I am sorry to hear about all your going through, but I am very happy to hear it isnt slippage! That is scary.

My Dr. has had success getting them to pay. My husbands friend from work got them to pay and his bmi was only 38 and he had sleep apnea. I dont think I will have much of a problem. I hope not anyways.

Eliza, Thanks so much for replying back. I am so excited! Tomorrow, I get to go to my Pshycholgist visit! I called and they had a cancellation. This is the last step for me and then I have to wait for everything to be submitted and get word from insurance. Keep your fingers crossed that everything goes well tomorrow and I am not admitted for being crazy! LoL My Doctor has a different approach about giving a fill. They said that once the band is in place it is a "tool", that you have to use that "tool" to lose the weight. You need to eat right and drink your Water and exercise. The nutritionist said that they dont do any restricting of the band until they see a halt in your weight loss. She said that they have had people not get a fill for a year and they have lost all the weight they needed too in that year. She said to eat 3 meals a day and two Snacks in between. She said to drink your water all day. Sip on it all day to make sure you keep your hydration. Make sure you pick the right foods and nutrition throughout the day and you will see steady weight loss with out the fill. We shall see. She said everyone is different. She said my Doctor has never had one slip on them to where he had to go back and re-adjust it. What does your diet consist of right now? Let me know and I can share some things that she told me. I know the first two weeks I will only be able to drink Protein shakes and water to get all the protein and water I need. I can have hot tea and chicken broth, but I have to make sure I get in the 45mg of Protein a day. Let me know and I can email it to you. OK, I will get off of here now. Eliza, How can you tell you need a fill? What does it feel like? So many questions from someone that hasnt even had it done yet! I went to the nutritionist today and it was very insightful. She had a lot of things to add and made me feel a lot better about doing this. I can't wait. I wont be able to have my surgery until June now but that is no big deal. I dont want to rush things. Plus my husband and I are going on our 10th year anniversary to Vegas on the 13th of June so I want to be able to enjoy it! lol Please keep me updated on your progress. Hi Judy and Kathy, Yes, I am from South Carolina. I am about 20 minutes from Charlotte, NC and I know where Randolph road is! That is great. I am so excited and can't wait to have my surgery. It will be great to see others and get to know their experience face to face. I really thank you for directing me here Kathy. Judy, I would come on the 29th but I am going away on the 23rd for a Wedding so I dont think my hubby would be happy if I left the following weekend! lol Maybe next time I would be able to travel up and visit with you all. It would be great. I think Durham is about 3 hours from me. Not too terribly far? I would have to get a hotel and stay the night after I ate! lol Hopefully I will be banded by the next time you guys do this. Keep me updated! Thanks to you both! Angie

That is great news! 15 pounds is a big deal Girl! Keep up the great work. How do you feel? Are you getting used to the liquids and mushies? I think that first stage will be hard for me, but I will do fine I am sure. I go to my Nutritionist tomorrow. I just had to fill out a questionaire and it was long. Asking all kinds of weird stuff. I guess they have to do that to make sure you are not crazy and doing this for the wrong reasons. I hope Kathy is doing fine. I can't wait to hear how it went for her. Let us know when you can.

Hang in there girl! I am sure it is hard. To go in one day and not be able to eat what you want. I will be there soon enough. It is hard to even think about it. How much have you lost? I got there 5 minutes past and they wouldnt see me because the Doctor needs a full hour with me. I was so upset because I had my date switched out so I could go early. That was a big let down yesterday. So I am back to the drawing board on calling and seeing if any cancellations have happened. Oh fun! I am sure this part before the surgery is very stressful. Wow, Good Luck to her! I hope all goes well. Let me know how it goes? I grew up in Chesapeake Va. I moved down here in SC 5 years ago with my husband for his job. I would like to lose 100 pounds if at all possible. I really don't have that many health problems. But have a history of Diabetes in the family. I also got Gestational Diabetes with all 3 pregnancies. I sure hope insurance pays for it. I am working hard. I was suppose to see the psycologist on the 18th but I called them today to see if there was a cancellation and there was! I go to them on Monday! I can't wait! That means surgery date would be put up a couple more weeks. So hopefully I can get this done by the time I go to Vegas in June! Thanks to you all that have welcomed me here. It is really nice. Hello Everyone, My name is Angie and I am new to this forum. I am looking to have the lap-band done as soon as I can. I am 220 pounds with a BMI of 41. I am going to Dr. Bauman in Concord NC. The paper work is the long and drawn out process. I hope it doesn't take to long to get a date and get my surgery. I am very excited and worried all in one. I am sure alot of you have gone through this. I have looked around on this forum and really think everyone on her is doing really well. I hope I have a success story to tell and brag about one day. I can't wait to put my before and after pictures on here. That will be a big highlight for me. I will keep you all updated on my progress and let you know when I have a date. Thanks Kathy! lol They are probably wondering who the hell I am? lol I will definetly do that. When I talk with Dr. Baumen again before surgery I will ask him about this and see what he has to say. I am happy to hear that he does them so I don't have to find someone else. Hopefully they will change their minds and help you out. I have really enjoyed the forums today, especially the poopie one! Hey, Thanks for posting! I am really excited about this and can't wait. It is great to know there are some girls near me that will have the lap-band. My other friends have had the gastric RNY with Dr Rutledge and Dr Bauman. I am the first of us girls to go with the lap-band. I am sure will go well. I can't wait to see your results and how you do with the surgery. It is coming up fast!

Forgot to answer about Bauman. He is up in Concord, NC. He is a good hour away from me in Lake Wylie. Check out his website http://www.lgbsurgery.com/I like him and I know 4 people that have gone with him and have all done really well.

I am hoping Insurance pays. My friend Steve has the same insurance and they payed for his and his BMI was 38. He has sleep apnea and so they went ahead and payed for it. So keep your fingers crossed they will pay for me. I don't see a problem. I just need to get all my paper work done and submitted to get a surgery date and approval from insurance. They said it will take a week after submission to approve it. I will keep you guys posted.

This is my first day on this forum and I am in awe! You look amazing! I don't have a date for my lap-band yet. I am in process of it. Hopefully in May. But I hope that I do as well as you have with your band. What a beautiful family, I am sure you are very proud. I have three little girls and I know what your going through with all of them sick at once. Good luck and hope they feel better soon.
