  4. I was banded oct. 31 '07 and only down 45 lbs. (some is better than none!) Now, I'm at a plateau....Allisangels, 40 lbs in 8 weeks???!!!!! WOW.
  5. Hi all! I havn't visited this thread before an I see some familiar names How are y'all doin'? carlaG, jeremiahsmommy, dj ? I live in williamsburg, was banded on halloween by dr. clark at the WLSC of hampton roads. Things seem to have plateaued for me lately...I probably need another fill. I've had two fills and a slight unfill on the second one. Have a good day all!
  6. Good mornin' ever'body, just thought I'd pop in to say "hey y'all!"...I don't have any plans today (that's my plan! LOL) Hope everybody has a great day! TTYL!
  7. awwwww Betty, thanks so much for that heartwarming thought, I loved it! Made me smile  Jessica, what a sweetie, thank you for your kind words!!! Pat, I appreciate your comments and your encouragement!!! I value, also, your business savvy. So, with all (and I do mean ALL) options to consider, I thank you for your "business owner" insight, and I realize too, that unlike you, not all employers make decisions fairly or with a lot of common sense. I'll keep an open mind. Thanks again! Trish, I hope you feeling a little better today. I remember the things that helped me the most: gas-x dissolveable strips. It doesn't get rid of all the gas pains, but I thought it helped some. I also loved sonic's "party ice" about $1.70 for a 10lb. bag....so good! It really helped with my craving to chew!!! If you"ve never tried it, it's a treat...so soft & crunchy. I'm plagued with a sweet tooth and found the Edy's sugarfree fruit pops a satisfier! As for the discomfort, I could tell a difference every day, on day 7, I could tell I turned the corner and was ready to go back to work. Kat, glad things are better for you and DH. and, oh yeah, I STILL have pool envy! Hey....Pat can't use two at the same time  When she gets her beach pool in and uses it there, I could be HERE, making sure her other pool dosen't get lonely!!!! (hee hee...just kiddin', Pat! :w00t:) :crying: Hey Mandy, any progress on the scooter modifications? sure is a nice looking scooter! Are you still on the same tank of gas? Or are you havin' too much fun ridin' right now?!!! :biggrin2: Eileenie....where are ya? Sherry, good luck with the deck rework around the pool (did I mention I have pool envy? LOL) BTW....how's your yoga "dance pose" going? You ought to see mine! oh yeah, such grace  Donna! Any friend of Pat's is a friend of mine! Welcome aboard
  8. First of all, Trish, I'm thinkin' of ya gal!!! You're gonna be feeling better in no time! AND you got lots of folks to talk to that know just what it's all about! Post when you can! Hello sweeties, well today was kind of a down day....seems like a lot of down days lately! (at least at work anyway!!!!!) You see, the dynamics of the place that I have worked at for the last 22 years has changed. I've seen my employer divorce twice, and marry twice. Wife #3 started working as a subordinate back in about spring '07, then they married in dec. 07. a few months later er 19 yr old son started working there too. Most recently, she cursed at me in front of my other subrdinates. All I can think of is quitting!!!!! That incident was almost two weeks ago now, and things are icy to say the least. can't talk to the boss, wouldn't do any good (I have learned how he i after 22 yrs.!). Besides that, remember: "...when a man loves a woman, she can do no wrong." Well, Whew!!!! glad to get that off my chest! Now I just need to rework my resume, network, pray, "suck-it-up" and work there until I hopefully can hook up with another job! Thanks for being there girls. It DOES mean a lot! Oh, and BTW.....I gained a pound too!!!!!!!!!!! UGH!
  9. Mandy! That scooter is soooooooooo cool! And louie what a cutie! so good to hear from you again and that you're ok. Sorry to hear about the car accident!!! What happened? Trish, my before banding surgery jitters was "though the roof"! Afterward, I was so glad! relaxed and jut took it easy to heal. I did move around quite a bit though because I had a history of blood clots. sorry to hear about your knee though . Please come back and post as soon as you feel able....we'll all be thinking about you. See you in bandland! Pat glad to hear about the new office help working out for you. that's great! I DO feel sorry for the roofers....and the pavers....and anyone else whose job prohibits hem from getting out of the sun. Has the crew be alright? I hope so. I don't know about being off for 3 wks. Jessica....but I sure would like to try it!!!!! Sherry, how was the party? Have fun? Kat, you doin' ok? Hope everything is going alright for ya!
