move on now, because I'm having the surgery for ME.

I'm 8 weeks out as of yesterday. Starting to become part of regular life. I've lost 40 pounds and have gone from a waist size 42 to 36 (which is like going 15 years back in time). I feel great, sleep well, no complications whatsoever. I have eaten too fast twice and was pretty uncomfortable for about 30 minutes each time. Now I try to choose foods that go down better, which isn't that hard.
Life is so much easier now..........

Well i just turned 9 wks today. My surgery was nov 19 th. I have lost total of 51 lbs..

Anyone 8 weeks out? How are you feeling? How's you're weightloss going? I hit a stall at 40 lbs down. I'm staying calm and trying to work through it! Here's my success so far. Sorry about the crazy hair! This was a few weeks ago. Can't wait to get down some more!

I've been reading this thread for the last couple of days.... I have started to answer once or twice only to erase and say why bother.
The fact of the matter responses from people that are further out often fall on deaf ears to the newly or about to be sleeved..
They (I did too) like to here the good not the bad.
Yes I have (not had) a food addiction. I am a binge (in secret) eater so I can relate to those of you that do it in secret.
When I first talked about wanting this surgery my husband said "why? You never eat".. I have since opened up to him and told him my dirty secrets.
Ok first off the sleeve DOES NOT CURE food ADDICTION! I need to get that out there. I read lipstick lady's response about it stopping her by throwing up. And another poster two weeks out agreeing with her and assuming this is the way it's going to be for everyone. Not so.
I love you lipstick you know that! But not all of us puke. I have not puked since being in the hospital.
Also the first 6 months? You are still healing believe it or not and for some of us it's easier to stay on track.. I say some of us because more and more I read posts from people that are very early out and are already falling back into their addictive ways. I didn't only because I was scared and followed what my doctor said to do.
Ok things change after the so called "honeymoon" period eating gets easier and you get hungrier and your capacity increases all at the same time like butter said.
But let's get back to addiction. I am an addict I ate when I was not hungry I ate till there was pain. So the pain of being full is not a new sensation.I would stuff food and I would wait and eat again. Obviously my need for food was not my stomach it was my head (and my mouth that constantly watered for food and the want to chew, taste).
The sleeve did not cure this. Yes it's a great tool and I've lost some weight, But I fight my addiction everyday still. Maybe I'm just hard core messed up..more than the rest? Maybe not. I see lots and lots of people that have had surgery and lose initially only to gain it back.. So I'm going to guess I'm not the only one that's got a problem with food.
I still wake up thinking about food and a lot of times I go to bed thinking about it. I still sneak into the kitchen and stuff something in my mouth when no one is looking (yes as I said I am a sneak eater) I'm succeeding for the most part. But I am still an addict and I will be the rest of my life.
Also the fact of the matter is junk food goes down so much easier than dense Protein ( you know the stuff we are supposed to eat) so it can really play with that addicted brain that wants more and more.

Hi everyone!
Today marks 5 months post-op for me, so I figured I would post a few pictures to show my progress. I started out at 288 and this morning I weighed in at 200.7 (ALMOST onederland)! I can't believe how fast the time flew. I would like to lose about 35 more pounds to get to 165. I'm
starting to think that may be too small for my frame, but I'll see as I get closer and will readjust if necessary. Hope everyone is having a great start to 2014!

I haven't be sleeved yet either, but my surgeon is Dr. Gary Katz and the hospital my surgery is scheduled for is St. John Providence in Southfield.

I had my surgery nov 19 and lost total of exactly 50 lbs.
