Woke up from surgery without the bypass.
That is a real bummer. Sorry.

Question for those on maintenance?
I will be one year post-op next Tuesday. I eat nuts, fruit, soups, yougurts, protien shakes. I am still afraid to try new foods. I tend to eat the same 15 things. I still weigh my food out on a scale. I did find out through experimentation that I can tolerate sugar, but cannot tolerate fatty foods. So my new challenge has begun. Good luck.

Baby food?
I tried a bunch of it when I was on Stage 2. I can't say I enjoyed any of it.

Does anyone have a problem with beef?
I do not have a problem with it, I just haven't had much of a desire to start eating it again.

Once I was cleared to try regular foods, I started eating popcorn (no butter, dash of salt.)

stall? so early?
Stalls are not fun, I have had my share of them. Stay positive, stay focused. Read the posts on stalls. "Hold the vision and trust the process." Best Wishes!!

Broccoli
I can eat it cooked or raw, but my pouch and digestive system do not like it when I do.

Unsure...
You can do it, but it won't be easy. Build a big support group. You will need them in the future.

Preop Newbie - Food Processers and Shakers & Preop Emotions
I really didn't have a lot of preop emotions. Once I decided that I wanted the surgery, I never looked back or second guessed myself. The night before surgery I did feel exactly like I did the night before I went to bootcamp in the Navy. It felt like it was the start of a new life, a life unlike anything I had ever lived before. It was very surreal when I was being wheeled into the operating room. I am almost 11 months post-op and I cannot wait to see what the next 11 months holds. I get goose bumps just typing this.

Strength loss after surgery
I have absolutely noticed this. I have no idea how much of my weight loss has been muscle, but I am willing to bet a lot. My GF who happens to be an RN said I am all skin and bones. I have lost by my estimate 18% body fat. I try to get all my protien in, but I know I am falling short. I love lifting weights but have noticed a big decrease in my strength. I am going to continue to lift weights and see what happens.

What are your excuses?
I rarely go out to eat, but if I do, I do not explain myself to anyone when ordering, unless I feel like humoring them. Then I might tell them I am a surgically altered freak.
