  1. I went for a 6 week follow up and lost NO weight since my last visit. They took fluid out of my band at the last visit. So this time they put fluid back in. Hopefully I will start to lose again. I've been stuck for some time now. I did lose 4 fat lbs. but gained muscle weight. The scale did not budge. I am losing inches. I have gone from a size 20 to a size 14....YEAH!!! I have started my walking routine and hopefully I can start my aerobics workouts again to. My kids are back in school so that means I will have more ME time. I walked 2 miles this morning and it was nice! I love to walk at the park by the river....great way to start the day :frown:

I hope to lose at least 10 lbs before my next visit which is Sept. 16th. Wish me luck!!! :biggrin2:

  2. I went in for my follow up and was at 189 lbs. Down 46 1/2 lbs. since surgery. I had to have a slight unfill due to vomitting. I can't seem to get these allergies under controll. It is causing an enourmous amount of mucus. That is what is causing the vomitting. I hope this is a good adjustment for me. I'd like to see the weight start to fall off again. I say, ONE DAY AT A TIME!

  3. Wow, I've gone from a size 20 to a size 14! I'm so excited. I went and tried on clothes for the first time in a long time. I knew my clothes had gotten way to big but I was not sure what size I actually was until yesterday (6/18/08). I went and was able to fit in a size 14. Now if my boobs would just shrink a little with the rest of my body I'd feel much better. Life is grand!

  4. Well...I went to the Dr. today and I lost 8 lbs. in the past 6 weeks. I guess that's pretty good. I'm happy with that. I am now down to 191. I'm well on my way now to a new me. I feel so much better! I just hope this fill works out....hope I'm not too tight again! Guess we will find out soon!

  5. Yes..I have had the mucus problem. I tried Mucinex because my nurse told me that should help but it did not help me. I went for 2 weeks after my adjustment and threw up everything I put in my mouth and usually after just a couple bites. I finally went and had some fluid removed from my band and my nurse told me to start taking an allergy medicine like Claritin or something perscribed by my family dr. I bought Claritin over the counter and that has helped...I still have some mucus but I'm hoping it clears up once I've been on the meds long enough. I know it was rough for 2 weeks dealing with throwing up each time I would try to eat. I hope you to get some relief and I wish you the best!

  6. Ok...after 2 weeks of throwing up everything I put in my mouth I decided I was too tight. I went in and got a slight unfill and learned that I may have allergies which is causing a lot of nasty build up in my pouch so the food had no place to go. I now have to take an allergy medicine daily and hopefully that will help. I got a slight unfill and was able to eat chicken last night and keep in down. I had lost 5 lbs. in less than 2 weeks...that was good, but I don't want to chance a slippage from throwing up so much. Better to take it slow and do it right!

  7. It's been 7 days since my 6th adj. and I still can't get solid food to stay down. I've been eating a lot of soup broth and I am hungry. When I try to eat solid food I throw it up (not fun)! I have lost a few lbs. in the last 7 days. I think around 4 lbs. I really am glad to get the weight off but I don't like being sick all the time and feeling like my butt is dragging 10 feet behind me. Thinking maybe I need to go back in for a slight unfill. If it's not better in the next couple days I'll be going back in to see my Dr. :crying:

  8. I went for my adjustment today. I had lost 3 1/2 more lbs in the last 3 1/2 weeks and in the last 8 weeks I've lost 10 1/2 inches. I'm down to 199 which is under 200 so I'm happy!!!!!

My weight loss has slowed but I'm still loosing slowly. I have a 10 cc band but I'm still not sure how much fluid is in my band. My nurse Brook did my adjustment today and she said everything looked great. So I just have to keep striving to reach my goal no matter how long it may take to get there. :crying:

  9. Well, I went for my 5th adj. today. The Dr. was not there so his nurse did my adjustment. I was a little nervous at first but she did a good job. Seemed to take her a little longer to hit the port and that was a little painful. I asked about the size of my band and they didn't seem to want to go into those details. The nurse said that they like to go on how the patient feels and reacts to the adjustments and not how much fluid they have put into my band. I didn't push it. I was so dissappointed that I had only lost 2 lbs. since my last appointment. I had lost 4 fat lbs. but gained muscle from exercising so by my scale weight I only lost 2 lbs. That sucks. I will continue to stick to the diet and hope that I will start to drop a little more by the next visit. Still have not reached under 200 lbs. a couple lbs. to go. I only hope to do better next month.

