  1. I am amazed that I dont miss soda's any more. I gave them up about 2 months ago I havent been banded yet but I know how bad soft drinks are for the body/teeth and your helth. That I thought I would just go cold turkey. I have the hardest time when I order a meal out. It is just habit to ask for a coke. I keep having to correct myself and ask for lite lemonade or a large water. The hardest for me is going to be no drinking with eating. That is what worries me the most.
  2. oooh I am going to try that this weekend it sounds yummy
  3. My brother and his girlfriend are vegitarian. They taught me how to make miso soup cause I LOVE it. all you do is Get "Miso Paste" from the health food store Boil water add a chopped up veggies and green onion of your choice Chop "Firm" Tofu into small squares when the veggies are slightly cooked add the tofu and stir in a small amount of Miso Paste I mix the paste with the broth before adding it to the soup to get out any clumps. You just add as much or as little as you want It is a nice soup that is extremely healthy What I am going to do during mushy stage is make the soup drain out the veggies add the tofu to the broth with miso and eat/drink it that way. Yum I might make that tonight for dinner.
  4. I would ask the doctor if you can have that. and if not why. I know for me information is the key. if their is a good reason why you cant chew your calories instead of drink them. But definitly ask your doctor if there is a pre op diet that you will have a better chance of sticking to.
  5. I think They will not stay at my house. but it is nice that they all volenteered to help me out. I think I would rather fart in private lol.
  6. I am so glad your feeling better. I have never had surgery before, never even been in a hospital before and am more woried about what I dont know then what I know.
  7. Let me just say I have the best friends in the whole world. I was talking to my friends trying to see if anyone could take me home from the hospital. Three of my friends told me that it is not an issue they were taking a vacation dayfor my surgery. They all told me that I was important to them and they were definitly going to be there for the whole thing. I tried to tell them they didnt have to do that but they were insistant. One of my friends dad called me and told me he would drive me to the hospital if I needed it too. I love my friends. I was just stunned that they offered to do all of that.
  8. That sounds great! I love fish that dosent taste fishy. I love the cottage cheese with parmasan cheese that sounds good. My favorite is putting pineapple in my cottage cheese. ummmm
  9. I always want tuna salid or egg salid but I am alergic to mayo it gives me hives. the ingredients in it dont get me but the jared stuff kills me.
  10. I am really not big on the Protein drinks but I do know cottage cheese has TONS of Protein in it. I have been trying to find regular food with lots of protein in it. any help I can find would be great too. I just have problems with the after taste or gritty taste of the drinks. also dont like spending tons of money on something I am not sure I will like.
  11. What about a tostada. Corn tortila with FF refried beans lettus tomato onion?
  12. I was thinking about doing the Taxi thing too. it is just going to cost me a bundle for the taxi. it is like 50 bucks each way. If the hospital I was going to be at had a decent hotel near by I would use it but it is in a bad area of town where all the nudie bars are. I dont know what I am going to do yet. I still have to work that part out. But knowing people have delt with being aline after surgery helps me out.
  13. I have never had any surgerys or even been in the hospital. I am worried about not knowing what is going on. I have already wrote a letter for my parents if something should go wrong. THAT is how worried I am. I havent even had my surgery date scheduled yet I dont know what is going to happen when it gets closer to the time.
  14. I have found my NEW cure for hiccups....I blow bubbles thru a straw. till all my air is gone. It seems to be working for now. I work customer service it is so funny getting hiccups when talking to a customer. They all laugh. oh well as long as it wont hurt the band.
  15. I am glad someone asked this question. I also live alone and having my parents here would be silly I would have to help them. I have friends but I would feel bad asking too much of them. I am trying to figure out who I could get to take me home from the hospital all my friends work. and I just dont want to inconvience any of them. I am glad to hear I am not the only one alone.
  16. I havent heard that one I have had them (according to mom) since before I was born.
  17. LOL I went to my seminar last night (pre-op) and I asked the question on hiccups. I get the hickups atleast once a day. Have for my whole life and I was wondering if they could cause any problems. The Dr. said they shouldnt be a problem. I was worried about the band moving. Do yours hurt? How bad are they?
  18. For me it is a lot of things. I am tired of diets not working and everyone telling me I am not trying hard enough. I am tired of not being able to fin in a chair with arms. Not going to the movies, not going on trips in an airpaine. I miss that I cant take my nieces to the amusement park. I hate the fact that walking tires me out. I hat worring about if I am going to be chaifed because I was walking. I hate listening to all those doctors telling me I need to apply myself because I am too over weight. I hate seeing my legs swell If I am not moving enough. I hate having nice clothes in my closet and not being able to wear them. I love me and I think I am pretty...Till I see a mirror or a picture...it is just not how I see myself.
  19. From what I understand the carbonation expands the pouch, and can cause slippage. And I think all that is uncomfortable.
  20. I work for a company that makes soda machines. The frozen ones still have carbonation. Not as much but they still contain carbonation. Freezing actualy holds the carbonation.
  21. What about doing the liquid diet? What are you doing now?
  22. You could always call a cab. I am a single female and and am going to be doing the surgery all by myself. I am getting a ride to the hospital and home in a cab. My doctor said it is ok. I just cant drive.
  23. If you have had lots of Soda's you could be getting a headache from lack of caffiene. I have been trying to cut out coke's for a while and the headache's get me every time
