  1. Until God can start showing up to put food on peoples tables instead of tax payers, people need to only have as many kids as they can afford. I dont care if god told you to have 40 kids or if he told you to build gods army or if you just want a huge household of kids, it is irresponsible to waste other peoples resources. I dont care what religion you are. That being said, I support welfare programs and wic and foodstamps. These programs serve a wonderful function to society and should be used, not abused. Having that many kids with no means to support them is irresponsible. You can throw around 'life begins at conception' all you want, the truth of the matter is, kids are expensive and resources on this planet are limited, ecpecially with as much as we waste. You dont have the right to claim religious reasons to have children other taxpayers have to support. Unless, of course, your god is going to meet you at the supermarket and pay for your groceries for you.
  2. If you had read the OP carefully, you would have seen that her issue is not that she is blaming her dh for her being fat, she is becoming aware of the dynamic of her relationship with him being part of the problem. She is coming aware that this relationship is going to have to evolve into something different and it is clear, by her dh's attitude, that he is resisting these changes. Her dh is notbeing supportive, he is passive-aggressivly sabataging her with the guise of being supportive. Happens all the time. You THINK you made your point with reason and logic but you missed the point entirely. She is not asking for a hug or posting this for ducks and bunnies and rainbows and unicorns, this is a legitate concern many of us have.
  3. Ok, I do have to admit that I still really really enjoy milk duds. My 5 year old just shared hers with me. LOL.
  4. LMAO, I am a bit of a dork like that,, too!! I am in dallas till tomorrow and it is stressing me out to not have access to a treadmill till wednesday. How will I catch up by next monday!!??
  5. Well, do you enjoy sex alone? If you are able to get yourself off with reasonable enjoyment then the problem may lie with your partner. If you dont ever paddle your own canoe, this might be a good time to start and figure out what you like so you can tell your partner what you enjoy!
  6. I started couch to 5 k last week, too! Wednesday I start week 2!! I broke my plateau's gradually, I just kept on it and eventually the scale budged. Lots of times they were due to too much sodium or TOM issues. Once I get that last pound down I plan to up my goal anouther 10 pounds. I made my initial goal of 190 now I am just taking it in 10 pound increments as I make my way to the 160's!
  7. Dont see too many posts here, thought I start one to see how everyone is!
  8. I was close at 295. i was 279 morning of surgery. I hit onederland on October 24th and my surg. date was jan 2nd.
  9. Sure sounds like it! It sucks donkey balls but it will get better
  10. You are and look amazing!!
  11. Well, it is easier to alter a size down than a size up if I understand that right! I would be generous with your estimates then get it altered within 3 weeks of the wedding if you need to get it taken in.
  12. Sounds like you have a good plan, just hang in there!
  13. You might find, after you get close to or at goal, that you redefine normal. I found that I no longer have a relationship with food, it is a means to fuel my body to get through the next few hours. I dont care about bread or pasta or cheeseburgers. If it is reasonably healthy, available, and tasty enough I will eat it. I try to eat what is healthy and low in sodium but other than that, it is a non-issue. What I am saying it dont worry too much about it. Your tastes and attitude towards food will change and this is often a good thing.
  14. I gotta say, I freaking LOVE skipping the fat girls clothes at Kohls and finding rockin' pants in my size on clearance! I hated being fat. I love being ME!
  15. Isnt that awesome? That point where you have the energy, attitude, and inclination to live life with gusto? That in itself is the reason I have a smile on my face these days!!!
  16. I have 6.7 cc in a 10 cc band and have had fab restriction for a few months now. At least since october, if I remember right. I eat 4-6 ounces at a time right now and feel fine. I plan to start getting unfills in about 10-20 more pounds so I can maintain. There is no way I can eat enough right now to maintain my current level of fitness.
  17. I am a Domestic Engineer, Mistress of my Household, Dispenser of Fig Newtons and sugar free Kool-aid, Assembler of small plastic battery operated toys, Household Chauffeur, Therapist, Pack Mule, Translator of Toddler-speak, and full time Chef. I am expected to have the patience of a saint and a memory like a steel trap. I could go on but I think you see what I mean!
  18. sodium intake, time of the month, even ovulation all impact how and when i lose weight. I rarely lose when I ovulate or the week leading up to my period which leaves me with a two week window of opportunity to lose weight in any given month. I tend to lose in chunks then nothing for a while no matter how hard i am busting my ass. Just keep at it, your body will catch up eventually.
  19. For me, I wonder if I see way too much of my former self in those who are gorging themselves.
  20. How about training for a marathon or lowering your BMI a point or something if you really need a goal. Hell, I dont know. I cant even believe that you would wonder if it is worth it. Are you so bored you need to eat for entertainment? Pick up a book. Learn to knit. Volunteer. Seriously.
  21. I totally understand what you are saying.
  22. Yeah, except for ice cream, that is still good LOL. I find that after more than a year now I view food as a means to keep from passing out for the next few hours. It is not a relationship that I nurture but a means to keep going. Food is a fuel, not a friend, so I dwell less on how things taste. There are quiet a few things that I dont like the taste of anymore, soda included.
  23. I carry Cliff Oatmeal, raisin, and walnut bars with me at all times so I dont need to hit fast food!! Worse case, I get a 4 piece chicken nugget!
  24. Well, I went from consult to band in a matter of weeks and I think it is safe to say I am a success and I certainly am a rule - follower.
