  1. Hi! Well my cycles are definitely more regular now. Not exactly on a definite pattern but I get them consistently. I even became pregnant in September which was wild after 3 years of nothing. Unfortunately I miscarried but since then even I'm getting periods at least monthly. I wish I could say the hair growth had stopped but not totally. It doesn't seem as heavy but I still have it despite being very close to goal. My 1st period or so after surgery were pretty brutal. It's a bit better now. Idk if this is my new normal.
  2. Hi and welcome! This app has been such a great outlet for me so I know exactly what you mean. The good news is you are close! By the end of this year you will be blown away by how life has changed. It does seem to drag when you are eagerly waiting and so ready to get this journey going! Before you know it you will have your spot on the losers bench! Keep us updated and congrats on your upcoming surgery!!
  3. I don't remember much until I got to the floor. I briefly remember waking up and seeing other beds with people but I just wanted to sleep. After sleeping for a few hours I was up and walking. I was pretty comfortable with my pain pump and every time I walked I got further and further. My oxygen dipped low at 1st but I had severe sleep apnea.
  4. A good poo does us all good.
  5. Sounds awesome!!! You are going to love the changes you get to experience this year!!

  7. You look amazing!! Glad u found us again and are back!!
  8. Awesome! Well the tattoo I have on my left boob is definitely droopy. Then again my boobs are almost totally gone just some skin where they use to be :/ I've had a funky smelly episode from a bit of skin closing over my belly button. I kept just trying to make sure I keep it dry and used soap and Water and occasionally a q tip with alcohol. It was itchy and funky but it's a lot better. I can't afford plastics either but my thighs are like roll up lamp shades. I could literally roll the skin up. This is the year we reach our 1 year surgerversary!!! Happy New Year
  9. Hahaha!!! I learned this also but it was after milk! Needless to say I now know I'm lactose intolerant
  10. Hi! Congrats on giving up smoking! That was one of the hardest things to do for me so I have to say congrats! You have this! You can do it!!
  11. I had my black eyes peas and cabbage. I've always heard the cabbage for money and peas for luck! Had to keep up with tradition.
  12. I have a huge move next week across country and away from my family. I think my goal for this year is to adapt well, get more in shape, learn to ski, and work on continuing improving my health.
  13. Zofran was my friend for the 1st few months post op. I would definitely bring it up to your surgeon. Good luck!
  14. Hi welcome to the boards. Hope all went well at your weigh in!
  15. 2 Flintstones complete chewable were recommended to me by my nutritionist. They definitely made that part easier. If u are able to swallow pills I get my calcium citrate at Walgreens. They have petite pills. I take 2 of those 2x a day. sugar free Popsicles are great and count as fluids. I know it's winter but I had a snow cone machine from my kiddo and had the sugar free flavoring and it helped also. sublingual b12 and they also have a prescription intranasal b12 spray. The 1st part of my recovery was tedious just like you described. It was hard cause I didn't know how I would ever make it work. Nothing tasted good and nothing sounded good. Wasn't even hungry. Water with lemon and decaf tea with Splenda were some of my Fluid choices. I also liked the sugar free hot chocolate. Hope this helps. Keep your head up...this too shall pass
  16. 2 weeks off from work but honestly I didn't go back fill time. The hardest thing I faced was the fatigue I felt immediately post op. I'm a nurse so not a lot of time to stay still and I would feel so drained at 1st. The pain issue wasn't that awful I just was tired. Thankfully it passed and I was back to running circles around the office.
  17. Every single year I've started off saying I would lose weight and focus on my health but this year I actually did it. I was looking at pictures from 1 year ago and can't believe that was me! This year I am not making any resolutions but instead goals. What are a few of your goals for this year? What is your plans for progress in 2014? Happy New Years!!!
  18. Sorry to hear you have had a bad experience. Wls can be such a wonderful thing for most of us but it's good to get a reminder this surgery has risks. It's definitely something anyone pre op should balance in with making such a life altering choice. Good luck to you!
  19. No problem! Speedy recovery!!
  20. Hi! This is a great place to make friends! It is a hard road getting started indeed! The best thing I've learned is this too shall pass when the rocky patches come. Anytime you need any help or wanna vent there is all these amazing people here willing to share a wealth of knowledge and ideas. Congrats on your surgery and by this time in 1 year I think you will be so amazed how much life has changed.
  21. It's been very hard staying with the tons of family in and out at my parents. Has has no particularly good time to strike.
  22. That could very well be from the anesthesia. It's common from the breathing tube they intubate you with to cause some irritation. I had another surgery in October and it was very bad that time. Salt water gargles and throat drops might help. Good luck!
