I have been overweight for all my life but I do not have the complete record of information I need information of 2006 I did not go to the doctor at all that year. I consider this a blessing but now that I am pre-hypertension - blood pressure - and thyroid problems I can't get my lapband. Any suggestions on how I can prove I was overweight for that year. I have weight watchers information would that work??? Thank you

I have been trying to get approved for over a year.....got new insurance and finally got approved....I go to my surgeons office today for the first visit and start my 6 months of going to the doctor.....I am scared now I guess you could say so any great advice would be appreciated.....Thanks this site is wonderful!!!

Sorry it has took me so long to respond just been waiting on the doctor's office....I found out yesterday that my new Blue Cross Blue Shielf of TX insurance will cover my lapband....I have to go through the 6 month process of seeing a doctor once a month and the psy appt and will be able.....Such a blessing!!!!!!

I have just been informed from my employer that the beginning of 2009 we will be going on BCBS of TX PPO...I am moving from United Healthcare (which turned me down for my lapband) please could someone tell me if I have a better chance this time and what do I need to do....Thank you all so much:confused_smile:

Hello everyone it has been awhile (since April 2007) since I was turned down with my United Healthcare.....my company since then has been bought out and we have the United Healthcare PPO.....does this mean better news for me???? Does anyone have this and have any suggestions to help me???? My new insurance comes into affect Feb 1, 2008...so I am patiently waiting,,,,,Thank you

It was a plan exclusion and my company rep told me to appeal it...any information would be greatly appreciated

Has anyone won from an appeal with United Healthcare??? I have United Healthcare Choice Plus and I was denied getting ready to appeal and was just wandering if anyone has had any luck with this???

I am so depressed....they told me on Friday that I was not approved due to my company plan and that I could appeal it....I do not know where to begin can someone please help me I am dying here with UHC....Thank you all for listening...:cry

The doctor's office called me this morning....The office manager resubmitted it yesterday and then she called me this morning that she had been on the phone with UHC today and that is when they told her I need proof of weight problem for the past five year:confused:

Well it's me again!!!!! I just finally got the nerve up (yesterday)to call the insurance company myself instead of waiting on the doctor...after talking to 5 people...they told me they had not received it....I called the doctors office they resubmitted and this morning I got a call from them UHC needs 5 years of past weight records so that is where I am now in my venture...I know it will be worth it soon but I am so getting depressed waiting....I have been waiting since January......Thanks for listening

Pamla68 I am not sure what they will pay yet....any will be better than what I can do you know...but I am not sure hopefully I can get back with you on this one but I have United Healthcare Choice Plus...the top of what they offered my company ....we have about three levels we could have chosen from when I hired in to the company...hope this helps...I will keep you updated when I find out more though...Hang in there
