  1. Kathy thank you so much for those words....made me immediately feel better! I so know what you mean, I'm so ready for the day to be here. I woke up this morning and thought a week from today it'll be done and I'll be on the road to a new and better me! Thanks again all of y'all are so sweet on here and for that I am so grateful!
  2. Hi all....my surgery is set for Friday, the 29th and I'm hoping to find someone that has used the same surgeon as me so I can know what to expect. If so, please let me know cause my nerves are fried and I could sure use some encouragement. I especially hope to hear some great experiences with Dr. Jay so if you have any.....please, please let me know. Thanks.
  3. My date is set for April 29 and I'm so nervous....any encouragement would be so very appreciated!
  4. I also have UHC and am using Dr. Jayaseelan and having my surgery done on the 29th at Richardson Surgical Center. Someone from the Center called me yesterday and confirmed my insurance pays 100% because it's out-patient surgery.
  5. Congratulations! I hope I do as well as you after I have my surgery. It's so helpful reading all these posts. Keep up the good work!
  6. Mark....I'm so happy you're doing this good! Just think how cool it's gonna be when you hit that stage a lean, mean singing machine! Just follow your doctor's and most importantly your wife's orders!
  7. I'm in McKinney and I'd love to meet any time! This site is so great as are the people! It is helping me more than I can say. My surgery is set for the 29th and I plan on being a regular on this site from now on! If anyone has any ideas or suggestions on get-togethers, let me know, please!
  8. I found this great group in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area that have clothes swaps. What a great idea! They meet every so often and beforehand they list what sizes and types of clothing they are bringing and people can list sizes and items they are looking for. Then they all meet and have a clothes swap. I think that is just about one of the best ideas I have come across and I can't wait to participate! My surgery is the 29th and I stated my liquid diet yesterday and I'm happy to say...so far, so good, I have felt like murdering anyone yet!
  9. How often do you get a fill?
  10. What does PB mean?
  11. Finding this site was a God send! Just having support like this is tremendous! My surgery is being done at Richardson Surgical Center on April 29 by Dr. Jayaseelan or Dr. J as his patients call him. I've heard so many wonderful things about him. Anyone else use him that you know of?
  12. Hi y'all! Well, I started my liquid diet today. I technically don't have to start it until Thursday but I figured all the heck I put my poor liver through it would need some extra shrinkage time! Giving up my diet Dr. Peppers are gonna be the hardest thing for me but I can do it (she said not so convincingly). My surgery date is April 29th and I am so ready....nervous, anxious but so excited! I so look forward to becoming a healthier person. I have a new granddaughter and she's my inspiration to lose this darn weight so I can keep up with her! It's so great having all of y'all in this with me cause no one understands like someone that's either gone through this or is going through this.
  13. I so know what you're going through! One minute I'm so excited I can't wait and the next I'm scared senseless! I guess that must be the normal response to any surgery. I've only had one surgery in my whole life and that was gallbladder surgery 4 years ago and I breezed through that so hopefully this will be the same. I can so relate to all that you're feeling. Just take comfort in knowing that you're not alone! I know that's what's helping me through this. Good luck and God bless!
  14. Jennifer....my date is April 29 and I'm in the same boat as you are! One minutes I'm so excited I can hardly stand it, then the next I'm scared out of my wits. I'm just ready for my new and better life to begin! Things are only going to get better for us....we just have to remember that!
  15. YIIIIIIKKKKKEEESSSS.....I just noticed our ages show up and now I feel like the room mother! LOL
  16. Mark, I can't tell you how happy I am to have you as my "band mate". This is going to be quite a trip for us! I'll be at Hank's come June 4 right in the front row!
  17. First off, I am so glad to have found this site! I'm having my lapband surgery in a couple of weeks and hope to gather some info and support! I've read some of the posts and I have already learned a lot. I look forward to hearing from others who are on this journey with me!
