Skin shrinkage
I honestly don't think working out affects the skin, just fills you out underneath. I am pretty ripped if I do say so myself, but there is loose skin on top--some places worse than orhera

Every time I eat, my stomach gets all gurgley and uncomfortable...
No discomfort just to clarify. The gurgling.

I'm 15 months out and mine still does that! Especially at bedtime.

Hairloss question?!?
I did all the right things and lost clumps starting at 6 months until about a year out. It's coming back in now

low bmi still obese
Yay for taking your life and future into your own hands! I think it's great! Wish I had done it at your stage instead of waiting... Course for me that would have been b4 gastric sleeve was really available and it's been perfect for me so I guess for that I'm glad I waited.

Non Scale Victories I tell mine you tell yours
Having wrist surgery last week and discussing pain med dosage and she said "you probably only need the low dosage, you're pretty small." Putting on the size small triathlon kit I got on clearance a month ago bc they didn't have a medium and having it fit.
-
Did you take your clothes off to weigh in the first time?
Oh gosh no! I could have even kept my shoes on if I wanted to.
-
Anyone have a problem with their teeth going bad after surgery?
No teeth issues here.
-
Bougie size
Wow! This is interesting! Even when I had my surgery 15 months ago the trend was to the smaller bougie size (mine is a 32 and no complications here anyhow). Seems like surgeons are moving to the bigger ones. Interesting to watch things evolve!

Do you miss anything about being fat?
I'm 20 yrs married this year and it doesn't matter I still get the attention. And it isn't only male/flirty/sexual attention... It's the salespeople in stores approaching me... The eye contact from cashiers... Other runners smiling and waving... Other people in waiting rooms striking up conversations...It's like I've rejoined the human race. I didn't notice how invisible/overlooked I was till I wasn't.

Do you miss anything about being fat?
I miss being overlooked at times. I now get lots more attention from salespeople, men, pretty much everyone. Sometimes I preferred being "invisible"

How can I increase my protein intake during the first four weeks post op...?
Well it DOES add calories. Protein has 4 calories per gram so if the powder is pure protein (no carbs or fat--which many powders do have in small amounts) it still has 4 calories per gram. Not that that is a bad thing, just for accuracy's sake.

How often do you weigh yourself?
I'm glad that's what works for you! But don't assume it's what's best for everyone ????
-
How often do you weigh yourself?
Couple times a day ???? I'm totally annoyed right now bc I just got a HUGE HEAVY plaster cast on my arm and have no idea how much it weighs

Sushi?
Lucky in my book! I am jealous. Rice is one of the only things I can't tolerate even in tiny amounts and I do wish I could have an occasional sushi roll! I've done it with seaweed but it isn't the same

Unflavored protein powder

Skin shrinkage
To post in the vets forum it's a combination of a year out and a certain number of posts on the board (100 I think). As for skin... I have no knowledge except what I have read here and elsewhere and what my docs have said. I am at (below) goal and intend to wait a year out to see where that leaves me. I am surprised actually... I am 45 and have been heavy my whole life and obese at least 16 years and my skin is still shrinking. It still needs help, but is still making progress. For a TMI example---my boobs are now the lump in a hanging sock variety...BUT in the last two months my nipples have gone from pointing downwards to pointing back forwards! Honestly never thought I would see that!
