Chevron got a reaction from Freiabr in October 2018 Sleevers
For crunch Snacks, my dietician allows crackers with a high grain or seed content. They’re not salty snacks per se but you get the crunch.

Chevron got a reaction from Freiabr in October 2018 Sleevers
I haven’t had any alcohol since. I’ve had one coffee since which is a big achievement for me. I used to have one coffee a day for Breakfast and felt I couldn’t function without it. I used to drink a diet soft drink in the afternoon and haven’t had any since.

Chevron got a reaction from beingdina in Vitamin Patches
My dietician required people to use a Multivitamin that dissolved in Water. We weren’t allowed to take large pills like many Multivitamins are where I live. Now though I am meant to go back onto normal multis and I am testing some chewable ones. I couldn’t swallow the big ones back in the old days anyway.

Chevron got a reaction from Frustr8 in Shana
Hiya! I didn’t have a band but my original surgery was a plication several years ago. It was still newish where I lived. While it was in place, it was great, but after time the stitches came undone and I had to have the whole thing reversed ( like the whole thing, it was not safe to keep it). After a few years I decided to have a sleeve done. I had the same doc both times and he no longer does the plication. Not fully sure why, but I think he thinks it’s not reliable long term.
When I was in hospital for my sleeve however ther was a woman who was operated on the same day as me by the same doc and she had a band to bypass revision.

Chevron got a reaction from FluffyChix in Not full
I also thought they might have looked inside and not done anything (cos I had complications from before). I woke up out of surgery feeling great. I even had the night nurse check the chart that the surgeon really operated.

Chevron got a reaction from 🅺🅸🅼🅼🅸🅴🅺 in Just got bumped up to solids!
Pre op I used Calorie King but post op I use a written food diary so I can easily show it to my dietician. The first post op meeting with her I just described what I had been eating as I didn’t track. The next meeting when I had the food diary was so so much better. She was able to give more comprehensive advice and point out good and bad things. I’m now committed to paper tracking.

Chevron got a reaction from MMME in Roux-En-Y Gastric Bypass ADELAIDE AUSTRALIA anyone here from Australia
Mikeyy if feasible talk to some other doctors. I have a sleeve. I have top hospital and extras cover and paid only $500 excess for the private hospital and roughly $50 for the medication I took home. Surgeon, anethatist (spelling!) and swallow test were all covered by insurance with no gap.

Chevron got a reaction from GreenTealael in 4 week post-op weight loss meltdown
I get the Protein by having it for every meal and also having a drink of protein Water, really bumps it up.

I’m about the same stage as you. I’m required to get 60g Protein a day but the dietician hasn’t said anything about a calorie limit. I track manually on a piece of paper where I record calories and protein, so she can see how much cal there is, but she hasn’t said anything. Some days are low calorie but some can be up to 800.

Chevron got a reaction from Frustr8 in Is anyone else feeling down?
The problem with fluids is they say don’t drink 30 mins before or after a meal. That’s a whole hour. And you’re meant to eat five times a day (or I am, three meals and two snacks). That’s at least five hours you can’t drink!

Chevron got a reaction from Hop_Scotch in What is a common non alcoholic drink to get at a bar?
2shea I would love to sneak in my Protein Water and pour over ice! Is that allowed at bars? I’d assume they think I’m sneaking in alcohol.
I think maybe I need to be more selective about where I go. Go to places that do mock tails without a soft drink base and have the menu online so you can see what’s in them.

Chevron got a reaction from FancyChristine15 in You will get hungry
Yup had a sleeve and still hungry but much more in control. When I previously had a plication (later reversed) I was not hungry for months. It was great.

Chevron got a reaction from Excited for a new me in Protein shakes??
Bodiez Protein Water. There’s two kinds though, one is 30g protein per bottle and the other is 15g. I always go the 30g one.

Chevron got a reaction from %^& in Do you have a Treat, what is it, and how often.
I don’t have a treat per se, but am trying to incorporate more tasty foods that I like into my diet (currently minced and mashed stage before normal food stage). One of my problems in my old life was that I felt I needed to eat healthy foods that I didn’t like, instead of ones I do like. Eg I hate apples but used to eat them rather than fruits I genuinely liked but which took more time to prepare (eg slicing up a watermelon). So now I am adding little bits, which are within the dietician’s requirements, to make everyday more nice.

Chevron got a reaction from GreenTealael in How long do you need to prioritise protein?
Is prioritising Protein just for the recovery stage (a few months) or is it meant to be the new normal forever? My dietician hasn’t mentioned it as she tends to only deal with the current recovery stage.

Chevron got a reaction from rs in Non-food rewards
Ugh I find non food rewards really hard to do! I am so used to just buying things and doing things when I want, not keeping it as a special reward.

Chevron got a reaction from PopsFury in How did you choose a goal weight?
Having previously lost weight, I knew my skin wasn’t going to bounce back and I would have some extra. My goal weight was a previous weight I had been which seemed to be a comfortable spot that balanced looking good with not having too much loose skin.

Chevron got a reaction from Frustr8 in Being completely prepared before surgery!!!
Clean your house and do all your chores before going to hospital as you won’t feel like doing them the first week back home.
Have all of your dieticians guidelines on hand in the hospital to review and again when you come home.
Do a big shop of Protein items and other items. Buy different flavours and kinds as you don’t know what you’ll be in the mood for.
