I am a criminal defense attorney. I can tell you that if this guy hasn't had a load of DUI's at this point, then he is probably is not a drunk and fine on the job. He made a poor choice for sure, but I certainly hope it doesn't ruin his life or practice. Everyone makes mistakes, let him take responsibility for it and move on. I am sure he will have to answer to the licensing board and work it out with them. Best of luck, but I would not freak out about it.

Ahh the incentive barometer thing!! I didn't use that as much as I was supposed to, which would be why I forgot about it, I couldn't remember to use it when I had it! Lol

Most people don't have time to make their own sauces. I often do crock pot chicken Cooked with salsa, I shred it up and eat it on salads all week. I feel it's important to eat a balanced diet. Sugar and carbs included (complex) in moderation of course. Congrats on you for your loss. Different strokes for different folks. because I still consume a smidge of sugar doesn't mean I am not worthy of the surgery or that my surgery is a "waste". I eat anything I want in moderation. This isn't a diet and I refuse to obsess over and be consumed by what I am eating. I just am overwhelmed by your audacity to criticize someone using taco seasoning. I literally LOL'd. Cheers!

I keep getting those comments too and it is really beginning to piss me off. My "best friend" said she would rather be fat than have loose skin. Another woman who was eavesdropping on a conversation I was having with my fiancé, a complete stranger... Said, "you better start saving to get all your extra skin removed." I'm sure if I had a sister and she said that, it may sting a little more than a complete stranger. Either way it is so unpleasant and degrading to hear. For what it's worth I think you are beautiful! Try not to let the haters get to you!

Lol lol I had those days, and I have them now being a few months post op. Just different frustration now! Now I'm frustrated because my pouch likes something one day but doesn't the next. Eating has just become a pain in the ass, if I didn't have to do it anymore, I wouldn't. (Never thought I'd say that). You can do it, I believe in you and it will all be worth it. Keep your eye on the prize (you).

You should be gettin some protein from whole foods as they said. I have a really hard time with meat unless it's slow cooked in a crock pot and shredded. I made an awesome protein packed turkey chili last night that I'll prob eat off for several days. It sits really well with me.

the fat acceptance movement seems to have changed a lot in the 15 years since i first read stuff about it.
i am appalled, disgusted and revolted by the way people think they can treat obese people. i have worked with obese people who have PTSD from the way they have been treated. its horrendous. i dont understand where the venom and rage comes from. why some people feel that being fat makes one not human anymore. it not only confuses me, it makes me really really sad. i hate it and feel that its part of a larger problem of an non-compassionate and angry culture we live in.
but what i see now is not people talking about people treating obese people with common respect, compassion and kindness, but people who seem to believe that its better to be fat than healthy. because "thats who i am." and losing weight equals fat phobia. this seems a bizarre projection to me. not loving or caring for myself is how i got fat. loving myself was WHY i got this surgery... i dont care for myself now BECAUSE i lost 85 pounds. i lost weight because i cared enough to do something drastic to get healthy. i love my children, i love being their mommy. i dont want to drop dead when my kids are teens like my dad did.
a lot of what i see people posting on blogs and FB seem to be excuses for not getting healthy and taking care of themselves. i have an obese friend who posts all kinds of stuff on FB, and she doesnt seem to have a clue how she is coming across... bitter, blaming and a huge victim. that is NOT what the original fat acceptance movement was all about. now it just seems like fat people encouraging each other to stay fat, sick and unhealthy. its the flip side of those sites where people encourage each other in exercise addiction/bulimia/anorexia. really disturbing. imagine places online where people encouraged each other to shoot dope or drink addictively or gamble compulsively. somehow if its food, its different. (no, its not)

This made me giggle, not because you suffered and had to deal with all those things as I can relate. But because I could relate to playing video games until 2am and eating. I was wondering if there were any other munchies/gamers amongst the boards. Don't get me wrong in the evening I do still stay up and play video games until 2am >.> I just don't eat now! I don't even think about food when I play. Liberating! For the horde!

I was in no way arguing, if you take posting facts as arguing with you, well then I'm sorry you feel that way. I think it's important for people to be educated that not all fats are bad and though sat fats are not heart healthy, some of the other fat counterparts in the same item outweigh the bad. Like you said anything in moderation.

    Count me as another gamer/muncher!
I still game (although not quite as much...I went back to college just before my surgery, so that cuts down on gametime.) but now I have a nice glass of ice Water sitting beside me to sip. I can't wait for Warlords of Draenor (kinda on a WoW hiatus until then, working my way through Borderlands 2 and Guild Wars 2)