  10. Well,

I have lost 31 pounds since Oct. 5, 2007. It's not coming off as fast as I would like, but the key thing is that it is coming off. I know I couldn't have lost 31 lbs. without surgery so I am happy with my decision. I am loosing about 5 lbs. a month. I'm exercising more now and that makes me feel better about myself. I've motivated a friend and she now exercises with me. I had my 4th adj. on Jan. 31st and I can really tell a difference in the amount I can eat. I have gotten sick a few times, eating too fast, not chewing enough, so I try to be really careful, but sometimes it happens. I know I will reach my goal, one day at a time!

  11. Well, I went for my 3rd adj. and followup on Jan. 3rd. I only lost 5 lbs. this month, but was pleased I lost that much with the holidays. I didn't expect to loose any. I have now lost a total of 28 lbs. I am well on my way. I hope to loose at least 8 more lbs. before my 4th adj. I can tell I've been adjusted this time. I have gotten sick a couple times when eating. I feel so much better already and I still have a long way to go. I'm getting there one day at a time!

  12. Well, I go back to the Dr. tomorrow for another adjustment and follow up. I am a little dissappointed in myself, I don't think I've lost any weight since my last adjustment. I'm eating right but slacked on the exercise with the holidays. I know I have to make the time to fit it in and I will. That is my new years goal, exercise at least 4 days a week. I would love to join the gym again, but it cost so much! I have 3 little one's at home and by the time I get home from working all day I have to tend to them and that makes it hard to fit in the excercise. I know that's no excuse and I have to just do it, and I will. I need some encouragement! My husband is proud of me but he's not into exercising so I'm left to do it with my kids, which can be fun, but they give out on me or get bored with it. It's freezing here right now so it's hard to get outside at this time of year. I'm afraid my Dr. is going to be upset that I have not lost any weight this month. If I have it's only a pound or two, which would be better than none. I HAVE TO DO BETTER! ANY SUGGESTIONS??

  13. I went for my second fill last week and I could definately tell I had a fill. It's been several days now since my fill and I can eat a little more but still feel like I am getting full faster. My weight loss was only 4 and 1/2 pounds this last time. I think I've lost a few more since my fill. So I'm about 25 pounds lighter now since my surgery on Oct. 5th. I wish it were going faster but I need to exercise more. That's my goal after this week my life should start to slow down a bit and I can actually make time to exercise. I'm really happy with my decision to have the lap band. I know I have to keep working hard myself to loose this weight. I can do it!

  14. Well, I had my first fill and now I feel like I can eat what ever I want and I know I can still eat way too much at one time. I did pretty good over the Thanksgiving holiday. I don't think I've lost very much weight, if any, since my adjustment and I go back to the Dr. next week.

I want to go on liquids this week to see if I can loose more weight. I did great the first week when I was on liquids. Not sure if this is a good idea but I feel like I'm failing due to my slowing progress.

  15. Ok, I was nervous for nothing. I had my first fill yesterday on 11/6/07 and it was not bad at all. I feel more restricted, I can tell when I drink. But it feels ok, not too tight. I have lost 18 pounds in four weeks. :clap2:

I'm happy with that. I think I could have lost more if I had not been so sick :sick and was able to exercise more. Maybe, I'm on my way now. I can start a good excercise routine and hopefully loose another 20 pounds before my 8 week follow up. We'll see. :phanvan I just know I feel much better already after just 18 pounds. I can tell a difference in my face with the weight loss so far. :D I love my band even though it's been a rough road so far. Can't wait to get to the new me! :glasses

  16. Well, last week was rough! I had an infection which caused a lot of pain and was not able to eat the proper foods for the proper week I am on since my surgery. I was also dehydrated. I am now in my fourth week after surgery. I am doing well, other than the infection. I hope to start an excercise routine this week, if all goes well. I go back for my 4 week checkup and first fill on Nov. 6th.

