I've been a non insulin dependant diabetic for 4 years now and I would say that you need to call surgeon and ask him if you can add some protein to your diet one time a day maybe that will help. I didn't have to do the one week liquid diet my diet was two weeks but I had to have Instant Breakfast and fruit and for supper I could have 3oz of meat and a salad so my blood sugar was fine. On the up side I am two months post op and already off all my meds so I hope you can do the same.

My Dr. pulls every cc out of the port and puts it right back in plus some. I figured every Dr did this. I'm sorry that this happened to you. Do they just replace the tube and Port?

Wait it out and take liquid Tylenol. It gets better!

Do you have health insurance that covers visits to the Emergency Room? If so go there and they will take care of it for you. I had the same thing happen and i just squeezed it until it came out the rest of the way.

Megan we are in the same boat together. I can eat anything I want and even large quanities of food until I get full. I have 3cc in a 10cc band so far. I go for my next fill on 1/21

Hey we should be buddies. We have about the same weight lost with about the same left to go and we were banded on the same day.

Will they send you a list of things that you don't have completed rather than give you one reason?

Why did they even submit a claim before you had everything done that you need? Do you have to have a Psyc Eval? If so I would not submit it until you have everything done. I have BCBS in Pennsylvania and it only took 2 days to get an approval.

I'm a Nurse Aide in a hospital on a floor that cares for Trauma patients and CABG patients and I had to take off work for two weeks just to be safe. My Dr. didn't want me to get a hernia.

Tell your Dr that you would like to see a Dr. from Cardiology so that they can clear you to have the surgery. And after you have the surgery tell them you want an EKG in the OR to make sure that there were no changes and you want to stay overnight in the hospital on a floor that can monitor your heart. People have surgery all the time with a fast heart rate. Don't let them tell you that it can't be done. Keep me posted!

I think most of the Dr's don't want to deal with all the fills and unfills they have to do with the band. It takes alot of there time and the patients.

I felt the same way until day 4 or 5 and it got better. Just hang in there.

How many CC's did he end up putting in?

I have Highmark BCBS and I had to have the 6 months.

I'm 8 weeks out and still have to take something. I hope it doesn't go on forever.

Does your Dr allow you to have protein powder in water or juice? That might help you feel full a little longer. I know how you are feeling, I was baned on November 11 and I had my 1st fill on December 22 (3cc in a 10cc band) and I don't have any restriction. I eat an extra snack during the day for now until I get another fill.

Make sure you have pants with a drawstring to wear to work. Your stomach may still be alittle tender.

I have BCBS of PA and after having 6 months of supervised diet I got approved in 36 hours. Good Luck

I can't bring myself to go to the gym yet because I'm still so big. How did you get up enough courage to go the first time?

Got my 1st fill on Monday. 3cc in a 10cc band I feel nothing. I came home and ate chicken and rice soup. I hope I feel a little restriction next time.

My Dr puts 3cc in the first time. I think that is a bit much

My 1st fill is tomorrow also and I am so scared becasue my friend had her 1st fill on wednesday of last week and she couldn't even keep water down. I don't want to be sick on christmas day.

By post op day 7 I was starving and could eat whatever I wanted. My surgeon does not require you to be on a clear liquid diet after surgery you can start on pureed food right away. Now I'm 5 1/2 weeks post op and ready for a fill on Monday.

If I had sharp chest pain I would be in the Emergency Room. Do you think you should go and not put it off any longer. I had sharp chest pain a few years ago and it ended up being my gall bladder. Just go have it checked out.
