I got out of the shower and wrapped the towel around me, I tucked under my other arm before I realized the towel was securely wrapped around me with no gaps. WOW! I don't remember the last time I was able to wrap a towel around me without a huge gap. I did a short Happy dance, and I got ready for work.

So excited to report that I ran 3/4 of a mile today without stopping. While that may not seem like much to some of you, you must know that before I started losing weight I couldn't run for more than 30 seconds without getting winded. The best part is, I wasn't dying when I got off the treadmill and I probably could have kept going! Such an exciting day for me!

Went to the park with my kids yesterday & was able to play with them on all the equipment, even go down the slide! They loved it that I played & could keep up with them. They kept talking about it all night.
It was a GREAT Mother's Day!!!

I was so jazzed about being able to fit into my old watch (funny--you never think of your wrists getting fat, but they do) that I wore it for three days before I realized the battery was dead. LOL!

Went to a theme park yesterday, and got on my first roller coaster in more than 10 years (12 years to be exact!) fear of being told I didn't fit kept me off every ride for that long.
After the whole day my hubby was like just get on one already. I went alone! In fear of humiliation! And this ride was CRAZY!!! lol and my hubby recorded it! LOL I couldn't believe I fit! I couldn't believe I loved it! Me and hubby are planning a date night back so we can get on more.... Together:)

I have lost 30 pounds since the surgery, and 50 overall (50 to go). Here are my favorite non-scale victories:
Being able to cross my legs!
Being able to sleep on my stomach again!
Being able to run without pain in my hips, knees, and feet!
Being able to shop in the Misses section of the store!!!!!!!
Being able to do a sit-up, or paint my toe-nails, or tie my shoes without my belly causing all the air to whoosh out of my lungs!
So pleased to be able to share with all of you!

I finally got my approval. It was supposed to have been submitted to my insurance on the 10th but she didn't submit it till the 17th and I called today and was told it was approved. Now all I have to do is wait for Jennifer the surgery scheduler to set the surgery. Finally I feel I can breath now!!

Jumping in the pool and actually being able to swim on the bottom and not shooting to the surface like a rocket because the fat makes you float, I used to hate trying to get something out of the drain in the deep end because I would jump in and touch the bottom and before I could grab whatever was in the drain my fat would speed me to the surface. My kids would love to ride on my back when I went under cause I thought I was going under but not really. I just bobbed along the surface. I was their flotation device.

My kids are 22 months and almost 4.5. I'm also doing it for them as well as myself. I'm just tired of being the mom on the sideline at the park or at the amusement park etc. I want to be doing things with them. Like running, riding bikes, long walks. That is what is getting me through the nerves. I just remind myself by this time next year how different our life will be. This Sunday is the one month Mark till surgery.

Well good news is you are 100% normal in your feelings. The answer is really within yourself, but the tests that you keep giving yourself are unfair. Let me explain: I woke up from surgery fog and pain about a week later and as I was sitting in bed sipping my Water I realized I was not hungry. For the first time in my life I did not want food. I was just not hungry. I had been up for several hours and food has never crossed my mind. I knew then that this was going to work.
Now with that being said the next added tool is that in the early stages when you eat something you should not your stomach makes you pay dearly for it. I thought I was miss know it all and doing great in my recovery and had eggs too early. Trust me it makes it hard to eat eggs now.
The struggle is with your brain. It is a creature of bad habits. It will tell you over and over that the egg is fine a week after surgery. What do those silly surgeons know anyway - you can eat that egg no problem. It will throw a temper tantrum that will Hail in comparison to a two year old.
I am a year post op and can eat anything I want, but my portion sizes are much much smaller. As for trying the Protein Shakes don't buy too much before surgery as your taste buds change so much after surgery. This journey is a great experience and will test you mentally, physically. It is worth the pain, struggles and hard times. I have learned so much about who I am and have realized I am so much stronger than I thought I was. The best thing is going to a store and knowing I can fit into anything. I hope that helped.