  10. Eileen! so good to hear from ya! How's everybody doing today? Yesterday, here in williamsburg VA, my outdoor thermometer read 102 degrees (that was in the shade!). DH went fishin' out on the boat....he said it'd be cooler out on the Water. He stayed under the T-top on the boat and drank plenty of water and still got ill feeling from the heat. We were supposed t go out today in the boat, but it's gonna be as hot as yesterday was!!!! that's for da boids! I checked the weather channel forecast for our area tomorrow and it said 104 degrees!!!!!!!! :eek:That otta feel reeeeeeeeeeeeal good 'round noon in that large metal warehouse building i work in!!!! UGH! Stay COOL gals!!!!! (oops! I think I have "pool-envy") :incazzato:

You are lookin' so hawt! good job!!!!! Betty!!!!! so glad you got your new laptop! you used to it yet? OK I hope. Pat, hope all's well with you! Try to call you again soon. Wish I had some more to share today...but today was one of those days! 14. Hi Kat!!! I havn't been on in a while, so I thought I'd stop in and see how you're doing. 12lbs.! Wow...A gal I work with had a tt and they removed 7 lbs. from her, and she looks (and says she feels) great! I'm very happy for you being able to have this done...have a dream come true. Take good care of yourself, and know that I'm wishing you a fast recovery!!!!
  15. Welcome Trish, I wish you well with your "progress in the process" :scared2: Hello everybody... I have not been getting my email notifications, so I finally decided to pop in just to see if there were any new posts, and oh my goodess... Sherry! So sorry to hear about your accident! Years ago,my DH was rear ended by a dumptruck (he was in a van with our 9 mo.old son). He said he saw the truck in his mirror, going too fast to stop in time. They were fine. The truck hit the van, but not nearly as bad as your accident sounds. I hope you can get the car repaired and most of all that you are OK. TTYL everybody
  16. Kat, I kept having you pop in my head all day today! I kept reminding myself that I needed to make sure to get in here tonight and wish you well, 'cause your plans are coming soon! Good luck to you! have fun with the shrinking violets and when you get back, that TT will go just fine and you'll be a hot mama! take care!
  17. Hi gals.... I've been typing for a while now! Lengthy personals and all. Skipped back a page then back to my in progress post, but POOF! it dissappeared! UGH! Too tired now. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY EVERYONE!!!
  18. Hey Pat! Fabulous picture! You look like you know what you're doin'! lol! I haven't tried the margerhita sunrise...Let me know how it is if you get a chance to try it. DH is ready to do some serious fishin' too. Looks like mother's day is gonna be a trip to kiptopeake (concrete ships) for some drum. I had sooooooo much fun the last time I went! Caught a huge drum, what a beauty...it was all "catch and release" with the drum, but when its flounder or striper time, it's all keep whatever's legal....love that stuff!!!! :blushing: WTG Jessica!!!!!!!!! What an accomplishment! Congratulations!!!!!!! Just jumped in for a quick post.......g'nite everyone!
  19. Eileen, I'm so very sorry for the loss of Susie. The grief at losing a long loved pet runs so deep. I have been typing and backspacing it all away, two or three times now....and still there are no words. All I wish for you right now is the knowlege that I understand the depth of your grief...and that I'm hugging you right now. Also Hello out there to all of ya! ...Thinkin' of each and every one of you
  20. sherry and mandy, i envy you both! at one time in my life, it's all i ever wanted, to own & ride....now, well.. too many years. can i livve vicariously through you both?
  21. Kat, I understand you being frustrated, angry, scared....I'm sure I would be too!! I agree with Sherry...no apologies needed. We're here for whatever support we can offer, we know you'd do (have done) the same. Eileen....can't get you off my mind. Check in when you can, alright? Betty, I had a hard time trying to send some photos of vacation. I even tried to send some to Pat a while ag and she said they looked like postage stamps! so small she couldn't really make anything out. (I'm not real savvy about the photo posting!) Mandy, I'm so sorry you're having such a time of it...I'm including you in the prayers too for a speedy recovery. Pat, I'm sure everything came out ok. (pardon) hee, hee. Seriously though, I'm glad you got checked-out..Now if I could just get my DH to get HIS colonoscopy! Well, the weekend in DC was very nice. I just wish I could explain why I had such a hard time eating! GRrrrrrrrrr! Everything I tried would just "knot-up" in my chest 'til I spit it back up. I think I got more upset at having my DH see me excuse myself so often, than the actual discomfort. I wonder if the car ride (3 hrs) or loads of walking......nah! that couldn't affect a band!!!! could it?
