    7 days Post RNY

Talk to your doctor about how to personalize your food intake. I used brewed cacao and drinking three a day is actually enjoyable for me. They taste so good. With a little flavored creamer and unsweetend almond milk. I am down 23lbs my first week. I hope to match that next week when I can get into soft solids.

Lying about not getting surgery is awful

As someone with a brain injury, I am considered "neurologically ill" and so this kinda stings. Part of my brain has been cauterized off. The resulting damage has degraded my ability to exercise over the past 5 years. I am completely honest about my surgery and motives for having it. I think it is awful to put down a whole group of people because of the actions of a few. That being said, lying about it is distasteful but some people are ashamed I think. It's up to us to help end the stigma of any if these procedures by being honest and answering questions.

    May Surgeries - check in!

I had my surgery on the 4th. I am one week post-op and 23lbs down. Found a good flavorless isolate that goes great with anything. Barely any pain, apparently there is an anesthesia that stays in the body 96 hours and really cuts down on discomfort. I am excited to start swimming in a few weeks so I can stay mobile and tan at the same time.
  4. At the seminar! The journey begins today.

Best wishes, welcome to the forum!

  5. Thanks for your input Rj, I am excited to begin this journey, but I want to be well informed.
  6. I am new to this forum and I am so glad that I found this place! Anywho, I have a very physical job at a shipping company and I am a voice major. For work, I must be able to lift and carry 75lbs, bend down, and stand for long periods of time. Is 3 or 4 weeks off work really long enough to recover? Then there is the singing which requires using abdominal muscles to push air out. This isn't a procedure I should have during the school year, right? I take about five voice classes per semester. Also, I am going to a seminar tomorrow, are there any questions (besides maybe the ones I just asked) that I might not think to ask?
