  2. 2.5 weeks before surgery I had homemade carne asada nachos and 2 Crystal light margaritas with patron.
  3. I never lost any hair. I'll be2 years out next month. I have really thick hair so maybe I didn't notice but it has continued to grow like usual. I think we may be the exception.
  4. I add torani sf pumpkin pie syrup to my yogurt and my shakes. Its pretty good.
  5. I give myself a shot once a month. My doctor gives me a 3 month prescription for b12 and syringes. I can tell when it's time cause my energy levels drop a bit. I have to watch the calendar cause I'll take it too soon if I'm not careful.
  6. Love that! Rest well and enjoy your family. We'll be here when you come back.
  7. My favorite pair of prescription sunglasses no longer fit and it is soo frustrating. I wear them with hats and scarfs so I can anchor them on my face lol
  8. Not fitting in an airplane seat prompted my research into bariatric surgery. When I fit without an extender, it was a SWEET VICTORY!!!!
  9. I'm So grateful for this blessing. I have lost my mother, grandmother, child cousin, and aunt to cancer. I have a hatred for the disease and I'm always overwhelmed with joy anytime someone beats the demon. Many blessings to you and your family.
  10. Ok. So @@Dub we need to sponsor a bariatric bbq. You Grill and I'll handle the sides. :-) But as far as first solids I went straight to chicken breast marinated with lemon, garlic and fresh herbs and London broil medium well with grilled unions, peppers and mushrooms. I just really wanted a thick piece of meat!
  11. I can't change my profile pic. I've tried a million times and 100 pounds ago but it stays the same. Please help!
  12. Lol...in my house having off limit bins/hampers are THE only solution. I was angry till I realized me and my son wear the same size t-shirt so to him it can't be mom's so must be sister's. Save the stress and keep my clothes separate.
  13. Proud of you and your strength! @@bellabloom
  14. Costco has 18 for $24. They go on coupon every few months for $19. I try to stock up then. If you don't have a membership just but a gift card and you can shop without the membership of you pay with the gift card.
  15. Love it @@Elode! My 13 year old son kept putting my shirts in my 9 year olds closet. Well mommy took a trip to Victoria's and all my underwear started disappearing. Of course my 9 year old daughter is not paying attention but I find half my undies in her drawer and somehow she doesn't realize those aren't hers. I now have my own laundry hamper to stop the confusion and clothing loss.
  16. I made my own broths. Boil your meat of choice with onion, carrots, celery, herbs & seasonings. Cook for a few hours then strain the broth off and then you can blend some of the solids, freeze and save for your pureed foods phase. And you can freeze some of it whole for regular meals. I just couldn't drink the store bought stuff.
  17. Yuck! I love most of the Quest products but I've had better protein chips.
  18. I use all sorts of things. Crystal light, mio, lemon, lime, caffeine-free teas for iced-tea, frozen berries, Orange slices or few chunks of frozen watermelon in plain water with a few mint leaves is very refreshing. Celestial seasonings makes a ton of caffeine free teas. Just make a pitcher and add ice it's great.
  19. Ask for nicotine patches or wellbutrin to help you. Most insurances cover cessation aids. I hear vaping helps but when I quit it wasn't a popular option. I quit several years before I had surgery so it wasn't urgent. You can do it. Just try figure out what will help you fight the cravings.
  20. Too much! I can't take it
  21. I got a flu shot 2 weeks before I had surgery. You should be ok.
  22. This topic has me in tears over here! All of y'all are nuts! I definitely lost weight in that area and in my feet. No mud flaps here lol
  23. I was in an abusive relationship with an addict(drugs/alcohol) for many years until I had a loaded gun to my head and woke up for my kids. I got out of that relationship and found the man of my dreams. We had our issues but he's loving and kind and I was 300+ pounds and he still loved me for me. We're going on 10 years next week and I'm so glad I walked away from that mess I was with before. There is a better man for you. Don't sell yourself short.