  22. Sherry, thank you so much for your post, in reply to mine. I really appreciate you sharing how things are for you now that you are two years out....and here I am at only 6 months out. It's so great to be able to share this feelings about the lap band here. I know that there are a great many things that far surpass being concerned about what goes on with my band and me....fact is, surgery was a drastic way to go about addressing my weight problem and I am glad that there is Lap Band Talk available to help with "band" issue concerns. It's twice as nice to have a forum like this and have great people like you folks, to help the newbies like me!!! Thank you so much. Betty's back!!!!!! So glad you had a fantastic time! everything must have been sooooo gorgeous!! Those memories will keep you smilin', every time you think about it, for years to come! Glad everything went well and that you're safely home again. (it probably all seemed to fly by to quickly though, huh?) Kat, I continue to include Manda in my prayers, Although I don't know everything that she's going through, I hope God provides all the strength she needs to deal with everything she needs to, during this difficult time. Jessica, you still in Cali? DH and me are still in DC. We leave tomorrow. Saturday was hot and sunny. Today was about twenty degrees cooler and misty, and we still had a good time! Every time my knee hurt going up steps or just over-exerting in general, I was thinking of you Mandy and hoping you are getting around OK now. I had a torn ACL years ago. repaired with stapling what was left of the torn ligament, to the bone. Then years later, the medical community reports that "that doesn't work" (no kidding!!). Hope your doing better. Big hugsgo out to you Eileen. I remember looking at the pictures of your beautiful girl, lying in the snow...tired after just a little activity. She looked so sweet. You helped me with your kind words when we made the tough decision to put our beloved german shepherd, Heidi, to eternal rest. That was only three months ago. Your old girl is a special beauty, and I know how hard this time is for you. I'm sending out BIG HUGS to you as you move through this time. Well, DH could use some company in this hotel room with me....instead of hanging around listening to me bang on these keys!!!! TTYL
  23. Sherry, loved your bike stories! Glad you're enjoying it! I'm so sorry to hear about the reflux issues. I remember reading some time back, how bad you had it with that dang reflux! Hope it calms down for ya. Kat, thanks for keeping us posted on your DD. You sure do have a lot coming up soon! Violets meeting, TT, It's getting exciting, huh? Sure do miss Pat and Betty. Can't wait to hear about Betty's vacation! Well, I gotta tell ya.....(I shared this with Pat already).....A few times I felt very close to saying "well, it's been nice folks... was great talkin' to you all, gotta leave now....I failed." :w00t: I remember the first fill, how well it worked. The the second fill, how I could barely even keep liquids down! One week later I had to have an unfill (1/2 of what was put in). Now, I can eat sooooooo much! It started with stuff getting "stuck". it seemed like a daily occurance that I had to spit the stuck stuff up...then I'd try to eat again (stupid or what????!!!!!) finally, I'm just eating almost everything bad under the sun! I got "fill shy" when I felt too tight, but truthfully.....My once consistantly sensible food choices have become open to eating some ice cream here, chips there, WTH, why not just have a candy bar! (my eyes are getting misty from recounting all this) My band didn't fail me, I failed my band! 3 meals and one snack, LOL pffffffft! Needless to say, there hasn't been any weight loss!!! I've been gaining and losing the same 2 lbs. for about a month now :tongue2: I know I'm eating while not particullary hungry, what can I DO about that!!! What difference would a fill make then? And as hard as I've tried to grab my shoulders and yank my head out of my *SS it"s still there! Well there you have it my dismay my confession my hope I can still get my head screwed on straight and turn this around! Tomorrow, DH and me will be in DC for an extended weekend. I'm looking forward to it. We used priceline to get a four star hotel $260 per night for $80 a night! in between the capitol and the white house. Not sure yet if I'm taking the laptop or not............I bet I end up taking it tho'!! Thanks for reading my rambling. (Sorry about it being so whiney)
  24. just peekin' in to say hi. i'm at work, no time read posts or type a long post.....was just thinkin' 'bout a great bunch o' folks! have a good day, all!
  25. bex, I'm still trying to learn what I can & can't do. I was banded on Halloween and so far I've learned that chicken (white meat) is always a no-no for me! Sometmes I can eat a little bit of dark chicken meat. I also learned that what works one day just fine, won't on another day for "who knows why!" I remember that when I kept having to spit it back up, I found that I must have aggravated my eusophogus (sp ?), so I took only liquids for 24 hours to calm it down, then things went better :blushing:...don't worry, you'll find what works for you! Talk to your surgeon or your surgeon's staff....they are typically very helpful! Good luck.
