  1. Hi Chris, my doctor had me drink a magnesium citrate bottle the day before while only on clear liquids. No eating or drinking after midnight. Your nutritionist should have covered this in your class. The doctors prefer a very clean tummy while doing the WLS. I would suggest to call your doctors office. All doctors are different. I had to 2 week liquid diet, however in reading others experiences, some don't. Hope this helps : )
  2. Great info and resources!! Thx u!
  3. Thank you Chris!! Great info!! I'm going to try. I have blue cross blue shield PPO. That works be great if they approve. Do they supply yours for 1 month or 3? I had my surgery yesterday morning and in recovery today. Still need to order or buyfew more vitamins/products for my 2nd week. Thank you!
  4. Thank you for asking Skikyd I had my surgery this morning at 8:30 Overall I think I'm doing ok. They nurses say I'm doing fabulous. I took them up on all med offers in the recovery room, before surgery also told the anistigiologist I was having major anxiety, gave a cocktail as he said its 5 o clock somewhere. LOL!! So far I've walked around he hospital 11 times today after 3pm when I felt clear minded and no so dizzy. I have 14 more to complete a mike. I've brushed my teeth, doing my lung pump exercise, and so far ok The nursery just asked me if I needed more meds, morphine or norco whatever they give for pain. I refused it for now, only bcuz I'm waiting for my family to arrive and be alert. As soon as they leave I will have for my meds. My drain pump is not too bad, have bee able to go to the restroom alone. I'm afraid to turn on my side to rest but I don't know why. I think I will when meds kick in, when I get our if bed it feels like my stomach is so empty and feels weird. As a diabetic/hypoglecmic I have a moment earlier thinking my sugar was low but all it was, was the gas in my chest do I panicked a bit, they injected antiflamatory med, I burped and felt better. My nurse and staff are great, have my own room and resting up. I'm at the end if the hall, so it's not that noisy. My throat us super dry but keep using my ice Water sponge to moisten my tongue and lips. Chapstick is a lifesaver It does hurt a bit to inhale when meds starts wearing off. The nurse said I might be in more pain tmrw bcuz I still have the anesthesia meds in me right now. Oh the nice news this morning was, before liquid diet I was weighing 266, this morning I was 254 so I lost 12 lbs, but hadn't weighed myself til today. I will keep y'all posted!! Thank you everyone again for the well wishes and asking. Still can't believe I've made it this far. Smiling with a bit of pain

  14. Thank you everyone!!! Your experiences and honesty has really helped me lots and hope it helps many others as well. Well so far I've survived my liquid diet and scheduled for my surgery in 2 days, Thurs., 11/14/13. Arce inky lots a few pounds but that was the least of my worries, it was how to survive while being a diabetic/hypoglecmic while in thus liquid diet. My pcp took me off my diabetic metaformin meds as I did struggle the keep my sugar levels up during first couple of days. Today is the first day I felt good and not so nervous or anxious. Tmrw I go see the Hops nurse for cross match pre-op surgery check in. All your experience have lifted me and kept me motivated and asuures me I'm doing the rift things for all the reasons. Looking forward to all postive and successful WL dats ahead if me. Thank you all for your time to reply. I shall be back to share my experience, the good, bad and ugly. Peace!