  17. Well, I made it through the first two weeks. It wasn't easy, but I did it. I've lost about 15 pounds in two weeks and I'm so proud of myself. I still feel hungry most the time and that is rough. I just keep reminding myself that I'm getting my sexy back! Lord know's I need it back along with my self esteem. My husband has been so supportive and wonderful. He's always supportive and has never made me feel "FAT". So of coarse, I was in denial for so long. Seems like one day I looked in the mirror and there stood someone I didn't know any more. Well, that's all going to change and I am making it happen one day at a time. I go back to see my Dr. on Nov. 6th for my 4 week checkup and first fill. I hope to loose at least 25 pounds by then. But for now I'm just happy that I've lost 15. Go Me!!!!:clap2:

  18. Well,

I was banded on Oct. 5, 2007 by Dr. Ponce in Dalton, Ga. :clap2: It has been a little over one week since my surgery.

The first week was hard :sick. I was hungry and weak :whoo:.

I was getting in my calories but not enough sugar so I had a rough week :faint:. I'm back at work now. I went for my one week follow up just six days after my surgery and I had lost 10 pounds already!!!! :clap2:

I couldn't believe it. I've done great at sticking to the proper lap band diet they put you on just after being banded. It has not been easy, but I made the commitment before surgery to follow the rules and that's what I plan to do. I know with the help of LapBand Talk I can do it! I'm looking forward to my 4 week followup to see how much weight I have lost by then. I'll keep it posted! I can't wait for some solid food :hungry:!

  19. Well, I was scheduled for surgery on Sept. 26th and that did not happen. :faint:The hospital messed up and didn't do my blood tests and the Dr.'s office didn't call to let me know they had not received the results until Sept. 25th :whoo:. So, needless to say my surgery had to be rescheduled and I had to have my bloodwork redone. :car:

I am now scheduled for surgery on Oct. 5th. Just a week and one day away. :clap2: I just keep reminding myself that everything happens for a reason and only God know's the reason behind the delay and the mess ups. So I'm waiting patiently for another week. The hardest part is finding a sitter for my three babies. Now I'll have to work all that out again for a new surgery date. :phanvan

  20. Wow, my surgery is now only one week away on Wednesday Sept. 26th :clap2:. I am excited and scared :omg: at the same time. I went for my pre-op class yesterday where I learned proper eating habits :hungry: and met others that will be getting the lap band.

I will have my hietal hyrnia repaired when they put in my band which can cause more swelling and a little longer recovery time, but I'm ready!

On another note... I lost my brother in law last week 9/12/07 after he went in for surgery to remove a tumor on his kidney. :think There were complications during surgery and he lost too much blood and suffered a heart attack. He passed the day after he had surgery. This has been very tramatic for me and made me even more nervous. No surgery is minor surgery! I'm just praying :car: that God will watch over me through this journey and give me the strength to get through each day one day at a time!!!! :)

  21. Well, I went for my upper gi series on Tuesday Sept. 4th. The Dr. said I have a small hyetal hyrnia. He said it shouldn't be a problem and I should be able to have the surgery but my lap band Dr. has not been over the results yet so I am waiting again to hear from him. If all is well, I can schedule my surgery. Keep your fingers crossed! :car:

  22. Well, My consult with Dr. Ponce went well yesterday . I am scheduled for my upper gi next week :speechles and once the results are in from that test, hopefully I can schedule my surgery date :clap2:. Dr. Ponce answered all my questions and I feel like this is the right decision for me. I am still very nervous :) about doing it, but then surgery is a big deal. I am praying for God's guidance :car: and I know that with him on board I can't loose.

Wish me luck on my test results! :glasses
