  1. Oh no! What happened?
  2. Congrats! Hopefully, I will get a date soon. I submitted to insurance last week.
  3. I have the fitbit and I'm in love! There's a pretty large group of people I know across the country and we all connect/compete:-) on the fitbit. I have a handful of friends with the jawbone and they seem to like it too.
  4. Happy anniversary to me! Today's our 8 year wedding anniversary and I got the call from my surgeons office that they were submitting to insurance. I'm so excited! I'm praying to have my surgery date sometime after thanksgiving but before Christmas. My surgeon is still injured so only time will tell when I'll my date will be.
  5. I just found out my surgery has been pushed to December. My surgeon is injured so I must wait. I'll be submitting to insurance in a few weeks soo hopefully all will go well.
  6. That's awesome! You're very lucky to have such an understanding boss. My boss is awesome but our hr department is a whole nother ballpark. They would give her a hard time about my leave if it wasn't FMLA but she's willing to let me work from home for a few weeks if I'm still feeling too tired to come in.
  7. I do Zumba on Tuesday and Wednesday. Its alot of fun and a full body workout. I can't wait to have my surgery so I can start seeing the results of all this fun booty shakin! :-)

  9. Girl! That's how I felt in hot hula! It only goes uphill from here. :-)
  10. I make mine with white beans and cut up chicken breast. I use fresh beans not canned but you can do either. Canned won't need to cook as long. I cut up a half of each- red, orange and green bell pepper and onion and 2 celery stalks. Saute the veggies in tbsp of olive oil. Add chili powder, basil, garlic powder and lemon pepper to your liking then add your chicken breast (2-3) cook chicken. Add a can of diced tomatoes with chillies. And 3 cups of low sodium chicken broth. Add your beans, bring to boil then cook on a low heat for about 2 1/2 hours. If you use canned beans it should take about an hour. It works in a crock pot too. I cook for 6 so you can modify it to fit your family.
  11. I'm going to try alot of these recipes but with sweet potatoes. :-)
  12. I've been doing Zumba but today I'm trying hot hula.
  13. Oh yea, I should mention I'm preop so I'm not if this is good for post op. But I love it now. :-)
  14. I love to use 1/2 cup almond coconut milk, about 2 tbsp of greek yogurt, a scoop of vanilla protein powder, a 1/4 of banana, a couple drops of the dasani pinapple coconut flaver drops and a few ice cubes. It's heavenly!
  15. Got my box today!!! I was flabbergasted! It was the perfect sunshine to my terrible week. It's also been great getting to know my pen pal. I look forward to our continued friendship. :-)
  16. Great! Which route did you take? 3 or6 months? I'm shooting for 3. We'll be submitting the first week of October. I hear Aetna is good about approving.
  17. Cool! Maybe we'll have surgery around the same time. I'm going to be a nervous wreck until I get a date!
  18. Sweet! I'm excited for you! I can't wait to submit my paper work. 3 more weeks...
  19. My surgeon let us all know in orientation he will not perform surgery if you gain weight but he doesn't require weight loss. If the requirement to lose weight is based solely on insurance, you definitely should contact your insurance company. It might give the chance to make a connection with a case worker or nurse coordinator. I called my insurance to ask a bunch of questions and I ended up with a case manager. She calls me every couple of weeks and we talk about diet, activity, stress and whatever else comes up. She is also in touch with surgeons office and plans to make her own recommendation when the paperwork is submitted. I'm praying for a quick approval. :-) Good luck!