  17. I'm very sorry to hear this happening to you. It's a horrible feeling to experience this and I truly get you when you say not feeling like leaving your home. I tools my Physe doctor all about this and she suggested me getting on depression meds wit is help these symptoms. The only thing that helps me get through them us drinking a sweet drink, even though my sugars are normal and a Xanax to control me from going from anxiety to full panics episodes. Please keep me posted as to what your doctors finds or says. It makes me nervous to know know what to expect after my WLS and would like to know what you're doing to help it go away or subside I was diagnosed with hypoglecmia before I became a diabetic about 8 yes ago. I have experienced most of the symptoms you described. Light headed, dizzy, confusion, rapid heartbeat, palpitations, vet scary especially when it suddenly occurred when driving. It happens randomly but being a diabetic, these symptom feel exactly like when your sugar/glucose levels are low as well. So I would is check my sugar level and it was normal, then woukd check my highblood pressure and it would be a a bit high bcuz I go into anxiety/panic mode. I've learned how to mentally mainipulate these horrible symptoms but also afraid or leave home without having snacks or juice in my carry bag or my Xanax. I'm scheduled for my WLS sleeve this coming Thurs., 11/14/13 and worry about everything you mentioned and ask myself what if it gets worse and hoping it actually goes away. It's ine if my biggest fears, and what if I feel like this after WLS and my sipping of drinks/juice doesn't digest ruche away to help make me feel better. Now I can just chuckle down any bottle if juice or soda, but what about after WLS. My purpose for my surgery is to hopefully get rid if of my diabetes, highblood pressure abs get off all meds. Today is my first day I didn't feel that horrible low blood sugar feeling which I had worried about all along when I was told I had to do the liquid diet for 2 weeks before my surgery. I'm honestly in shock I've been able to control and maintain my sugars level only due to the fact that my pcp asked me to stop taking my metaformin diabetic meds since I had struggling the first 3 to 4 days. Now I wait for Wednesday when I have to be in complete clear liquids and drink the magniseeum cleanser. I called the nut and asked her how am I suppose to handle being on empty stomach and go to surgery fasting. She asked me to carry along with my the chewable glucose tablets just in case. I certainly hope you've had better luck from this symptoms and can control them my eating or young calories. I have read of some ppl having protien drinks before abd must after workouts. Please share what's working for you and hope you're feeling better
  18. Oh yes, gas x strips too, I have those already for when I return home. My nut., told us we cannot bring any meds into hospital but good to have ready at home. The hospital will supply all meds including any to help for gas : )
  19. November 14, Burbank, CA I'm on my 3rd day of pre-op liquid diet, much harder than u thought, due to being a diabetic/hypoglycemic Today I had my 3 hours nutrition class, very informative.
  20. Great idea!!! Other items ppl have suggested and our Nutrionist during my pre-op 3 hours class today --Chap stick or Vaseline for lips since we canny drink anything and mouth and lips will be dry. --Comfy walking shoes as we will be required to walk 30 laps through day around the nurses station -- Comfy stretch pants, or like pj pants or sweats pants --comfy walking shoes for all the waking required.
  21. Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences and honesty about WLS! My thoughts and positive energy going out to those not felting well or dealing with complications. Things can only get better! I'm on my pre-op diet day 2 and it's not as easy as I thought, mentally I felt prepared and then when my husband cooked for the family and I saw a beef roast, I cheated and had a small piece. Back on the liquid diet for remainder of night and will continue to do so during the week I truly feel being on a diet is much easier when at work or away from home. Everyone keep up the success WL journey, you're all truly inspiring and motivating to hear all you has to go through and are still going through!! Positive energy going you ways!! Thank you all again!! : )
  22. Is anyone on here a diabetic before surgery and now gone or do you still have diabetes? How do you handle the liquid diet before WLS?? My surgery sleeve us on 11/15, started liquids yesterday, my sugars were low so I ate a string cheese and I felt better
  23. Crista, I had the same symptoms you described when I was on the Lindora diet, I got so suck I went to see my pcp and she asked me to stop doing the Lindora diet I had been on for 9 months. When my lab and urine came back, my ketosis was too high. I felt all you mentioned, and end up with a viral infection. Sounds like my immune systems was too weak or what the doctor told me. I stopped the diet until I felt strong and healthy again. Later I stopped Lindora completely bcuz I still kept getting the clamy, sweaty, sudden anxiety feelings at any given time. Mind you I'm a diabetic but when I works check my glucose it was at good level. Are you a diabetic or hypoglycemic? Or could be maybe your blood pressure may be too low. They symptom you described is how I feel when my sugar us low or blood pressure. I would highly suggest to call your pcp doctor to do lab work and check everything from your epilepsy meds, to thyroid, glucose etc... I too wonder if this WLS and my heart data yes, I worry too if I will do fine later and what if these symptoms continue. You're not alone, keep us posted. What stands out to me is that your WLS doesn't have you on a pre-op diet and also that you're still eating and having unknown symptoms, but what's causing them even while you've eaten.
