  1. So your problem was with the surgeon not the band!
  2. 6 weeks without bread is nothing. Try 7 months! I don't think I will ever be able to eat bread again.
  3. I am 7 months post op and am only losing 1lb a week so I know how depressing it can be but I am trying to stay positive. Hope you can do the same.
  4. The only thing I don't like about the Wii Active is that the band is way to week for me. I had to go to walmart and buy a stronger one. Other than that I love it!
  5. All I had to have was a chest xray, ekg, and lab work.
  6. If you have good restriction then maybe you should cancel the appt and let it go until July when you might not have as much restriction. I went today for my fourth fill and they wouldn't give it to me becasue I lost 14lbs in 5 weeks.
  7. I was at the gym and a lady came over to me and said that we joined the gym at the same time and that I was doing really well and she could tell a difference in me.
  8. Banded on November 11, 2008 by Dr. Newlin. How has the first month been for you?
  9. Don't cry and think that you made the wrong decision. The first five days are hard but after that it's a piece of cake!
  10. I'm a Nurse Aide on a heart bypass/trauma unit and my Doctor made me take off two weeks so that I didn't get a hernia from lifting patients.
  11. Don't go to curves yet, you might get a hernia
  12. I have the same exact problem, one day it's so tight that water hurts going down and other days I can eat pizza. I haven't lost anything in 2 weeks but I know I can't take another fill. I think I need a kick in the butt!
  13. When I had my first appt with the surgeon I went in and said "I am here for the lapband and the lapband only don't even talk to me about the bypass because I don't want it" I am so happy that I had the lapband and didn't let him try to talk me into the bypass.
  14. Good Luck with the other half!
  15. I wish I could help you. I am in the same boat as you! All I do is walk/run on the treadmill for 60 min 3-4 times a week.
  16. I'm sure there are millions of people out there that feel the same way you do and in six months you will say to yourself "I'm so stupid why did I feel that way." Good luck and be scared it's natural!
  17. Good Pizza sounds so good now! Call your Dr tell them you want a fill right away!
  18. You might be able to eat 1/4 cup of food for a bout 1 week after the surgery but not forever. I eat 1 to 1 1/2 cups of food 3 times a day with a snack. The thing I like most about the band is I can try just about anything with no problem so maybe you will be the same way. Good Luck!
  19. I eat soup 5 days a week but I always have some sort of protein with it and It sticks with me for a long time. Maybe you need to change your work out. Don't do the same thing every day. Also maybe you need to eat foods with more calories, your body needs food to burn so if you get a small unfill like .5 cc it will help. Good Luck
  20. I noticed the same pain last week when I started running for the first time EVER. I thought maybe I just needed bike pants under my gym pants to hold my stomach down. I wonder if it would help? :welldoneclap:
  21. Did your Insurance pay for the reband?
  22. I hope he can do the next fill in the office. It is going to be pretty expensive if he as to do it at the hospital every time. Good Luck!
  23. Wow, 90lbs in one year. I wish I could do that.
  24. How much of a fill do you want? If your Dr lets you pick how much of a fill you want then I think he was not a good Dr for you to see. If you wanted to take weight off fast then you should have had the bypass. I'm not trying to be mean I just think you should take it slow so your hair doesn't fall out and you don't have other problems.
  25. I work in Nursing and I was off for two weeks
