    Diabetes no more!

    Pictures will come soon
  4. Hello Everyone, this is a report for the diabetes people. So before my surgery I had a hb A1c of 10.2 % and I was worried that I wouldn't be able to have the surgery at all because my sugars ran around 290 everyday and so I am proud to announce that my sugars run around 100 or less now and my hb A1c is 5.2%. Praise the Lord, I never took another metformin once I left the hospital on my surgery day. I went down from 278 to 207 in 6 months. I have had alot of plateus but I am making it. I am so proud of all of us that went this route of trying something to help us out health wise. Alot of people ask why did I have the surgery since I seemed so happy with my weight, Well being happy in your skin is one thing but no one is happy with DIABETES eating away at their insides. I didn't aim to be super skinny but to be super healthy. I am so glad that I can eat fruit again without my sugar running up to 300. I feel free. I would like to loose maybe another 20 pounds in the next 6 months. The dietitian and nurse at the surgeons office said that I am right on track. Good luck to all of you! I will post pictures later today

Just joined this site and doing some research. I saw where Dr. Weaver did your surgery. Congrats on your weight loss! I am waiting on final approval from BCBS IL for approval. Dr. Weaver will be performing my sleeve. What procedure did you have? I have done all the preliminary requirements. Everything was submitted on 3/28. Anxiously waiting for it to be finalized. Hi sorry for the late reply.. I had the gastric bypass. I started the requirements in April and had surgery September. I am at 7 months now and I am doing great. No regrets on the surgery at all. Even if I did not loose another pound the diabetes is gone so I am grateful.

I've heard that too about Dr woodman. Buy heard his surgeries are successful for the most part. I used Weaver.
  8. It's going good, slow and lots of platues but it's OK. I have lost 64 pounds
  9. And congratulations on almost meeting goal. I'm so happy for you.
  10. No they didn't. But I googled kidney stones after gastric bypass and it said it was pretty common after the bypass.
  11. Oh girl I am great except I had to be rushed to the ER yesterday in major pain. The CT scan showed a 4mm kidney stone that's on the move from the kidney to the bladder. The good news is that the blood work showed all my vitamin levels and protein levels were great. How are you?
  12. Because of the rain they cancelled the Tuesday meeting but it will be a meeting Thursday February 6th at 730 St. Catherine room. The next meeting after that, will be the first Tuesday in March at 630.
  13. It's the first Tuesday of the month. Every month.
  14. It's the group Dr. Kelley used to lead. It is now peer lead in the St. Catherine room. 630 to 730. You get to ask others that have had the surgery over a year ago questions. It's all questions about anything pertaining to the surgery. Dr. Weaver did mine as well.
